Workout: Cardio - Incline treadmill walk - 1hr (798 calories)

Food: Last night was lasagna with side salad

Fantasy Football: I went 2-4 in my leagues this week...

Team 1: L (8-5) (#2 scoring team on the week, faced the #1)
    Team 2: L (5-8)
    Team 3: W (8-5)
    Team 4: L (3-10)
    Team 5: W (9-4)
Team 6 (Niner's League): L (7-6) Another week, another loss with a player on my bench exploding for week-winning points. Sigh. At one point I was 7-4 and simply needed one win in the final three weeks to clinch a playoff spot; I've lost the first two chances, now my final chance is this week when literally half my roster, including all but one of my best players, are on bye, so I'll be using a bunch of scrubs I've picked up over the weeks. Zero faith in getting it done, but I will still submit the best lineup I can, because hey, even scrubs can explode any given week.

But all my fantasy football frustration pales against the exhilaration from my IRL Broncos actually playing meaningful and competitive football in December for the first time in a decade! Sure, the game last night should not have been as close as it was, but bottom line is we're 8-5, darn near beat the reigning champions, currently hold a ticket to the playoffs, and ain't nobody overlooking us now! Vegas and all the "experts" figured we would win, at best, 5 games all year; not only are we blowing all expectations out of the water, but next offseason we'll have all our draft picks and an extra $65 MILLION dollars of cap space to sign whoever we want! I have goosebumps, people!

    Hey gang!

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Humpday! Open the store and hopefully not be bored to death from hardly anyone in the mall since Black Friday.

    Cardio: jog/walk- 30 minutes (300 calories)

Strength: biceps- barbell curls, dumbbell curls, preacher curls, cable curls 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Panda Express for dinner since I closed yesterday. I was really looking forward for Mason to take over for CMC, but he landed on the IR, so I'll have to find a replacement. Hopefully I win this weekend and at least 2 people lose so I can clinch a spot for the playoffs.

Yeah, I'm actually doing the opposite of what you are the last 3 weeks. Had I just won the 2 very close one's before this, I'd already be in.

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Thursday! Another slow day at work yesterday. Today I'll close the store, but because I have an appointment today, I won't go in till 6pm. Lol, I'll only be there for 3 hours. At least I'll get my workout in today.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: back- pulldowns, bent over barbell rows, seated cable rows, pullovers 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Steak and rice for dinner. Well this weekend determines who makes the final 2 spots for the playoffs. Only person I'm wishing luck to is me. :D Oh and the opponents I need to win against the other teams that will knock me out. :D

Food: Last night was home grilled burgers

Fantasy Football: Things do not look good in mine and Niner's league, but it could be even worse in one of my other leagues where I am 8-5 and there's a very real chance I miss the playoffs, since there are 7 teams at 8-5 or better competing for 6 playoff spots. Somebody is going to be very disappointed after this week, and I just hope it ain't me!

    My first post here.

As @ninerbuff says, I love myself unconditionally.

Now, as some of you know, I had the vertical sleeve gastrectomy ie WLS. One of my pet peeves is seeing someone I haven't in awhile, as I look radically different, and having them comment "Oh, you must feel so much better!"

For awhile I would just sort of shrug and say something agreeable, but I've thought about it alot, and I didn't feel bad before, but I had to get my weight down. So I've started answering that "I feel different, sure" and shutting down the convo.

The implication that I must have felt bad before seems moralistic. Sure, I was very obese, but I didn't have any health conditions otherwise and I worked an active job and was involved in my kids activities and lofe. It wasn't like I was bed-bound with 12 health conditions.

I know people probably mean well by this, but it feels almost demeaning.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy TGIF! We got a shipment on Tuesday, so not sure if I'm getting one today, but hoping so so I have something to do since Friday's are usually a slow day.

