Bear in mind I have two replaced hips and a dodgy knee. It's a big bath with tall sides.
I made it without injury.
John was bemused when I said what hard work a bath is. I do a lot of exfoliation, plus feet, shaving, etc. Then afterwards I cut my toenails, which is a contortion in itself. Then lotion.

One of the reasons why I shower.
Our bathtub gets used for the basket of towels when they come in off the line and before I put them away.margaretturk wrote: »Again know the user names and passwords, know what investments and titles and with whom loved one has dealings with example pensions, 401K, homes, cars, have 3 months of income stashed away that is in your name/social security number that you can access when loved one dies. Know where your birth certificate is and marriage certificate are helps too. You will need to change utilities into your name too! It can be a hard enough process anyway but having those pieces in place helps to make some things go better.
Good advice.
On antidepressants
Please don't start and stop your antidepressants suddenly and on your own. Doing that can be harmful - even to the point of having thoughts of suicide.
If you want to stop taking your antidepressants, talk to your doctor about the appropriate way to gradually taper off them.
Stopping suddenly can lead to all sorts of horrible side effects. I know if I miss a dose, I'm a mess.
If you want to start taking antidepressants, talk to your doctor about the appropriate way to ease into taking them.
Starting suddenly can also lead to a number of side effects.
How do you take antidepressants?
Antidepressants typically come in pill (tablet) form. You swallow the pills with a liquid, like water. When you first start taking an antidepressant, your healthcare provider will likely prescribe the lowest possible dose of the medication that they think is necessary to improve your symptoms. Over time, they’ll adjust the dose if necessary.
It can take multiple weeks before you start to experience an improvement in your symptoms.
Treatment usually lasts at least six months after you start to feel better. If you have recurrent, chronic or severe depression, your provider may recommend taking the antidepressant for the foreseeable future.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/9301-antidepressants-depression-medication
How long does it take for antidepressants to work?
It can take four to eight weeks for antidepressants to work and for your symptoms to ease. Symptoms such as sleep issues, appetite, energy or concentration may improve before your mood improves.
It’s important to follow your healthcare provider’s directions and take the prescribed medication for the recommended amount of time before deciding whether it works. Don’t stop taking the medication without talking to your provider first.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/9301-antidepressants-depression-medication
I am on quite a high dose of antidepressants right now, and have been on them for a few years, but I have begun wondering if I need that much. I'm in a pretty good place right now without major anxiety inducing situations.
So I'm thinking of talking to my doctor about it and seeing if I can drop my dose just slightly. I know that will probably trigger a few withdrawal side effects, but not as much as when I miss a dose. And I know that I will have to give it a couple months before I decide if it is the right move.
My doctors and my nurse mother drilled it into me when I went on antidepressants a few months after my husband's accident that a medically supervised, gradual approach for going on and off antidepressants was the best approach.
On News and Newspapers
Do people actually buy newspapers anymore? Generally speaking, I prefer not to follow the news, or at least, not very closely. But when I do, I skim headlines online.
I also prefer not talking about the news with others because I've found that people have quite strong opinions about what they've read or seen on TV. And I either don't care because it doesn't affect me and I've got enough going on in my life that I don't need to take on the world's problems ... or I have a different opinion. I also feel that whatever is on the news is usually affected by the lean or bias of the reporting organisation and that there's often more to the story that we'll never know.
When someone talks to me about the news, I feel forced to do something that wasn't on my list for the day. I feel forced to find out more about what they're talking about, forced to make an informed decision about how I feel about it. It puts a lot of pressure on me and raises my anxiety level.

I went to the funeral of my friend whose husband died on their trip overseas today.
His children spoke, and they did an outstanding job!
Her husband lived his life to the fullest with humor, curiosity, and grace.
I was wondering how it would go for me because it was about a year ago we had my DH funeral.
What I found a bit difficult is when my friend would introduce me to others the first thing she said to others ...She is a widow too! I would pipe up with my name.
In speaking about it with a common friend I said I know I am a widow but it is not the first thing I say to someone I don't know. It is not how I define myself...My attitude is I try to live my life in a way that would make my DH and son proud as I was proud of them.
Rather than focus on widowhood I focus on those people and activities that are important to me.
In time that is my hope for my friend. I realize the wound is fresh for her. She will always miss her husband. He was a gift who having had him in her life will give her strength as she goes forward in her life.

