Thanks for the recommendations, Debbie. I ordered some Deva Curls from Amazon. I found a 12-oz bottle for $20. I’ll try that. I’ve been using Kevin Murphy’s Killer Twirls. I don’t dislike it, but I’ve been struggling to get it right, and it’s nearly $40 for 6 oz. I need something a little more affordable, especially if I’m not “in love”.

    Good morning ladies!

Neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Roger headed back to Seattle to see their hospitalized son yesterday morning, and he's finally doing better, no longer intubated after over a week in the ICU. He's able to sit up but still needs oxygen. I didn't know pneumonia could get that nasty anymore, especially in people in their 50's. I guess now his wife has it. This all stemmed from a cold their child picked up at school. :#

Unfortunately, RSV is making itself known as the bringer of pneumonia.

I picked up RSV on our flight back to Australia in early October. I have not been so sick with a "cold" in a long, long time. I tested myself for COVID a couple times because I was so sick.

When my husband got it, I watched him carefully for any symptoms of pneumonia, and we saw a doctor who checked his lungs when his cough continued for a couple weeks. Fortunately, he was OK.

Wearing masks, using hand sanitiser, deep cleaning etc. are all still good options. People around here have started wearing masks again because of the upsurge of COVID and many places still have hand sanitiser at the door. At work, we've all got hand sanitiser on our desks and we use it. That's one of the first things I do when I come in from lunch after being in the shops.

Lanette: Have you had any benefit from Nioxin. I have thin hair and do believe it has helped over the years. I have been with one hairdresser around 9 years. He likes to read and we discuss what he is reading.

Barbie: The Authenticity Project sounds interesting!

PIPCD: I am either going to get a pottery bench or cart with wheels for my plants!

Heather: Were you and John able to paint on Wed morning?

Carol: I hope your DH is feeling better. I motored over to Madison GA for a get away at a B&B there. I enjoyed it.

    Rosilind: Welcome!

Annie: Glad you are feeling better!

Lisa: I am sorry you are in such pain and your mobility is limited. I hope this new ortho has some treatment ideas.

My first car was a Chevy Cavalier and then a Pointiac Grand Am and then several Honda Accords. We purchased a disability van with the ramp and wheel chair lock. When I sold this I got a used Rav4. I am happy with the Rav4.

My doctor also gave me the all clear on doing yoga despite having osteoporosis. I find venting does help and I miss my DH dearly because living alone there is no one to vent to. At this stage i guess there is less to vent about. Retired, son is grown..I am grateful for all my husband gave me in this world. I miss him dearly.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Best,
    Rosemarie from GA

The exercises I posted earlier this month in a spoiler were specifically for osteoporosis. They had 3 versions of yoga poses depending on the severity of the diagnosis. The list I posted is from my back doctor and helps to strengthen the muscles in your back around the spine. I’ll post them again in this spoiler. They might help. They help me.

Although the exercise might have been labelled as specifically for osteoporosis, they are common yoga and pilates exercises as well as being warm-up stretches for running, cycling and even fencing. :)

    They are good "all-rounders".

I am cheap- I don't spend that much. Love getting the different ones at Black Friday- try them out and if I love them and they aren't too expensive, I will buy online.
I only wash my hair once, maybe twice a week so products last a long time.

Tracey - Your snowmen are very sweet! :D<3 Bet they sell. :o

I'm currently searching Amazon for the 'perfect' wipeable tablecloth for our pancake orgy with the kids on Christmas Eve. It makes the most horrible mess, but I love it. I've already got the GF sprinkles in. :p
We all have a go at making the GF pancakes. And laugh at the results. It's the thin, French style pancakes, 'crêpes', not the fat ones.

I needed 3 km to reach my goal of 200 km of cycling in November. So I went out for a 6.6 km bicycle ride. :)

Then I worked for 3 hours in the garden, mainly digging with my mattock! I'm rather sore now!

I really loved seeing you read your work, Terri. You are so right about a grandchild. <3<3<3 I thought your outfit looked very 'put together', and just right for the occasion near Christmas.

Going downstairs to make the sauce for the cauliflower cheese in a moment, after I've drunk my tea. I blanched the cauliflower at lunchtime. We are having it with black pudding.

Lots of emails flying backwards and forwards about the school year reunion next spring. Looks like I might get a lift, at least one way. I would prefer John to collect me, so I can leave when I want to.

It's my son in Nottingham's birthday today. 48 years old. Nearly old enough for Saga. :p

Our TV recorder is playing up. It's the connection with the TV, so I actually think it's a TV problem. But we have to disconnect and reconnect it each time. Boo! My son offered us his old one recently, so I wonder if that's the best option.

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

My friend's daughter made it to Belgium...They hope to return middle of next week. I know it is overwhelming the number of people who show up in times like these. I am hoping to just go to her home and just be there and let her do the talking and help out where I can. I also know that after everyone leaves and gets back to their lives it can be hard. I still think of how the Muslim Culture handles a death. One of the aids at a school I worked in lost a child to a car accident. The woman came prepped food and we just sat in a big circle surrounding the mother. Those closest to her sat on either side of her protecting her. A lesson our culture could learn from them. Sometimes the need is to just show up!

I got some candy to load my Advent calendar which is wooden and I fill each year with Hershey kisses - 2 each day, one for DH, one for me. We both enjoy that tradition.

:) In the book I'm reading that has sort of a Christmas theme, the writer tells the story of someone who loaded an Advent calendar with chocolates except that in several of them, loaded no chocolate and substituted a note that said "Life's not fair."

[bour daughter just sent us a Mom journal and a Dad journal, for the two of us to write down the answers to all kinds of questions. I swear, it's like she's never met her dad. I can barely get him to write a list for the store! Writing down his feelings about things. Good grief. I handed it to him without commentary, and he said, "I don't even like reading paper books now. Certainly not going to WRITE one."

:) Jake's daughter (the one I think is terrific) sent him a similar journal a few years ago and he chose his words carefully to tell her that he appreciated the sentiment but there wasn't a chance in the world that he would answer any of the questions. In the abstract, it sounds like a great gift, but I wouldn't answer the questions either.
