Perimenopause Weight Lifting Journey.

Options
I'm not sure if anyone will read this, but here is my introduction.
-Woman.
-Born in 1981 in Queens, New York.
-Currently in Perimenopause.
-Fan of long bouts of cardio (walking 20 miles in one day) because it allowed me to escape life and zone out to music.
-That way of exercising is not helping me see the muscle definition that I had in my 20s and 30s.
-I started 2025 with lifting weights and will gradually move to heavier weights as I get stronger.
-will also be aiming to get 160g of protein per day, as I read that increasing protein intake helps with perimenopause weight gain.

Amazing goal. Question - how are you getting in protein? I see fitness pal recommends eating nuts, but then I'm outside my fat quota fir day.

I find it difficult to find motivation and time. Kids, teacher, life, 45, etc. What does a daily routine look like for you and where do you find motivation for this goal?

45 year old perimenopausical 😅therapist. Had bariatric surgery back in 2022 and chose the road of not being skinny fat. I feel this is the most muscle I’ve had ever but sometimes my energy is depleeeeeeted after a full workday. Still trying to get rid of that middle belly budge