Debbie - getting someone into a home involves a lot of paperwork and conversations. We have people come thinking it’s as easy as dropping a cheque and are surprised, even when they’re told beforehand, that it can take up to 2 hours. Sorry your walking time was interrupted, I know that’s where you find your peace.
Kylia - I used Champix to quit smoking in 2009. I was so worried about gaining weight that I bought a Wii with my first two weeks of no smoking and ended up losing 30lbs. I’ve gained that and more back now.
Ginny - A business man in NB built 99 Tiny homes for the homeless.
https://macleans.ca/society/tiny-homes-fredericton/
Lisa - maybe I should try the chair yoga. It might be enough to get me started
Lanette - Players is what I smoked. It’s funny we used to go to the States to buy them because they were cheaper. 😂 I never liked any of the American brands. I did try Virgina Slims so I could pretend to be Alexis from Dynasty. What a thing to pretend! I was probably 14-15, way too young to be smoking.
I quit 4 months before my 40th.
Rita - I hope you feel better soon. I sent the time travelling joke to my Grandson. He loves those types of jokes.
Rebecca - sorry about your pen pal.
I do tend to bury my head a bit when it comes to the news. I do listen to the news in the radio that gives the highlights and if something piques my interest I watch the tv news or find an article about it. I haven’t read a newspaper in at least 20 years now, but I follow a couple online.
Flea - it’s nice to see you! So many changes in your family. Congratulations! Sorry your daughter’s partner’s parents couldn’t be adult enough to ruin it for them.
There are very few places that pump gas for you here. I pump my own fairly regularly, the regular place I get gas does pump at certain times of day on certain pumps. Sometimes they are so busy I just pump my own.
Machka - I never would have said that when people want to talk news to me I felt anxiety, but that is what I feel. Especially the controversial news. Rodger and I can’t even discuss it.
I’m worried about DH and I. We just can’t seem to get on the same page about anything lately.
I’m tired of it. I’ve tried to talk to him but all I get is “yeah I know it’s all my fault.” I don’t believe it all his fault but I don’t believe it’s all mine either. But as soon as he says that I just stop trying to talk.I was trying so hard to have a good day today, it was the 2nd anniversary of his Father’s death.
He had a nap this afternoon and came into the craftroom. I was looking at my phone because I had posted some free stuff on a local group. He said, “talking to your boyfriend?” He knows this bothers me, has been told for years. Most days I can just be quiet or laugh it off. Today I just snapped at him and told him I hated it, it was annoying and asked why he insisted on saying it. He told me he was only joking and I told him it wasn’t funny. He said something else as he left the room but I didn’t hear it and he refused to repeat himself. I even came out to ask him and he said it didn’t matter. It mattered to me though, but he wouldn’t say.
I left it and went back to the craftroom a while later I came out and apologized for snapping, but reminded him that it bothers me. I’m just so tired of it all. I don’t even want to fight.
On a brighter note, I mostly cleaned the craft room, I got rid of a bag of craft supplies, a sewing machine is going, a shelf, and a bag for the thrift store and a bag for the garbage. Also, a stupid artificial tree we got as a free gift with the couch.
I’ve sent out a group chat with the girls and their friends. I’m missing a craft day. We’ve had one a couple of times a year for about 10 years now and we haven’t had one since April. We are aiming for 2 weeks today. It’s the weekend before my girls birthdays so we can celebrate too.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Greeting from the frigid Rockies. It has snowed non stop for 24 hours and temps are below freezing and dropping. There was nothing urgent requiring my attention today so just spent the day with sports playing on my phone and my nose in a book. Our condo gym had a pipe burst so it's closed till repairs are done. Gah. I really need it after all the restaurant lunches this week. Grateful to the friends who treated me for my birthday. My tenant brought me a huge bouquet of flowers and 2 small fruit and custard tarts which he remembered are my favorite. Scale shows a small bump and I am determined to get that number down very quickly.
Terry and Michele: I used to have very tight hamstrings and lower back. I started StretchLab (assisted stretching clinic) once a week and it has made a huge difference not only in how more flexible I am, but also in my balance. It has been a little over a year since I started, and I still go weekly, and augment with a 37 minute yoga routine which is on the Insight Timer app. Now, I can get up from sitting on the floor without using my hands. I still see a chiropractor and massage therapist every 6 weeks, a practice I continue because it keeps me feeling my best.
Lisa: Sorry about the vertigo. That crapweasel ex-SIL is unbelievable.
Barbie: Thinking of you and sending energy. Yesterday was DH and my 37th anniversary. I had a lump in my throat looking at the framed wedding picture on my bookcase. Feels like yesterday we were exchanging vows in a meadow in Hawaii. The best memories trigger my tears, but a few deep breaths and thank yous directed to the heavens help get me centered again.
Annie: (((hugs))) Sorry you lost your Teddy. You have been through so much. Hope you know you can vent with us.
Someone asked if I had another trip planned. My goal is to visit all the continents. As I write this I am researching Morocco in Northern Africa. It looks fascinating and in my budget. Wouldn't go till late September/October, so stay tuned.
Stay well, friends. We can do this.

