Evening ladies
Phew what a day..picked up Rich and we were up at Tracy and Kyles a little after 10 this morning. And Miles was wound up from the time we got there until we left at 4:30.. he is like a whirling dervish.. and the more that people showed up,the more wild he got.. I held Delia quite a bit so I didn't get the brunt of it.. but he wore us all out..hopefully he will pass out soon..
I ate small amount and if I gain a lb or 2 it will come off..
I hope everyone enjoyed there day..4 -
Watching the parade(recorded) and watched the Westminster dog show. Everything is ready to pop in the oven, it’s just the two of us anyway

Deb – we got most of the tree put together only to find out that it was missing like 5 pieces and without those you couldn’t get the rest of the tree together. It IS pretty AND big, tho.
Have the baked ziti in the oven right now. As soon as the cheese melts, we’ll eat. I’ll just heat up the rest of the garlic bread that I have.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am up dressed and checking in with all of you. DH set up this laptop for me and learning how to use it.
Not a lot planned today. Going to be cold 22 now and only to get up to 38. Atleast no snow yet.
Watching the Marcy's parade and going to put up Christmas sruff inside.
Tracey--love the snowman. I bet they will sell.
Take care and thank you for being here.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND,NE
Shoot- I totally forgot about the parade until I just saw your post. I usually watch it, or at least part of it.
Was busy cooking all morning and never thought about it. Oh well.
Spent just over 3 hrs cooking. Only three of us ate-son's girlfriend isn't feeling good. She was ok at her house when they ate with her parents but started feeling sick right after that. She is here laying down.
Dh ate but never said anything- no thanks or what ever. Got most of the left overs(and there are a lot) while he naps. Have the bones simmering for some turkey broth for some soup tomorrow.
Tomorrow I will start decluttering the living room so I can get the tree up- wonder how it will go with the three new kittens. This is their first Christmas. Haven't had much trouble with the other cats in years past, except the one who loved to chew on the fake berries- Sadly Umaku passed away in April.
Hope to have the outside and inside decorations all done this weekend or early next week.
Going to mom's next weekend to make some candy.
won't be making as much this year. I won't be staying up super late to make all the extra treats just to have them sit around here.

sorry it is missing pieces. Is there any way of making your own out of clear plastic(and put that side in the back?

Lanette: Have you had any benefit from Nioxin. I have thin hair and do believe it has helped over the years. I have been with one hairdresser around 9 years. He likes to read and we discuss what he is reading.
Barbie: The Authenticity Project sounds interesting!
PIPCD: I am either going to get a pottery bench or cart with wheels for my plants!
Heather: Were you and John able to paint on Wed morning?
Carol: I hope your DH is feeling better. I motored over to Madison GA for a get away at a B&B there. I enjoyed it.
Rosilind: Welcome!
Annie: Glad you are feeling better!
Lisa: I am sorry you are in such pain and your mobility is limited. I hope this new ortho has some treatment ideas.
My first car was a Chevy Cavalier and then a Pointiac Grand Am and then several Honda Accords. We purchased a disability van with the ramp and wheel chair lock. When I sold this I got a used Rav4. I am happy with the Rav4.

Happy Thanksgiving, Ladies! I slept most of the day, thinking I had to go to work. I was the first to be called off, and I was so happy when they did. Rose and I had a feast. I put her dog food in the dish and added chicken. She gobbled it up. DS called, and he asked why we didn't spend time with my side of the family. I explained and told him that we could in the future. He sounds a little stressed. I spoke with DH, and he was upset that he hadn't driven out here since I was off. We will see each other in 2 weeks. I may call my aunt in California and check up on her now. I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am Thankful for your friendship and support. Have fun, everyone.
XO,

I had a lovely meal at my neighbors. Then I got home and got a call from a friend who told me a good friend of ours just lost her husband to a heart attack. The friend is in Belgium when she lost her husband. So they will have to get the US Embassy involved to get him home. Love and strength to my friend at this difficult time. Her daughter is leaving soon to be with her!6

