Help and advice needed with weight loss!!

I’ve been a calorie deficit since August and I’ve lost 21 pounds. I got down to 125 which is just 5 pounds off from my goal weight; however, once I updated my weight in the app it started to add more calories but not enough to where I wouldn’t still be in a deficit. I have since gained two pounds back and I haven’t been able to lose any more weight. I’m starting to get confused as to what the cause is. I do workout 5 days a week and lift weights so it may be muscle but I’m also concerned that it might be my metabolism or possibly cortisol levels that are messing me up since I’ve been in a calorie deficit for so long. I just need advice from someone with experience so any tips are greatly appreciated :)

adding calories won’t cause further weightloss, if anything you may need to lower. That’s a good rate of loss so more than likely you needed to leave the calorie amount alone if you were still losing.

The closer you are to your Goal weight, the slower you will have to lose which means a calorie goal that is about 250 calories less than you need to maintain your current weight. So if you've been eating 1200 or right around there, this site won't calculate a lower calorie goal since it's nearly impossible to get sufficient nutrition on less than 1200 for a woman.

The last few pounds are slow - as it should be.

Just as a general FYI you can manually set your own calorie goal in "Goals."

Under-eating is a bad idea, though. Set it for 250 calories below your current TDEE and be patient. That will amount to a half pound weight loss per week.

Hi, I noticed this week that the app has added more calories for me as well. I think it's a glitch.

That’s amazing you lost 21 lbs! How tall are you ? And age? I would be very proud of your accomplishment! You could be in diminished returns. Too much workout vs food vs loss your body will take over to make sure it has enough to sustain. Reevaluate your goals instead of looking at the dreaded 5 lbs your body could be trying to tell you something 😀 5 days workout could be too much or the type of workout .. calories could be too low not enough complex carbs to fuel etc.
    you’re doing great! 👍