Barbie – thanks for the idea. Plexiglass is probably liighter, too
I guess everyone knows that it’s illegal to pump your own gas in NJ. Raised in NJ, I remember how worried I was when we moved to PA and I had to pump my own gas. I’d never done it!
Tracey – if Vince said something like that to me, I’d probably answer “yup,” and then say something outrageous like “we’re planning our trip to France”
Bought the plastic canvas for these tissue holders that I’ll make, one for Jess and one for a dear friend of mine. I think I have to take one sheet back, the directions said that I’d need 3 sheets but I only needed two. I think when the directions for the one said it needed 2 sheets, it didn’t know that the sheets were so big.
Worked on the jigsaw puzzle some. Only 2 hours, that’s enough.

Hi everyone,
I worked Friday, and it was a tough assignment. I had a toddler who had fevers, pneumonia, and RSV. She was breathing so fast. So, she was getting antipyretics regularly. Then, I had another toddler who was very sick for a long time. I gave him medicine for fever as well. I decided to give him a lavender bath and change his bed. After I lotioned him up and exercised his legs, he slept for a while. He had an iPad that was shhhh sounds to calm him. Then I put my fan on him. Then he was fine. Then, I had a patient who was in Juvie for stealing a car. He was so sweet and had good manners. He had a sinus infection that was so bad he needed a craniectomy to remove an empyema. I was exhausted when I got home. My son was not ready to go. When it was all said and done, I got him at the airport at 10:20 am for an 11:00 am flight. He would have missed his plane at any other airport, but he made it. DS is too much like me. He told me that Rose would not let him pack. She kept lying down in his suitcase. I cried as I was driving to take Rose to Day camp. I took 1-hour nap and went to a bridal shower. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow. Now, I need to figure out how to participate in the 5K and go to the wedding the following weekend.
I wondered what happened to the eggs I like buying (Eb). I purchased 18 organic eggs for $8.00. That was a tough pill to swallow. Kroger is limiting our dairy purchases too.
Lisa, your daughter needs some good legal representation to keep that man from hurting her again by holding the kids hostage.
Pip, your pup that was sunning, looks like a baby kangaroo. I guess, because the ears are upright.
I will write more tomorrow, after getting some rest.

