Your doctor didn't advise? Mine did.

I was already eating relatively low fat, within the guidelines the doc gave me, so I just continued eating in the same style, trying to get overall balanced nutrition on average. For me, that worked fine.

If you just had surgery, eat at or at least near maintenance calories during the acute phase of healing, probably small number of weeks.

I kept eating at a calorie deficit after gallbladder surgery.

That was a bad plan I'd never repeat again during any important surgical/injury healing, unless the doctor absolutely ordered me to do so. (I'm recovering from a small skull fracture and brain bleed now, trying to eat a few hundred calories over maintenance daily, if possible. )

The guidelines are to return to your normal diet gradually, taking care with fat, spicy foods, gassy foods, and caffeine.

Since you are less than two weeks after your surgery, try to eat small amounts more frequently. Include lots of good protein, healthy carbs, fruits and veggies, to get enough fiber. Go for a walk for 15 minutes a few times a day. Get as much sleep as you can. And drink a lot of water!

I found that keeping to about 10g of fat in a 5-6 hour block of time was just fine. Much over that would cause some nausea, so the advice is to gradually increase your healthy fat intake as your body adjusts.

Return to your normal diet but look how things go. I know food in Qatar can be extremely fatty. It can also be extremely healthy. There's just so much fab fruit and veg available in supermarkets that there's no reason to eat a high fat diet. Just experiment with amounts of fat, and amounts of meals per day, and see for yourself what works. Me, I was back at my normal diet after removal, but my diet consists of about 50% carbs and fats tend to be on the lower side. No problems at all, also not with higher fat meals.