Annie - your Dad may be clingy when you’re sick because he knows without you he couldn’t be at home. He’s probably also worried about you because you’re his daughter too.
I hope you were able to have a shower without incident.
Lisa - that looks like a big difference with the chair move.
Vicki - I bet those snowmen will sell, only because I want them for myself lol.
Michele - I would love to see a picture of your decorations.
I like buying people things they want for Christmas not stuff they need. I tend to do a bit of both though truthfully.
I continued to read but don’t have time for notes.
Happy that you all seemed to have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Good morning. I hope those of you who celebrate had a good Thanksgiving day.
Yesterday we had our Christmas themed monthly meeting,. We had a display of cards made by our card making group, a flower demonstration, then I read out one of my Christmas stories and a poem. One of my members also read some of their work. We had a speaker from the Folk and Transport Museum on Christmas practices in Ireland and how they came about. Our refreshments were Christmas themed. It was well attended and very enjoyable. Today I have my Latin study group.
🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins across the street. I brought the wine, including a Beaujolais with cranberry notes that was designed to pair with turkey. People seemed to like it! I had one glass and I thought it was excellent.
This year I passed on some of the sides for the first time. I'm becoming less of a people pleaser and I really don't like green beans in soup. So I'm
getting better!
There was a lot of chatter about music that made me feel old. My favorite music is fifty years old now. And my cousin is a movie buff, who retains so much detail about movies! Then there was football talk. But at least very little politics so that was good.
Overall it was lovely. I came home to Teddy and went right to sleep.
Today I will finally get groceries but I have to take my Dad. Unless I call my sitter. Hmm.
Then I will get back to my usual diet, and hopefully lose a few pounds by Christmas. That's the next event. I guess I need to start shopping for that.
Have a great day! And may you all be happy, healthy, safe, and free!

Hair - I've had my hair somewhere between waist length and long enough to sit on since about my mid-20s. 30 years! It's so easy to take care of when it's long that I'm not at all inclined to cut it short. My great grandmother had hair down to her ankles until she was into her 80s.
Christmas - I haven't made a Christmas list for myself since my early 20s. 35 years! And once my first husband and I separated 25 years ago, I was absolutely thrilled to drop most of the whole gift-giving thing.
I used to spend so much time and get so stressed about what to get his whole big family because they gave gifts to everyone, and they usually disliked anything I got for them. Do you know how sad it is when you spend time finding something you think the person would really like, only to have them make faces and indicate that they don't like it. Such a relief to get out of all that.
I'm not even sure if we'll decorate this year ... our tree and things are in the storage unit. We'll take a look but if they're difficult to get to, we'll keep things really simple this year!
And we're going to a buffet for Christmas lunch again. That suits us.
Of course, last year, we ended up with COVID for Christmas and once I got over being so sick I felt like I was going to die, it was quite relaxing. Our COVID rating has gone up to Moderate and it's going through my office building, so who knows ... there is the possibility we could do the COVID thing again. Hope not, but the possibility is there.
I think one of the best Christmas gifts for me this Christmas would be health and time. Time to cycle, garden and unpack/set up this house.
Bees - we added a third box to our hive today. The two we had on were chockers full of bees and comb. They've been so busy.
Got a fairly decent bicycle ride in at lunch today.

My brother rang me this morning! Lovely to talk to him. We chatted for quite a while and updated each other on family news. He is slowly improving, but can still only eat soft food and his taste buds are shot.
He said he had been feeling rather depressed at the slow progress, but they have started going to Maggie's, a cancer support centre which has branches around the country. Very good reputation. DSIL went for some helpful support counselling, and my bruv went to a Head and Neck Cancer group yesterday, and found it really uplifting. He realised he wasn't doing too badly and was interested in all the other stories.
He said they were going to come over in December to say hello. So I have to fix a date with DSIL.
G had her first ever support client this morning. She seemed to think it went OK.
Just taken in our Waitrose delivery. Very funny delivery guy. He obviously enjoys his job. I've just put the lamb he brought into a yoghurt marinade, ready to make a Goan sweetcorn curry for tonight. I will put it in the IP before my girlfriends Zoom at 4 pm.
I did manage to get 300 words written this morning, despite being interrupted by the long phone call. Edie and her difficult questions is featuring in this chapter, though I don't name her.
Glad nearly all of you enjoyed your day yesterday. Now there's just Christmas to get through!