Tracey - Big hugs for you. I know you can get some light into this situation. It must be heartbreaking.
Flea - Most of it sounds great, apart from the feuding parents and the overbearing father. How old is she? Congratulations on the wedding and the uni place. Hooray for grandparents!
When I went to university, it was all free, including accommodation, and everyone went as far from the parents as they could get. I must say, I do think going some distance away is good for self-development. Seeing something other than our own little patch of the world.
I've been married twice in what we call a 'register office'. My first wedding (I was 20), my grandmother said she wouldn't come unless I got married in a church. (She did come ). My father, who was very religious, said he wouldn't come if I did. (He was joking, but you get the point). Our 10 guests, at my second wedding to John, said it was the best they had ever been to. We had lunch in the local pub. John had sausage and chips (fries). The whole thing, including my outfit, cost £850.
The only problem was, our town had one of the most beautiful ancient churches in the country. The Register Office was a small, hideous building on the corner of the main road, with road mending works outside. We had to traipse over the road to take photos on a green patch. I did blench at the contrast in aesthetics, but my principles held strong.
Now they have the civil weddings in the beautiful, mediaeval, Old Town Hall.

Allie: Delia is growing so fast. As others have already said, remember to take care of yourself, too.
Barbie: Bravo on navigating you new life so well.
Machka: I can see why you bought that house. The view from the deck is spectacular.
Today will be a restful day. Just general chores and Skype with family after lunch.
Yesterday we cleaned out the porch. Mostly my flower arranging messes 😂 I felt very virtuous as it’s been on my to do list for ages.

Belated welcome @qupo6!
Heather, Velux skylight broke all by itself? I’d be shaken too, thankful no one was hurt. Condolences to your son on the loss of his friend and boss. Humming and watching calming videos helps to lower my blood pressure, good luck!
Terri not sure I’ll ever catch up either, but what you and Lisa said is so true. I stumbled and fell on the sand at drum circle Friday night, was able to get back up with the help of my walking stick but it was scary.
Ginny your insights to Allie about Kyle and his mother, spot on.
Welcome back @heidijjo Heidi in NC. Good luck on your sourdough adventure!
Beth, cockatoos, parakeets and macaws in Bufflo oh my!
Lanette, I’ve heard similar sprinkler-saves-house stories, and our neighbor has a sprinkler system on his roof. I’d ask him to install same at ours, if he ever completed our water system upgrade project… ;}
Belated best birthday wishes, dear Rori!
Joe just started a fire in the wood stove, headed out to be with him.

Today I picked up a small, old display cabinet for our front entrance. I looked at a few modern flatpack options but didn't like any of them. They didn't have any character. So we went to a tip shop today, and I found something I like. It's not big. It's got quite a lot of glass and a mirrored back so it doesn't look imposing. And it has character!
I need to fix it up a bit, but I like it.
I also made dinner! Cooked up some chicken mince and pasta.
Hilarious thing: As soon as I started cooking, Rhody kept walking back and forth between my husband (in his lounge room chair) and me (standing in the kitchen) and meowing really loudly. It was like he was telling me that I was not allowed to be in the kitchen cooking and then going to my husband and telling him that I was in the kitchen cooking!! He seemed very concerned! I was most definitely in the wrong place!
More of our Christmas decorations came down today.