    Cardio: jog/walk- 3 miles (350 calories)

Strength: triceps- rope pressdowns, overhead tricep extensions, dips, lying tricep extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment Dinaguan with rice for dinner and pineapple for dessert. My opponent had the Detroit D last night and didn't have a great outing which is good. Lol, one of the guys dropped the Denver D yesterday so I picked them up in case I make the playoffs! :D But like nossmf said, there's going to be a lot of disappointed people come Monday after the game. I'm set in my other leagues where I'm 2nd and already clinched a playoff spot and in the other, I'm in a 4 way tie for the final spot. I do have the second highest points in that league, but not by much from the 3rd person who has the same record and is also vying for the final spot. Gotta love FFL.

People view weight as the measurement initially as a measure of health. While you may not have felt bad, trust the science that eventually you'll likely have suffered from a health issue that could come upon you suddenly with no real indications. Be it diabetes, heart disease, etc.
The great thing is that you've gotten it going in the right direction. I've seen over the decades how being able to get in control over one's weight can definitely not only change their health, but their outlook on life as well.

@ninerbuff I am a RN. I do trust the science, which is why I took the drastic step of surgery after what feels like a lifetime of trying to lose. You can't deny that many people tend to view obesity through a morally judgemental lens though.

absolutely. There are always going to be people who judge those who look to be overweight thinking they aren't fit or athletic...................till they run into an NFL lineman. :D

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy weekend! Close tonight so my start is late today. Did receive shipment yesterday, so I was kept busy for the first 3 hours by unboxing and putting products away. Lol, after that the hours crept by till I left.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: quads- linear leg press, Smith machine squats, bulgarian squats, leg extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Pork chop and vegetables for dinner. After I chilled a little on the sofa then hit the bed earlier than usual cause I was just tired. Anxious for tomorrow cause it's going to help decide who's going to play in post season in my league.

    Weights: Lower Body

    Squat 4x10
    BB Hip Thrust 4x10
    Leg Press <<superset> Leg Press Calf Raise 4x10, 15, 20, 25
    Seated Leg Curl 4x10
    Cable Crunch 4x10, 15, 20, 25

Analysis: Gym was incredibly busy today for a Saturday. Normally I walk in to see maybe a dozen or so regulars; today there were at least 50 people lifting, including using all 8 squat racks, the leg press machine and the hip thrust machine. No BB curls or OHP either; all squats, deadlifts and Olympic cleans. Had to wait 15 minutes before a station opened and I could begin.

Food: Last night was a Sonic burger and tater tots (no time to cook before choir Christmas concert, too late after)

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy weekend! One client then I'm off the rest of the day. Just a regular routine Sunday for me.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: hamstrings- seated leg curls, lying leg curls, stiff legged deadlifts 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Panda Express for dinner last night. Another boring day at work although I did get some good sales on the ones I did last night.
Tonight we'll have a pretty solid idea of who's going to be in the playoffs for FFL. I need 2 of 3 teams to lose in order to get in. One is my BF who was my best man in my wedding. The other a friend who beat me in the finals about 5 years ago and the last is nossmf whom I invited to join our league this year. May the best teams advance.

I saw an inspiring interview from a member of the women's rugby team at the Olympics this summer. She weighed at least 200 lbs -- she mentioned her weight but I don't recall the exact # now -- and was super fit but said she still sometimes got comments.

Short walks this weekend but lots of time on my feet yesterday (call it a pre-Christmas baking extravaganza plus Christmas parade watching). My lower back was hurting last night. But a fun day overall, especially given that I had my CT scan Friday and the results didn't appear on the Healow app the same day like they did last time. I'm trying not to freak out (semi-succeeding). I see my oncologist tomorrow.

I didn't lose any weight this past month, so lost round 2 of the DietBet I'm in right now. Doubling down now, holiday treats be darned!

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Monday! I close store tonight so in for a long day, but at least the 9ers won keeping their slim hopes of making the playoffs alive. And Warriors split with Timberwolves to help stop their losing streak.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: shoulders- machine shoulder press, rope face pulls, rear lateral raises, side lateral raises, single arm cable side laterals, shrugs with dumbbells 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Sushi last night for dinner. On the FFL front, I thought I was toast because the 2 of the 3 teams I needed to lose were shellacking the teams they were playing the first set of NFL games. Come the second set and last night's games, one of the two lost (sorry nossmf) and the other can lose IF his opponent scores 29.9 points tonight (a good chance since the player has averaged over 30 points the last 3 games and plays an abysmal Cowboys team tonight) and I score at least 30 points ( I have the second best QB, best WR and a decent RB tonight) and I'm in the playoffs! So I'll be watching the game tonight anxiously to see what happens.