Good morning ladies!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving meal.
Michele, your ziti sounded delicious and my ravioli with chunks of roast beef interspersed in the sauce turned out better than I thought it would. I grabbed a large sweet potato at the store last week and roasted it alongside the ravioli as it was baking and it really was the best I'd had in a long, long time. So no going hungry at my house yesterday. Or the next several days.
I messaged Collette on Wednesday and told her thanks but I was going to decline her invitation this year, and no need to bring over a plate since I had a big meal already planned. She said "but I hate to think of you being alone" - she knew how I felt about it. I think the idea is ingrained that older people living alone are lonely and always craving company. If I didn't have the internet to keep me connected with friends, that might be the story here. Who knows, next year I might be ready to be more social.
Neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Roger headed back to Seattle to see their hospitalized son yesterday morning, and he's finally doing better, no longer intubated after over a week in the ICU. He's able to sit up but still needs oxygen. I didn't know pneumonia could get that nasty anymore, especially in people in their 50's. I guess now his wife has it. This all stemmed from a cold their child picked up at school.
I was going to start on Christmas cards yesterday but the day got away from me, so I'll start today. Glad to have most of my shopping done, just a few more gift cards and some edibles. Checks to niece and nephews and a few local charities that I want to get mailed early next week since the postal service will be inundated - I think it already is.
Make it a fabulous Friday (or whatever day of the week it is for you!)

Morning, my dears,
Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely lovely, I was able to get away with eating what I wanted, which was just plain cornbread with a cup of pinto bean liquor on it, hot and wonderful. By the time we ate, I was utterly sick of every other food, so that was a joy, just to have that and a tablespoon of canned cranberry sauce.
Everyone else ate a ton, and sent the kids off back home with loaded plates filled with everything they could get on them. Some leftovers, but honestly, not a ton. It was just a lovely time, watching YouTube videos and talking and laughing over them the whole time. Watching my son's fiancée light up with the first taste of the pecan pie shortbread bars - and she even loved my stuffing, one of my odd concoctions. She's growing on me, that girl, and not just 'cause she likes my cooking, but because she really loves my son.
Corey enjoyed the evening with his brother - and they both got a little tipped over, not a surprise. I had zero sympathy for how they feel this morning, also not a surprise. They behaved very well, in all honesty, and I was in bed by 9 p.m., glad to leave them to enjoy themselves without hanging around as a disapproving presence.
I may not understand the urge, but I do respect that, as they've gotten older, both have learned to get drunk sparingly and make sure ahead of time to minimize repercussions. Considering how they behaved when I met them both 16 years ago, they've come a long way. Pat stayed the night, crashed on the couch, and has gone back off to his own life to enjoy the rest of the weekend off. Nice guy.
So far, it sounds as if everyone had the Thanksgiving they wanted, happy for that for all. I need to find some breakfast - might just be cornbread and beans... I'm still a country girl at heart, I guess.
Love from Arkansas,
Lisa

