    Hi everyone,

@Bemybestby60, please don't be discouraged. The holiday season is one of the toughest times of year for all of us to keep our intake within set limits. For myself, I think I need to revise my goal for December. This morning I weighed the same as yesterday - 154.6. At this rate I don't think I will meet my goal of 148 or less by the new year. With less than four weeks to go, I will be happy if I get down to 150-152 by then! Oh, well. I will try to step up my indoor activity over the next few weeks to see if I can adjust the energy in/vs. energy out enough to lose another 4-5 lbs. by January 1st.

    Enjoy your day everyone!

    Hi everyone,

    February 29, 2008 - 217 (All-time highest weight before I joined)
    Goal Range - 132-140
    Restart Weight: 154.8
    New Year's Day.Goal - 150 (or less)

Here's the update for today (in pounds):

    11/20/24: 154.8
    11/27/24: 154.2
    12/04/24: 154.6
12/11/24: 153.0 (lbs. lost since restart: 1.8, total lost: 1.8)

I haven't been feeling well the past few days. Turns out. I have COVID (again). The first time was Halloween, 2022. I've now had a total of 11 COVID shots, including the latest booster on 9/21; so I hope it's a milder case this time! I started having symptoms on Sunday and tested positive on Tuesday.

Wish me luck! I'll check back in tomorrow.

@Walela617 Carole hope you are feeling better. I stopped at my fourth covid shot. I am pretty sure I had covid but never tested positive. I am thinking I am asymptomatic. But I do get some doozy flu's once in awhile.

My weigh-in for Wednesday was 194lbs. I am trying to hit 190lbs. I still believe I can do it. I will be traveling alot in the next two weeks. I am thinking that should help. I don't indulge too much when I travel.
    Cheers Mary

    Hi Mary, (@Bemybestby60)

Thanks so much for your well wishes!🌹 My sister stopped at (I think) 5 shots and she's had COVID three times, two hospitalized, but she has rheumatoid arthritis and is immunocompromised. (Hope that flu stays away from YOU!) I am feeling a little better today. My headache is gone and I was able to work from home today, although I'm still testing vividly positive with mild symptoms and a slight fever. My right ear feels blocked as well, but I guess it's part of the congestion.6pc48uegt730.jpgWe have three weeks until the new year. I think 4 lbs. gone by then is a very reasonable goal. I think you can do it! (I'd like to do the same.)

Best wishes for your upcoming traveling.

    Have a nice night,
    πŸ’— Carole

    Hi everyone,

    Goal Range - 132-140
    Restart Weight: 154.8
    New Year's Day.Goal - 150 (or less)

Here's the update for this week (in pounds):

    11/20/24: 154.8
    11/27/24: 154.2
    12/04/24: 154.6
    12/11/24: 153.0
12/18/24: 151.8 (lbs. lost since last week: 1.2, total lost since restart: 3.0)

I sure hope this week's loss isn't just a temporary loss due to COVID (I definitely wasn't eating as much but have resumed normal eating as of yesterday.) I guess we'll find out on Christmas morning, 12/25!

I can hardly believe we have less than two weeks to go until the New Year, but here we are! I'm starting up a new, 11-week challenge that runs from Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 through Wednesday, March 19th 2025 (the LAST day of winter)! You are most welcome if you'd like to join me there! It's called, "COUNTDOWN to S*P*R*I*N*G, 2025!" and it's in the Challenge pages. It officially begins on January 1st, but you can hop on anytime before then if you'd like to post on the board. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10928921/countdown-to-s-p-r-i-n-g-2025#latest
Have a great day and very best wishes for the holidays ahead!

Many thanks for your well wishes, @Bemybestby60! I am no longer running a temp and my COVID test is now negative. I still have some residual symptoms like ear congestion but it's not too bad. I just need more rest, I think.

Best wishes for your travels and a safe journey home!

My weight loss journey started when I was 15 years old. I had a 26 inch waist with 36 inch hips. I thought I was fat. This is where I developed poor body image. This is where I started my life on yo yp dieting.
My highest weight was 204lbs on July 1, 2020. My lowest weight as a woman was 1981 @ 119 lbs. I was 5' 7". My healthiest time frame was in 1980 when I was 140 lbs and was lean.
My weight today is 192lbs at 64 age.