    Weights: Upper Body - Power

    Bench Press 5x8
    Cable Row 5x5
    Mac Decline Press 5x5
    Machine High Row 5x12, 10, 8, 6, 4
    Seated BB OHP 3x12
    Preacher Curl 3x8
    Cable Pushdown 3x10
    Cable Woodchoppers 3x10

    Food: Last night was chili

Fantasy Football: Ain't FF grand? Lost the last two weeks when my team was at full strength and favored to win, so really needed a win this week. Only problem was, due to bye weeks, literally half my team (including my top three players) were unavailable. Massive hole at RB2, massive deficit to overcome on the week. At the last second I heard about Breece Hall being out, so I picked up Isaiah Davis (normally the Jets RB3, promoted to RB2 this week) out of desperation, and holy cow it worked, dude scored 25 points for me! My RB1 scored 38! I had not just a lead, but a BIG lead, I was going to make the playoffs!

It was at this moment I stopped paying attention to NFL so I could be a part of my church choir's Christmas concert, didn't come back to NFL until in the evening. My FF world came to a screeching halt when I saw my opponent's QB scored 76 points by himself!!! (For comparison, a spectacular day is 40+, and he almost doubled THAT!) Lost by 10 points, meaning I could have overcome up to 65 from the guy, still an insane number, but alas, not to be.

At least my IRL Broncos are 8-5 and cruising to a playoff spot (76% chance to make it, 90%+ if we win this next week).

So my CT scan was clear. Yay! But not perfect: it showed some mild degeneration in my spine. The two lung nodules the CT scan picked up in Feb. are no longer present, just mild scarring of the upper lungs. Wonder why: I've never smoked or lived in a house with someone who did. Never had pneumonia. Covid, though. Had that 2-3 times.

Happy Tuesday! Off today, but still have a conference call. Just relax on my day off.

    Cardio: Walking/jog- 260 calories

Strength: chest- Hammer incline bench, machine flat bench, dips, cable crossovers 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Porkchops, rice and salad. On the FFL front I'M IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!! Lady luck was with me last night as what I needed was for 2 teams to lose and unfortunately for one of my brother's here (nossmf) he had to lose for me to get in. Now if I can just get past the 1st round!

Workout: Cardio - Incline treadmill walk - 1hr (798 calories)

Food: Last night was brown sugar chicken and carrots with wild rice

Fantasy Football: Lousy final week of the regular season, I only went 1-5 in my leagues this week...

    Team 1: W (9-5) - Playoff bound!
Team 2: L (5-9) - Took over this dynasty league this past offseason, got some work to do
    Team 3: L (8-6) - Playoff bound!
    Team 4: L (3-11) - #1 rookie pick next year
    Team 5: L (9-5) - Playoff bound!
Team 6 (Niner's League): L (7-7) Oh, how the mighty have fallen. After week 5, I was 4-1 and in first place, top scoring team in the league, flying high. Middle of the season I went 3-3, losing twice thanks to players getting injured mid-game, but even after week 11 I was 7-4 and in control of my playoff destiny, needing only one more win to get in. But then began a string of stupid decisions on my part, starting the wrong player twice, dropping my team defense before I needed to, and then facing the buzzsaw of Josh Allen's 6-TD game, and poof, I dropped my last 3 games and miss the playoffs on a tiebreaker. Only myself to blame for missing the dance in my only pay-to-play league. Will have something to prove next year!

Happy weekend! Closing store tonight. Hopefully it's not too slow for a weekend. Yesterday our shipment was 3 times the size as normal, so at least I was busy.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: quads- linear leg press, Smith machine squats, bulgarian squats, leg extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Crossing my fingers for the weekend and hoping for a win.