Story time kids - Warning, I'm at flood tide verbally this morning:
Machka - Love the cabinet! Rhody's actions made me laugh. Very unusually, Egg woke me up this morning... Corey was actually up earlier than me, quite different than our usual, and was in the kitchen making coffee. He left the bedroom door open, because she will yell at it if he closes it... so she came in instead and seriously meowed right in my ear. Loudly. Things were not RIGHT as far as she was concerned. It's possible I was just on her side of the bed, as that's when she will go sleep by him, on his weekend mornings, relaxing in bed with his coffee and his laptop, reading the entire Internet. For hours. Whatever I was doing, she didn't like it.
Tracey - More coincidences, I snapped at Corey yesterday, too. He started yelling "Jump, jump!" at a character on the TV that was just about to jump off a cliff on High Potential. It was literally the apex of the story, and I was engrossed, and he yanked me right out of it. He was making a joke, and at one level I knew that, but I always feel it's because he's critical of my choice of show... and said so. But I was in the wrong, so after walking down to the mailbox, I had to come back and apologize, as well. He knows I hate it when he does that, and he knows why because I've told him. To him, though, joking is always OK. Men can be weird.
Flea - I'm sorry the wedding day wasn't all it should have been emotionally. At the end of the day, they're married, but unfortunately, that will just matter later. On the day, everything matters!💗 Pleased your son got in the school he wanted without driving y'all into bankruptcy! $53,000 is just stupid money, unimaginable. That's the cost of an Arkansas house! Glad, too, that your husband got the job, hope he's able to work from home three out of the four weeks a month.
Heather - My first wedding was also at a registrar in the UK, because we were to be married in a Catholic ceremony at the RAFB Lakenheath chapel. Being a dedicated heathen, both then and now, I didn't care how I was married, but refused to convert. However, in Britain at the time, and possibly still, only a Church of England cleric can legally marry you in a church wedding. Since a Catholic priest couldn't marry us legally, we got married on Friday downtown and then by "The Church" on Saturday afternoon. Oh - and the crack about being "a heathen" did not go over well with my new mother-in-law when I met her in Wisconsin a year and a half later. At all. 😜😸🐈⬛ Or that I was a Texan, and not British. How she got a British accent from my Texas tones on the phone I still don't know.
Mo - Sounds like a tough shift, I don't think I could ever do the work you do, where you have to pay that kind of moment by moment attention to so many who need you. I know you and Rose will be missing your son's presence in your day to day life. I know you really enjoyed having him home. There's been a certain comfort in having our son just an hour and a half north for the last year and a half, but we've only seen him a couple of times, so when they go to Florida, it will be little different. Will still text, and phone, and that will be enough. It will have to be.
Thank you all again, Carla, Rori and the rest, for all the support with my feelings about the crapweasel sperm donor waste of skin ex-SIL. My sister and I had a long discussion about it, too, and she told me that everyone who treats her badly ends up having a car wreck - not a bad one, just bad enough to get their attention. We are very different people, but I love talking to her so much.
OK, Ok, I'll quit bending y'all's ears and get this posted. I really need to get moving - I've got a pickup waiting for me at Walmart, and will stop at Aldi on the way back just to get some hamburger for dinner, and some crackers. Hope it is or was a peaceful Sunday for everyone...
Love y'all so much.

I would also like to add about my friend's husband loving...The story her daughter told was an example. Her son had a stuffed bunny that was his security blanket. One time he left it at PABA house. Her father drove twenty miles back home and then back to his daughters just so his grandson could have his bunny. He also retired so he could have more time with his grandchildren.
I am glad I went to his celebration of life service.
I am staying home today. At 9 in the morning it is the actual temp of 11 below zero! With wind-chill way 20-25 below. When it gets that cold if you put out water clothes they become stiff as a board in short order. Frost bite weather!7 -

Lanette - my two friends were having head scans for completely different reasons. B was having a possible spine, nerve problem, (all seems ok) and P was having it for sinus, ears etc. I hope she gets some answers. They are both ex doctors. Both P & B were the very cleverest girls in the whole school. Really exceptional. They do say, that if you have a lot of mental 'reserve', symptoms show up more slowly.
Going to have a chat with L in a minute. She has just sent me a video of water in her kitchen, which has been going on for weeks. She has a new idea about what's causing it.

Mindfulness While Cooking
The kitchen is one of the most creative places to
practice mindfulness. Cooking provides a chance to
be present and aware, as opposed to stressed and
distracted. By allowing the process of cooking to be a
mindful experience, you are able to observe your
thoughts and feelings and explore each of the five
senses, while also creating satisfying & nourishing meals.