This is a post from Facebook from three years ago I thought it timely for my friend in Belgium and others who have lost loved ones and are having a hard time with the holidays may find it comforting too...
Hi. This is your late loved one speaking. I don’t have long, so listen up because I have a lot I want to tell you.
First off, I get it.
Ever since I left this world you have missed me, and I know you’re bracing for the holidays without me. No matter what anyone says, this year’s festivities are going to be really tough.
In fact, let’s be honest, this festive season will probably suck pondwater. But then, Thanksgiving and Christmas are tough holidays for a lot people.
You’re not alone.
See, the misconception about the holidays is that they are one big party. That’s what every song on the radio claims. Each television commercial you see shows happy families clad in gaudy Old Navy sweaters, carving up poultry, smiling their perfect Hollywood teeth at the camera. But that’s not exactly reality.
In reality, fifty-eight percent of Americans admit to feeling severely depressed and anxious during November and December. In reality many folks will cry throughout the “most wonderful time of the year.”
Well, guess what? Nobody is crying up here in heaven. This place is unreal. There is, literally, too much beauty to take in. Way too much.
For starters—get this—time doesn’t even exist anymore. Which I’m still getting used to.
Right now, for all I know, the calendar year down on Earth could be 1728, 4045, 1991, or 12 BC. It really wouldn’t matter up here. This is a realm where there is no ticking clock, no schedule. Up here there is only this present moment. This. Here. Now. That’s all there has ever been. And there is real comfort in this.
I know this all seems hard to grasp, but if you were here you’d get it.
Also, for the first time I’m pain free. I feel like a teenager again in my body. You probably don’t realize how long I’ve lived with pain because I never talked about it, I kept my problems to myself because I was your loved one, and you needed me to be brave.
But pain is a devious thing. It creeps up on even the strongest person, little by little, bit by bit. Until pretty soon, pain becomes a central feature of life.
Sometimes my pain would get so bad it was all I thought about. No, I’m not saying that my life was miserable—far from it. I loved being on earth. It’s just that simply waking up each morning was getting exhausting.
But, you know what? Not anymore. In this new place, I am wholly and thoroughly happy.
But enough about me. I don’t have room to describe all the terrific things I’m experiencing, and you don’t need to hear them. Right now, you’re grieving, and what you need is a hug.
Which is why I’m writing to you. This is my hug to you. Because you’ve lost sight of me. And in fact, you’ve lost sight of several important things lately.
Death has a way of blinding us. It reorganizes the way you think, it changes you. You will never be the same after you lose someone. It messes with your inner physiology. It reorganizes you’re neurons.
But then, there’s one teensy little thing you’re forgetting:
I’m still around.
Yes, you read that correctly, I’m right here with you. No, you can’t see me. No, you can’t reach out and hold me. But did you know that one of the things I’m allowed to do as a heavenly being is hang out with you?
It’s true. I’m never far away. I’m in the room with you now, along with a big cloud of ancestors, saints, and witnesses. I’m shooting the breeze alongside you, watching you live your life, watching you raise your kids, watching your private moments of sorrow.
Here, in this new realm, I am in the perfect position to help you learn things. Which is what I vow to spend the rest of your earthly life doing, teaching you little lessons, lending you a hand when you least expect it, and desperately trying to make you smile. Actually, I’ve already been doing this stuff, you just don’t realize it.
What, you don’t believe me?
Well, wake up, pal. You know that tingle you get in your spine whenever you think of me? That’s me.
You know how, just yesterday, you had a beautiful memory when you were driving and it made you cry so hard that it actually felt good and you began to laugh through tears? Also me.
You know how sometimes when you’re all alone, preoccupied with something else, suddenly you get this faint feeling that someone is standing in the room with you? Hello? Me.
You’re not alone on this earth. You never were. You never will be. So during this holiday season, when cheerful families are getting together and making merry, and taking shots of eggnog, I’m going to be clinging to your shoulder, helping you muddle through somehow.
I’ll be making your spinal column tingle a lot, and I’ll be sending plenty of signs. Each of these signs—every single one—is code for “I love you.” So start paying attention to these hints.
Because this was one.

