Food: Last night was pancakes and eggs for dinner.

Fantasy football: My top player scored under projection for the first time since week 1, so yay. I have Burrow in another league, but it's a dynasty league where I have both him and Josh Allen, who I chose to start vs Indy rather than anybody vs Baltimore. Go fig.

Here's hoping your hot start works better than mine did a few years back when I had Peyton Manning throw 7 touchdowns on opening weekend of the season, and between having him, his TE and his WR I started the week with 150 pts to his zero. Laughed all the way to Monday, when he came back to beat me anyway.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy weekend! I love quad day! I close tonight and the last couple of Saturdays have been boring. But it's coming up on on Black Friday soon and our stores will be starting it one week earlfoy. Ugh, so a lot of prep has to be done before then.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: quads- linear leg press, Smith machine squats, bulgarian squats, leg extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Taco Bell for dinner last night. I actually have to get new tires after a few years of running on the old ones. Found a deal where it'll only cost me under $500 dollars. The cheapest I could find which is good since I only plan to run the vehicle till the end of next year and my travel isn't usually more than 40 miles a day. On the FFL front, it feels great going into the weekend with an 80 point lead, but hell I lost last week be just over a point and many other games that were close too. I DO NEED TO WIN though to even have a chance at playoffs.

Workout: Shoveling ice/snow off back deck - 30 minutes

Analysis: After three days of non-stop snow, I was afraid the deck would collapse from the weight sitting on it, so I shoveled it off. Had to work to pick up the ice caused by the dogs constant walking around every time they went outside. Good thing I did, too...despite the small surface area, I reckon I cleared several hundred pounds, if not a thousand, worth of snow. That's what 18-20 inches of wet snow will do to you!

    Food: Last night was empanadas.

Fantasy football: My opponent is now projected to be favored by a good 15 points heading into the weekend. I am fully aware those projects are almost always off, sometimes by a good margin, but I can't say I like my odds. Oh, where has my unbeatable team from weeks 2-5 gone?

@ninerbuff --dinner tonight was Panda Express! Also, sorry to hear your workers' hours have been cut. That's tough.

Lots of chores on this Saturday, including a treadmill run and some conditioning exercises.

Part of the reason I left Virginia in 2010 was because I HATED SHOVELING SNOW at 4:30 am in the morning to clear the driveway so ex could drive to work. And since it was that early, you couldn't use a snow blower.

Yeah, it's gonna be rough if I don't get an increase in hours when the mall's hours increase after Thanksgiving.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy weekend! One client then I'm off the rest of the day. Still gotta clean the house and do laundry and grocery shop, but for the latter two I can watch football while doing it.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: hamstrings- seated leg curls, lying leg curls, stiff legged deadlifts 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Poke bowl for dinner. I hardly eat rice with it anymore and just get mixed greens as my base, but lots of raw seafood and cooked shrimp in it. On the FFL front, even though I'm projected to win, I've seen crazy *kitten*. My opponent was up by 40 last week and I came within 1.5 pts of beating him. So you can't count a win until the games are over Monday night! But without a win, I'm likely out of playoff contention at all.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Monday! Ugh, 9ers barely win and in FFL I likely got eliminated from post play after losing again by a small margin of points. Not much going on today except regular work schedule and a client this morning.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: shoulders- machine shoulder press, rope face pulls, rear lateral raises, side lateral raises, single arm cable side laterals, shrugs with dumbbells 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Sushi last night for dinner. Only chance I have to make post play is to win out and hope that teams 4,5,6,7,8,9 all lose along the way. :D:D:D:D

    Weights: Upper Body - Power

    Bench Press 5x8
    Cable Row 5x5
    Mac Decline Press 5x5
    Machine High Row 5x12, 10, 8, 6, 4
    Seated Smith OHP 3x10
    Preacher Curl 3x8
    Cable Pushdown 3x10
    Cable Woodchoppers 3x10

Analysis: Was really feeling like a beast in the gym today, hitting all my reps and even increasing weight. Not sure how much can be attributed to the HCl creatine and how much to having basically taken last week off, but I'll enjoy the ride either way!

Food: Last night was orange chicken with rice

Fantasy Football: With my probable win this week (Puca Nakua could still ruin things, but I have a lead and Waddle, so I like my chances) and my rival losing, I'm only a game back with four weeks to play. I eagerly checked the schedule to see when our rematch from week 1 would be, and discovered that despite being my division rival I only play him once this year, where I play multiple opponents from the other division twice. So much for getting payback before the playoffs start.

Workout -- 35 min. on the treadmill: 15 min. jogging 5 mph / 15 min walking 3.5 mph / 5 min walking 3 mph at a 5% incline. Then 20 min. of calisthenics (lunges, candlesticks) and free weights (2 sets biceps curls; lateral raises; dumbbell overhead press; skullcrushers); 10 min. of stretches; 20 minutes of walking across campus with the last of the autumn leaves on display.