● Try to cook enough for at least 2 dinners and 2
lunches and give yourself a break the next day.
● Freeze any leftovers, which will provide you with a
home-cooked meal when you need it.
➢ Plan ahead
● Try to plan out your menu for the week and then
go grocery shopping for the ingredients.
● Your coach can help you to plan meals and
prepare a grocery list.
➢ Prep ahead of time
● Find recipes that allow you to do steps in advance.
● Consider chopping your veggies and fruit,
preparing a sauce, or pre-cooking parts of the
meal in advance to shorten the final cooking time.
➢ Eat more fresh foods
● Find recipes that use more fresh ingredients. This
will help decrease your time over the stove and
help you save time in the long run.
● These types of recipes are loaded with nutrients.

Simple Meals to Get You Started
You don’t need to be a professional chef to be
confident in the kitchen. Many recipe websites have
beginner recipes. There are often step-by-step videos
as well. If you are a beginner, start with very simple
meals. Ask your coach for the 3 basic recipes noted
below. Once you feel good about cooking the easier
recipes, you can try more difficult ones.

Mindfulness When Cooking
Cooking is an excellent activity to do mindfully.
When you take the time to focus on this activity you
can feel more gratitude and appreciation for the
food you are creating.
Here are some tips to help you cook mindfully:
● When you are cooking, only cook.
o Rather than multitasking, try single tasking.
o Not only have studies shown that it is more efficient,
but it also makes it possible to be mindful.
● Focus on each task, keeping your mind from
wandering to future plans or replaying events from
the day, etc.
o If your mind begins to wander, that is okay just gently
bring your attention back to the task at hand, which
is cooking.
● Chop the vegetables with careful attention.
o This will help prevent kitchen knife accidents.
o You can also experience the sensations from cutting
the vegetables, such as the aroma and texture.
● Pay attention to all of the aromas present.
o 70-75% of our taste comes from the aromas of our
food.
o Our sense of smell is keen so enjoy the different
aromas by focusing on them.
DPP: 5 Kitchen Hacks
1. Speed up ripening:
● If you want your fruit to ripen quickly, place the
fruit in a brown paper bag. The fruit gives off
ethylene gas, which is then contained and
concentrated in the bag. This gas will help the
fruit to ripen.
2. Measure sticky foods without the mess
● Coat the measuring cup or spoon with hot water
or cooking oil before measuring sticky foods
(maple syrup, honey etc.) to avoid messy clean
up.
3. Plastic wrap:
● Store plastic wrap in the refrigerator or freezer. It