DH is the chef here as I’ve mentioned before. He made 1/2 a 13 pound turkey on the grill, and the other half in the oven, mashed potatoes, gravy, mashed sweetened sweet potatoes, and stuffing. No sugar in sweet potatoes (none in the house only Stevia) with his pumpkin pies (he made 2 to use up old pumpkin and condensed milk we had in storage) in store bought pie crusts topped with cool whip. Decadent! I took a 30 minute walk after dinner and then took a ride on the John Deer Gator around the park. One of my walking trails is still flooded from the rain 2 weeks ago! I was surprised at that. I heard from my family, all by text except for my mom who chewed me out because I am the only one she can’t hear or understand on her answering machine or over the phone because I have “too many electric things messing up phone”. She stated that I need to get a regular phone and get rid of all my other “electric things”. I reminded her I can’t get a ‘regular’ (land line) phone because I live in an RV and if I hadn’t had my watch, I would not have answered the phone because I had just gone in the bathroom. I also told her everyone else I speak to on the phone never has a problem hearing or understanding me. She was the only one who had problems with me. I told her next time I leave a message, I would speak. Very. Slowly. So that might help. (She really upset me. She was mean on the phone). I had her on speaker phone (once I got out of the bathroom) and DH heard her too. He finally heard how she treats me on the phone. I told him she probably didn’t have her hearing aids in and was very tired from the day out with my sister for Thanksgiving. Other than that call, I had a very nice Thanksgiving.

The exercises I posted earlier this month in a spoiler were specifically for osteoporosis. They had 3 versions of yoga poses depending on the severity of the diagnosis. The list I posted is from my back doctor and helps to strengthen the muscles in your back around the spine. I’ll post them again in this spoiler. They might help. They help me.

Well yesterday was a nice day. DH and I put up our tree and put up our Nativity set. It is a precious monmets set our grandaughter Makenzi painted for us when she was 5, she is 24 now. Plan to work on cards next. Lastnight we took our Christmas picture. It is us and the 2 dogs in our new grinch PJ's. Always fun to try and keep them in the picture, it's just for fun.
DH is working today and we are having late dinner with DOS and family. DS is picking me up around 3 and DH will come over when he gets off work. Also going to celebrate his birthday. Part of the reason I am having him pick me up so the kids can decorate.
Michelle--Sorry to hear Denise and family are not feeling well. PJ in kindergarden already. They grow up so fast.
Annie--Glad you were able to get a shower.
Margaret--Thanks for sharing.
Got a call lastnight they had taken our grandson, Castle to ER. He was chocking and thet transfered him to bigger hospital bout 30 miles away. They live in Iowa. They did surgery and cleared his throat and found out his esophagus is very narrow. They stretchedit out and trying some meds. He is almost 18 (Dec 17) and a senior this years. Talked to them this morning and he is doing better. Times like that I hate living so far apart.
Sounds like everyone celebrated well, now on to Christmas preparations.

Debbie, what is your favorite curl-activating product? I am becoming disillusioned with mine.
Ok, I am going to tell y’all my Thanksgiving story knowing full-well some of you will lose all respect for me. I am a big girl and can take it. It’s too crazy not to share.
Wednesday I made the cornbread for my dressing, a pumpkin pie and a pecan pie. There was no room in the fridge to store the pies. I closed the garage door for the night and put the pies on the top shelf of a storage unit in the garage where it was nice and cool, then I went to bed to rest up for all the work on Thursday. At 10 o’clock, my mother calls in a panic. My brother has been in a car accident and injured bad enough to be transported by ambulance to the hospital, his wife is baby-sitting the grandchild and has no car, my 91-year old mother thinks it is a good idea to put the baby in a car seat in the back of her 25 year old car and head out to the scene of the accident. I say no. I will go and check it out and come to get you. I live 30 minutes away from them, mind you. I drive by the scene, stop and talk to an officer who tells me my brother has been transported to Athens - 25 miles in the opposite direction. I head on to get Mama, leave the wife and grandbaby at home, and go to the ER to get my brother. After x-rays and a CT scan, I take him and Mama home and drive back to my house. I arrive home at 4:00 a.m. to discover I left the garage door open and a possum is sitting on the top shelf, munching away on my pecan pie. It tried the pumpkin as well, but only took one little
nibble.
I trimmed a wide margin around the evidence of possum eating, put new saran wrap on the rest, and kept the pies. I had an Edwards chocolate pie in the freezer, Mama brought an un-violated pumpkin pie from her house, and my daughter brought sugar cookies. I told everyone about the possum so they could avoid the pies he had sampled if they were too icked out from it and we partied on. There were 15 people at my house. My brother (who was pretty banged up) and his wife stayed home, but we sent them take-out plates. Nobody got sick or died, and what was left of the pecan pie was devoured. Turkey, ham, dressing, green beans, roasted Brussels Sprouts, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, gravy and rolls all cooked with 2 1/2 hours of sleep and done before 12:45 in time for lunch. It was a good day.7 -
Kay ~ I saw what you wrote about that on Facebook yesterday and had no idea what your were talking about. Thanks so much for the story behind it. Sorry your brother got hurt and hope he feels better soon. You had a large group at your house even after only getting a few hours sleep.
Vicki ~ Hope that your grandson can be healed from the throat problem.
We went to my daughter-in-laws mom's house for TG. There was a unbelievable amount of food and everyone indulged. Her son's future in-laws came and it was nice to meet them. My contribution was Southern Dressing and gravy with chopped eggs.