    Hi everyone,

WOW, @Bemybestby60! I don't don't think I ever had a 26-inch waist! The smallest waist measurement I can remember is 28.5", and that was a long, loooong time ago! (My hips were always small, as in no "booty" at all!) I can relate about the poor body image leading to all the "yo-yo dieting". That's been the story of my life for almost all my life, from age 13! (I'm 66 right now.) The summer I turned 14 I went from 164 to 124 by the time I started high school. (I also got shingles that summer, and what a horrible experience that was!)

Right now my waist is 37", my hips are 39", but my "potbelly" is 43"! (I'm only 5'3" and always had a big belly, even when I was a child growing up!) My bust is 41 inches of ~ahem~ "low-hanging" fruit! (I apologize for the TMI! πŸ˜‰)

My highest weight was 217 on 02/29/2008, the year I turned 50. My lowest adult weight averaged between 132-134 when I was in my lower 20's. I'd love to get back to that weight, but I'd be happy to get down to 140, hopefully by Spring.

I gained more weight than I expected once I recovered from COVID. This morning the scale read 156.8. I was 152.2 on December 1st! (Yikes! I gotta get it together and stop with the " holiday eating") I did eat a lot yesterday; so I'm hoping some of that is water weight from all the low quality food I ate.

Boston got about 4 inches of snow yesterday. I won't be going out until Monday. It's only 27Β° right now and tomorrow it's not expected to get out of the teens, not even counting the wind-chill factor!

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi everyone,

I was relieved yesterday, when the scale read 152.4, which is just 0.2 lb. up from December 1st. I plan to be extra careful over the remaining 10 days of the year because I want to try to get down to 150 or less by then!

Hello everyone, Happy Christmas Eve, Eve!

My scale has been inconsistent, at times. I now have a 15 lb. dumbbell that normally weighs in at 15.4 on this scale; so, I kind of use that as a "calibrator" and if it shows that weight, then I know it's probably right. (Plus, I usually recalibrate the scale and the "zero it out" before weighing 2 or 3 times to make sure it's consistent.)

My weight's been jumping around a lot over the past month, probably because I've been eating inconsistently between too much and not enough (when I had COVID). It looks like it's stabilizing somewhat between 152 and 153, but I'm still hoping to be 150 by the time our challenge kicks off on January 1st. I need to get more activity in to make that happen - definitely!

    Have a great day,
    πŸ’–Carole

    Merry Christmas everyone!πŸŽ„

[Unfortunately, I had four slices of pizza at around 11pm so the scale was not "kind" this morning (157.6!), but I'll give it a few days and hopefully it will right itself by January 1st.] I doubt I will make my goat of 150 by the New Year, but if I get down to 155 by then, I'll be happy.

Enjoy the festive days ahead and special times with your loved ones!

Merry Christmas Carole and a Happy New Year. I just logged into the new challenge you created. Great participation. Well I did weigh in on Christmas day. My weight was 195lb. I went shopping yesterday but only ended up with a microwave oven. I didn't need to try it on to see if it fits. πŸ˜† 🀣
All kidding aside I do feel bloated. I know I have to take better care of myself. All the best. Will weigh in on January 1st, finish this challenge and start the new one. Thanks again.

@Bemybestby60, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you too! I'm so glad you joined the new challenge for countdown to Spring! I will post my final weight for this challenge on Wednesday (which will be the first weight for our new challenge). I will clear my bookmark at the end of next week. I'm not sure whether I can delete these, but I will stop posting to this one and start posting on the spring one.

    Best wishes for the weekend!

I have not been in here to share anything for awhile. I have been sick for 3 weeks, holidays, and babysitting. I weighed 193 at the doctors office today.

    Happy New Carole @Walela617
I had to go back snd look at my starting weight. I started st 195 and finished at 195. I set myself a goal of losing 20lbs.
My take away from this is I didn't change my behavior, did I try...sometimes. The next challenge my goal will be to improve my health.