Lanette, thank you VERY much for the “Help Desk” hint for when calling Social Security.
Margaret does your oven have a “proof” setting? Would that work for your yoghurt?
Rosemarie, another potty training tip, take the pup out immediately after feeding and wait with him/her until s/he produces, then treat and praise like crazy.
@anniesquats100 so very sorry to hear about Teddy boo. (((hugs held extra extra extra long )))
Michele thanks very much for passing on Annie’s note.
Carol brava for walking during commercials!
Rita thanks for the alert about UPS vs USPS. That’s tough for us as we use the PO box to safeguard our stuff from being stolen. Fedex delivers up the lane all the way to our door. UPS does the big stuff, but if they can, they stuff it in the mailbox on the pavement (against postal regulations) and leave it vulnterable. What to do… [sigh]
Rebecca, I’m with you about Tillamook. Umpqua is also local and free of RBST hormones, but best is Rumiano’s (in Crescent City) made from organic local milk. $pendy? Yes, but stocked up when on sale. Pay the grocer or pay the doctor, your choice.
Only scanned pg 19, but pooches tell me its tummy time.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Margaret - ((HUGS))) I think you are right, your friend's wound is so fresh, she is focused right now in terms of who's a widow and who isn't. I remember the first 6 months after DH died, I mentioned that I was a widow a lot to people who didn't know him and who didn't really know me. This is the first time I've realized it! I think we eventually get to know who we are without being someone's spouse.
Flea - wow, so much going on in your life right now! A thought about your DH - once he gets to know his workmates, he might find someone to bunk with a few nights per week while he's in Seattle. Workmate with a spare room, etc. But then he might relish time alone when he's not in the office to recharge.
Tracey - Rodger's behavior with accusing you of having a boyfriend struck a nerve with me. My DH used to do the exact same thing and I'd get so tired of it. I ended up agreeing with him, saying I'm doing this or that with Mr. X so don't interrupt. (Like Michele mentioned.) He must have thought I was superwoman to handle 2 men at once in my 60's no less. I think when men aren't working or are in physical decline due to illness, that really hits their self esteem. Something that I started to do, which worked, was to ask his opinion on just about everything. Like "do you think we should build a fire in the woodstove this morning? It's kind of chilly." Instead of me building a fire in a huff because he wouldn't do it. He'd think about it for a second, then usually say yes and he'd do it. I was surprised how well it worked most of the time, made him feel I needed him. Which I did. It branched out from there to things like "do you think it's too early to till the garden?" And just let his wheels turn, lol.
That fire in the woodstove yesterday was great and I've got one going right now. Sun didn't peek out here yesterday until around 2 pm, otherwise it was that icy fog.
I'm having a problem with this heart monitor. The sensor is attached to an adhesive patch with electrodes that goes over my heart area. I'm becoming allergic to the electrodes and where they are, I'm getting blisters and welts and itching even though I move where the patch placement around. I have a pretty severe allergy to some surgical adhesives so that's probably part of it too. I called the company, they said the electrodes are some type of silver blend so I wonder what the blend is. I'm calling Dr. Lisa tomorrow, hopefully the 2 weeks of info it has recorded so far is enough. I can't deal with this much longer. I just want to slather my whole upper left chest with calamine lotion.
Time to check the fire. Stay warm ladies!!

Rebecca ~ Maybe it's time to say good-by to that pen pal.
I haven't taken my antidepressants since August but have decided I need to take them again as all I have done lately is cry at the least thing. I feel like a blubbering mess! LOL!

Oh yes. Definitely!

After work went to the soup kitchen then Vince and I prebowled three games. I did lousy
Rebecca – isn’t High Potential a good show?
Alsarv – welcome
Rebecca – I’m so sorry you lost the earring. I’ve lost some of the ones that I really liked and it was hard
I really miss my jigsaw puzzles so I got one of those mats so I could roll it up and the cats wouldn’t get at it. It doesn’t work the way I’d like so I’m thinking right now that I’ll put the puzzle out on the table and we’ll just close the door to the downstairs until Vince cuts me a piece of wood that I can put over the puzzle when I’m not doing it. Also, this will be incentive for Vince to get that piece of wood cut. Otherwise, I’m afraid that he’d take his time doing it.
Went for a walk, just a shorter one. I do feel my heel is getting better, but it’s still tender.
Amanda KY – this thread moves VERY fast.
Lisa – my eyes dry out a bit during the summer. I use a Genteel-like eye drop to keep them lubricated.
Vince’s spinal stenosis acted up again today so he’s laying in bed. Hopefully, he will at least be able to sit up for dinner. The last time this happened was 2 years ago, that’s when they diagnosed the spinal stenosis. The bad part is you never know when the bone will hit the nerve. Addendum: so much for getting the wood for the jigsaw puzzle table.
News: I prefer not to watch the news (except for the weather) and just skim the headlines of the newspaper. I depend on Vince to give me the highlights
Flea – you sure have had a lot going on. So glad hubby got a job
Off to work the jigsaw puzzle then probably go to bed. Going to do a Cathe STS DVD tomorrow.

I have a little container of earrings all are dangly ones, cheap ones. I have long since pawned the nice jewelry sadly. Do I actually wear them? Naaah. I have decided to just let my pierced holes fade away.
No real regrets about it. I was never really into it.
So sorry you've lost some important earrings though!