Kay- so sorry about your brother, glad it wasn't severe.
The possum story is one for the books, kinda funny..,its alot of work you did..but I would have been chuckling to come home to that.. as my grandpa used to say..dont call me if you get sick in the night.
Tracy texted me last night thanking me so much saying she couldn't have done the cooking without me helping with
the kids..its great to feel needed.
Pictures this morning..Tracy has had to break out the 6 month clothes for Delia ..
Tom picked up Alfie..today has been a year since our sweet Homer has passed so I think he needed some fur company..
They also put the Florida place on the market..
It was a great place i enjoyed it for the yes were together and with the Florida weather and getting up in age and having to worry constantly it was just getting to be to much..so I hope it sells quick its in the back of the park ,you own the land.. and its a pet friendly lot.. so I wish them luck.6 -

Always wanted one, didn’t think about it till I saw a post somewhere. I wish I would have gotten it when we were doing the major planting/potting, oh well, looks cute anyway.
This is the first year we didn’t buy a turkey breast to cook. My turkey always comes out great, I’ve been doing it the same way since I was 19. Simple but good.

A long time ago someone asked my father about an experience he'd had and he replied "I wouldn't give a million dollars to have missed it and I wouldn't give a nickel to do it again" That's how I feel about all the holiday things I've done in the past---decorated houses, trees, classrooms, homemade Christmas cards and cookies, parties, line dance performances, travel, family, buying and receiving gifts. I loved the phrase "I've graduated from____" I regret none of the past efforts and activities and want to never do any of them again.
🥧Kay the possum story is a priceless one. Thanks for telling it.
🍗turkey carcass has been simmered so soon I can get everything packaged for the freezer.
🐕🐾Today was Bessie's annual wellness visit to the vet. She has short legs and can't jump into the car and after several recent events with his heart Jake realized that he can't lift a 50 pound dog so he was able to get a friend to help. It's the same friend who chopped firewood when Jake was in the hospital and drove him 60 miles to the doctor a week later. Jake paid him $50 for his time since he had to go with me, wait at the vets a long time since they were busy, and load Bessie for the ride home and get her out of the car. The good news is that Bessie at age 12 is in good health 😀🌞

It was a good day.
Sorry about your brother. Hope he heals quickly- love your possum story.
For right now I have three different products on hand. Two I really like- Tresemme flawless curls defining cream and DevaCurl light defining gel.
The Tresemme is a cream and still trying to figure out just the right amount(same with a third product)
The Deva Curl is like hand sanitizer the way it feels. Again, still trying to get the right amount. That one I use a bit more. I got it at Black Friday(the discount store)-paid $4 for it but it sells for close to $60 regular price for 32Oz bottle-it is huge so will last a long time.
Trying to get the curls without getting them clumpy/greasy feeling with the cream and not crunchy with the gel. I have found using less and mixing a bit of water with the cream works best
It is so nice that there are so many products to try. Up until I got these, Pantene Curl was my go to product- the whole line(shampoo, conditioner and curl activator gel) Not expensive and works well
When I first started letting it go natural, there were only a few products for curl hair, not available many places(way back before online shopping) a specialty thing and those made my curls so crunchy- loved the curls but not the crunch.