Food: I checked out Julie Morris's Superfood Smoothies from the public library because I was in a rut, so this morning's smoothie: Raspberry Pineapple (also spinach, banana). Stay tuned for more exciting variations!
Lunch: green salad with Caesar dressing; Supper: rotisserie chicken and rotini pasta with homemade tomato cream sauce. And a family member made dinner, so that's a bonus.

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Tuesday! Off today but still have to take a conference call. At least I get paid for it. Also train a client this morning.

    Cardio: Walking/jog- 260 calories

Strength: chest- Hammer incline bench, machine flat bench, dips, cable crossovers 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Spaghetti last night for dinner. Only consolidation for me this week is that the Lambs lost last night. With chances of FFL out the door again, it's time to just go with my 9ers and Dubs.

Workout: Cardio - Incline treadmill walk - 1hr (818 calories)

Food: Last night was chicken strips and fries

Fantasy Football: I went 3-3 in my leagues this week...

    Team 1: L (6-4)
    Team 2: L (4-6)
    Team 3: W (6-4)
    Team 4: W (3-7)
    Team 5: L (6-4)
Team 6 (Niner's League): W (6-4) There's a whole glut of teams all within a game of playoff status, so every week counts. And here I'm staring down week 14 when half my team will be on bye. At the start of the year I wasn't worried, figured I would have a big enough edge to absorb the automatic loss; now, it may end up costing me unless I can get a winning streak going the next few weeks.

NFL: Still banging my head about the way my Broncos lost to the Chiefs, with them blocking a chip-shot field goal. We won that game, but a single fluke play cost us. Still in playoff position technically, but darn it, what could have been...

Happy Humpday! Open the store today. Nothing important to do today but just get work done.

    Cardio: jog/walk- 30 minutes (300 calories)

Strength: biceps- barbell curls, dumbbell curls, preacher curls, cable curls 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Pork adobo with rice and salad for dinner last night. The DUBS got a huge win last night in the last minute on a Curry pointer with the return of Klay Thompson with the Mavericks last night. Exciting game. Loving the Warriors and their deep bench play.

Happy Thursday! After all the budget cuts, I got the new hire opening the store the first time by himself. I show up an hour later, but hopefully he doesn't freak out too much since it's only his second week.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: back- pulldowns, bent over barbell rows, seated cable rows, pullovers 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Lamb and salad for dinner. On the FFL front, I really need some people to lose and of course me to win to even sniff the playoffs. My chances right now are 5%. So hoping teams, 6,7,8 all lose this week.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy TGIF! Today is shipment day and though it's a lot to usually put away, at least it'll keep me from being bored like yesterday. I had a total of 9 customers all day. Also hired a new employee since one of the guys is actually leaving mid December after being here 2 years as a stand in manager before me.

    Cardio: jog/walk- 3 miles (350 calories)

Strength: triceps- rope pressdowns, overhead tricep extensions, dips, lying tricep extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment Steak and vegetables for dinner. On the FFL front, my opponent has his better players on bye and his QB was short of projection. But in FFL anything can happen and I can't claim any victory until the last game is played on Monday.

    Weights: Upper Body - Hypertrophy

    Incline Bench Press 4x10
    DB Bench Press 3x10
    BB Row 4x10
Pulldown 3x10 (1 set each hands over, under, neutral-grip)
    Machine Reverse Fly 3x10
    Machine Lat Raise 3x10
    DB Shrugs 3x10
    Preacher Curl 3x10 (3-second negatives)
    DB Preacher Hammer Curls 4x10
    Cable Pushdown 3x10 (5-second negatives)
    Perloff Press 3x10, 20, 30sec

Analysis: The preacher curl station was super popular today, busy the entire time I was at the gym. So when it came time for my preacher curls (saved for last just in case the station opened up...no dice), I had to improvise away from the machine station and instead propped up a weight bench at a maximum angle, propped my armpit at the top, and did DB hammer curls using the bench to keep my arm motionless. (I had to do hammer curls because the torque was uncomfortable doing them with wrist facing up.)

Food: Last night was baked chicken with buttered noodles

Happy weekend! Quads this morning and I have to drop my daughter off at work at 6am, so I got up a little earlier than normal to go get legs done before walking. I have to close tonight so I'll have to eat at the mall and usually it's Panda Express for me so I can just get a two item plate for lunch and dinner.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: quads- linear leg press, Smith machine squats, bulgarian squats, leg extensions 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Popeye's chicken sandwich. I had a lot of calories to spare for dinner so I indulged since I haven't had it in over a month.

Workout: Walking for hours between grocery shopping plus Xmas shopping plus Thanksgiving shopping...

Food: Last night was a failed attempt at making Buffalo drumsticks.

Fantasy football: Just found out TE Kittle may not play today, who happens to be the only TE on my opponent's team. With that one change I go from being a 13-pt underdog to a 4-pt favorite vs the top-rated team in the league.