Hope everyone is doing well.
I'm back....have been dealing with things at work getting crazy before my transfer, my husband's anxiety about leaving his job for a new one, and my endo telling me my thyroid has to come out (which I am fighting. I am getting other medical opinions and doing some online digging....seems my test results point to a possible PANCREAS issue, not thyroid...grr.)
Started logging food again today, as I am trying to figure out if my metabolism spiked again (I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid) or if I am under/over eating.
And I really need to start exercising...but I tweaked something in my right foot/ankle/calf, and while the foot and ankle feel better, my calf hurts to touch (one of the cats rubbed up against it, and I yelped.) Also, there is so much planning/computer work to do, and I am simply exhausted. (I have been napping in the early evening after work, getting to bed late, but sleeping 6-7 hours altogether.)
My husband is currently spackling the laundry room, so I plan to work on finances and do a few chores before we start the kitchen floor tiles tonight/tomorrow. (Using the stick on tiles, as the wood floor is so wonky that the click together planks simply wouldn't stay together.)
And the upstairs bathroom is starting to take shape. It should be done by the end of February, fingers crossed.
Just trying to get it all done without losing my mind with all of this going on.

Flea ... Wow! You've had a lot going on! Congratulations to your husband, younger son and daughter.
The News ... I live with someone who has the news on 24/7. It never bothered me when I was deaf, but since the cochlear implant, I am now thoroughly annoyed. We no longer get a paper newspaper. The local was very biased. I do try to read a non-biased news email every morning. 1440. It seems fairly non-biased and gives me the headlines for the day.
Rebecca ... the young penpal has some issues as you noted. I could never go without my earrings. On the days I forget to put some on, I feel undressed.
Yes, Lisa, men are weird.
Tracey ... I think Lanette is on to something with the feeling "needed" part with your husband. I run into this with my husband too as he's aging and his physical abilities are diminishing. Everyone wants to feel needed and useful. Still, no need to get nasty. So when my husband crosses my line, I let him know he needs to rethink his actions/words. Might have had this conversation with him this morning ...
Gray and cold here near Buffalo. Our Buffalo Bills are playing at home tonight. You couldn't pay me to attend the game. I'll be watching from my comfy couch.

Debbie - you are the walking queen, wow. So glad you have friends to walk with, good therapy. Glad MIL has moved, hope things settle back into a better schedule for your DH. AND hope she gets along well at the new place.
Gave in and started a fire in the woodstove this morning. I was chilly all day yesterday, icy fog until about 3 pm then we had a tiny bit of sunshine. 27F and icy fog again this morning so I got the fire lit and the house is getting mighty cozy.
Make it a fabulous weekend ladies!

Thanks- I knew I walked a lot, more than planned most days. It was good for me both physically and mentally. Total for the week was just over 50 miles.
MIL started eating yesterday morning for the new caregiver. MIL said last night that she likes the food there. Such a huge change. Friday night the caregiver was saying that she needed to be put on Hospice because of her refusing to eat. DH said that she actually looked content, almost happy. Something he hasn't seen in years. The lady said MIL has been very nice to her. We say, Hope it lasts.
We have slowly started dumping things at MIL's place that she wouldn't let him through away before. Meds that expired in 2017, junk mail from a few years ago, etc. Will start tossing empty boxes from appliances that she has been using for over 5 yrs-no reason to keep the boxes piled up

Snowflake1968 wrote: »Debbie - getting someone into a home involves a lot of paperwork and conversations. We have people come thinking it’s as easy as dropping a cheque and are surprised, even when they’re told beforehand, that it can take up to 2 hours. Sorry your walking time was interrupted, I know that’s where you find your peace.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Tracey in Edmonton .
They had already done all the paperwork the day before when she was moved there. The only thing left to do was drop the check off. He just was sitting there chatting with the lady. It would have been fine if he wanted to sit and chat a few hours if I had not been sitting out in the car. I kept thinking he should be coming out soon.
Good news is that on Friday the caretaker was saying MIL would need to be put on Hospice because she was refusing to eat, Saturday morning she started eating and likes the ladies cooking. She hasn't liked any food we have picked up for her for the past 2 yrs or more. Always complained about it, even when it was what she asked for.
