What to do on days your too mentally exhausted to function?

How do you track your food, exercise, do your daily routines and to do lists on stressful/tiring days?

I found out that I have neurodiversity in my dna and struggle between Autism symptoms and AD(H)D and apparently they fight against each other for control.

I wonder if this is a sign of being too overweight or unfit and if losing weight would give me more energy? How do you get up and go every single day? or is it normal to have like three quiet days a week?

    Hmmm.. thought provoking question.
I’d say it’s normal and people ebb and flow. I don’t always have the drive to go go go but when I do I ride it out. When I’m feeling more tired or stressed or under the weather, I make alterations to my plan, like taking an extra rest day, or walking instead of running, or yoga instead of weights. I try to be flexible with my goals so I can be consistent in working towards them. It’s not all or nothing. It’s everyday balance. What can I do today to work towards my long term goals. What fits into my schedule today? What do I need to feel my best today? I make a plan but also listen to my body and try to be flexible and make adjustments as needed.

I have a routine I have to do everyday (haven't yet) and an extended one for when I feel up to it. My problem with taking rest days is that I struggle to stay within calories. When I actually track, I might have four or five good days then three where I am way over. They say you have to eat something like 3500 calories over maintenance to gain a pound and I reckon I can over that 2 or 3 times somedays.

Did notice that my binge yesterday was three items instead of the seven I would have gotten in the past, so progress?

On a good day, take the time to look back over your diary for meals and snacks that are low calorie, easy to make, and YOU LIKE. Make a list of them and tack them on your refrigerator (or somewhere convenient). Then you'll be ready for the hard days.
As for the exercise, you need a couple rest days to let your body rebuild.

I plan a head. My meal plan for tomorrow is already made. When I cook, I make extra. So logging food for me could take 10 minutes or 10 seconds. but if you preplan your meals on the days when you are frazzled, just eat your plan.

Yeah. Practice makes progress. I’d call that progress. 👍 I havnt been within my calorie budget all this week. So I feel ya.. but at the same time I can see that I’ve snacked less after dinner and got more protein in this week and exercised more. Those are all wins despite my ability to eat the right amount of calories. I may lose more slowly this week or maybe not all. Next week might be different for me and maybe my appetite will lessen and I’ll see that balance I’ve been seeking.

Days where I just can't, for whatever reason (I have a chronic illness and some days I just don't have the spoons), I stick to my basics. I might not weigh and measure, but I will eyeball foods I commonly use, or I'll go for foods that have the nutritional information on the pack so it's a no brainer.

I do also usually have something stashed away in the freezer I can defrost and will already have in my recipes and add.