HCl Observations: It's been about 10 days of taking the HCl version of creatine, I've gotten in a half dozen workouts using it, thought I'd put on paper some observations:

    1. Aesthetically - the tiny amount does nothing to change my morning drink taste-wise, but is far more effective in dissolving for maximum consumption, as opposed to the monohydrate creatine which leaves a residue of undissolved powder on the bottom of the cup
    2. Functionally - my lifting workouts using either form are virtually identical in terms of weights used etc, though my cardio sessions are noticeably easier using the HCl
    3. Visually - from my reading, the HCl version works without drawing extra water into the cells, which implies using it will allow water currently there from the monohydrate to leave the cells. I can confirm this both from my weight dropping 5 lbs in the last two weeks, as well as in the mirror where I simply look smaller. Smaller, yet at the same time slightly more muscular, as the definition has increased. Haven't decided which I prefer yet, looking swole or looking cut.

    Hey gang,

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Monday! So pissed the 9ers lost to Seattle yesterday. I did change the thermostat on my van but had to do it twice because the first time I didn't get a good seal and it leaked. 2nd time, no problem. Saved myself over $400+ dollars of repair with an $18 part and buying coolant on my own.

    Cardio: Walk/jog- 260 calories

Strength: shoulders- machine shoulder press, rope face pulls, rear lateral raises, side lateral raises, single arm cable side laterals, shrugs with dumbbells 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Sushi last night for dinner. On the FFL front, I won!!! And all the teams I needed to lose looks like they will. Now all I gotta do it repeat it 3 more times. :D

Food: Last night was homemade pizza

Fantasy Football: Going into SNF, I was kicking myself for having made the wrong starting selection at QB and flex, feared I was going to lose to a team who kept an inactive player in his lineup. But then Herbert went off (not as much as Nix, but close) and his TE went off with him, helping to cover my poor flex choice. So now going into MNF I'm up 48 and all he has left are his PK and DEF. I like my chances.

Quick trip to Dallas for a weekend conference: lots of airport walking Friday and Saturday.

Also restaurant meals: huge veggie omelet Friday lunch; fish 'n chips Fri supper; the hotel's scrambled eggs (powdered, probably) and cantaloupe & grapes for Sat. breakfast; greens and chicken salad for Sat. lunch; chicken tikka masala protein bowl for Sat. supper; plus a couple of dessert bars for a snack at the conference.

Sun: home again, made a hash brown casserole with veggies for lunch; rotisserie chicken and popcorn for snack / supper, wherein I managed to burn not one small bag, but two in a row.

Mon: the leftover pancake my son didn't eat for breakfast; an egg and avocado bagel sandwich for lunch; chicken and stuffing with celery and onions for supper. A hot chocolate for dessert.

These choices are at best, maintenance. Time to cut some calories to make the Diet Bet weigh-in in Dec.

Exercise: just a few short walks the past 2 days. My leg muscle doesn't hurt anymore, so maybe I'll try some light running tomorrow.

    Hey gang

    I like myself unconditionally!

Happy Tuesday! Off today. I go to my dad's house today to pick him up and go to get legal paperwork signed for him to sign over POA and living trust since he's 91 now. He's still in decent health, but short term memory has really kicked in and he leaves it up to us on how to make sure all the bills are paid and any financial decisions. Luckily there is no fighting between us siblings on anything with money.

    Cardio: Walking/jog- 260 calories

Strength: chest- Hammer incline bench, machine flat bench, dips, cable crossovers 4x12,10,8,6

Assessment: Steak and salad for dinner. With a win I'm barely alive, but if I can pull off wins and with some help from others, I can still make the playoffs. It's just sad that I've been one of the top scorers the last few games and have only won a couple of games.

Workout: Cardio - Incline treadmill walk - 1hr (808 calories)

Food: Last night was spaghetti with side salad

Fantasy Football: I went 4-2 in my leagues this week...

    Team 1: W (7-4)
    Team 2: W (5-6)
    Team 3: L (6-5) (lost by less than a point, 213.4-212.6)
    Team 4: L (3-8)
    Team 5: W (7-4)
Team 6 (Niner's League): W (7-4) (I needed every bit of that 48-pt cushion going into MNF, as my opponent had Houston's defense which scored 37 by itself so I only won by 4)

Technically all of my leagues are still in playoff contention (even the 3-8 one), but realistically I have high hopes for playoffs in three leagues, with Team 3 uncertain due to being one of several 6-5 teams vying for a single playoff slot (that single point stings).

This week is killing me with the teams on bye combined with injuries, as two of my teams now have zero QB's available. One I placed a waiver claim for Rush from Dallas, the other for DeVito from NY Giants. Far from ideal, but hopefully nobody else is going to compete with me for them.

NFL: My Broncos are 6-5 and in playoff position, and will be favored for the next two games. Take THAT Vegas, who predicted we'd win 5 or fewer games all year! Broncos Nation has fallen completely in love with Bo Nix, and cannot understand why he's not getting more support for Offensive Rookie of the Year consideration. It's always Daniels, Daniels, Daniels. He's done fabulous things, sure, but Nix has almost as many yards, has more touchdowns, and if not for a blocked field goal he cannot influence, he would have the same win-loss record. Win or not, at least consider Nix.

Assessment: Chicken adobo with rice and salad for dinner last night. I went to bed early last night after spending the day at my dad's and also doing some legal stuff for him before I leave next year to Philippines. It was good to see him and his funny sense of humor he has.
