    Good early morning, friends,
I spoke to DH about how cold it was yesterday. Saturday, I went to a bridal shower, which was nice at 67 degrees. Yesterday, it dropped to 35 degrees, and we expect snow on Tuesday. Rose slept at a doggie day camp Saturday, and we slept on and off all day Sunday. DS said they were up all night Friday saying goodbye and went to bed at 3:00 am. That explains it all. Rose had a big appetite on Sunday, too. We did go out to drop off a check at my mom's nursing home. I wanted to look at my mom, but she was asleep, so I let her be. I will go to the respiratory place and get her a nebulizing machine. I will also make an appointment for her teeth. DS says he loves his dorm this term but misses Rose and me. I told him that he will see us soon. DH is in a good mood. I told him on his post that he wears too much black. He reminded me to get my oil changed. I loved when he did that for me. My mom knew how to change the oil in her car.
After my hysterectomy, I was placed on antidepressants by my gynecologist, and I never got off of them.
When I miss one, I get zings and weird symptoms. I had that with a headache on Saturday, so I took two. I was better then. When I organized my meds, I must have forgotten to put that pill in. So, I can relate to Machka's article. I wish I had been on those pills a long time ago. With my job and my personal life, I was depressed and in tears all of the time. My kids told me to take my "happy pills." I had terrible postpartum blues with the youngest. So, I am a fan of antidepressants.

Rebecca, I take breaks from political shows, true crime(though it is my passion), and news for my mental health. I do feel bad cause I didn't even know that Jimmy Carter died. Until recently, I peaked at the IG news feed. I checked out Nancy Grace, who was talking about a NICU nurse who was purposely breaking the bones of neonates. So, I was outraged and had to write my 2 cents in. Again, I ask what is wrong with humanity.

Barbie, DS, I realized I never put gas in a tank because I always did it. When I was a teen, I would beg my mom to let me do it. DS doesn't like to drive, and I should have taught him how to clean the house better. I taught him how to cook and always told him to clean as he went. If only the clean-as-you-go technique had stuck. I loved it when DH gas in the car and did the maintenance. Now, it is up to me. He had a fit when he saw the last oil change.

Lisa, thank you for the words of encouragement. I hate being separated from DS. We are very close. Since he is my youngest, he stayed under me.

Pip, I never thought of reusing my candle jars, so I threw them out.

Margaret, in the old days, a lady who lost her husband, was addressed as a widow. For example, "This is Widow Johnson," as if it were her name. Men were not addressed in that fashion. I wouldn't want myself identified as such. I don't even like being called a pastor's wife because I do not want to be watched under a microscope or told how I should be.

Tracey, I am glad you and Rodger talked. Rodger is very insecure and needs to work on building his self-esteem. The accusation is offensive, but he doesn't want to lose you. He will know you are still in if you say positive things to him. Also, saying positive things to him could raise his self-esteem.

Allie, enjoy your holiday from childcare. I took one from work this weekend, and I love it.

Michelle, I will work on my knitting project since I am off. I also cleaned my table to work on a jigsaw puzzle. I need to get back to working out, too. This is a good week to start.

Debbie, I am so glad your MIL is eating again.

Terri, I am glad you were not hurt and are safe. Take care of yourself.

Vickie, I am so glad your husband's surgery went well. How are you doing?

Dr. Katie, I may also check out the show High Potential. I am getting tired of HGTV.

Carol, you have a lot on your shoulders. See if there is a therapist you can see. I haven't seen mine for months but felt better after seeing him.

Goodnight, ladies; I am going to bed now. Rose is sleeping well and will be up in the morning to play.

    XO,

    Mo in Mississippi

You do what works for you. I guess what was frustrating about my pen pal is she belittled my choice to read a newspaper once in awhile. I has listed to her what goes thru my mind when she does this. I have always told her I would always be her reality check, and would always "say what I mean and mean what I say" sort of mindset. So in order to get her point across she had to name call. That was my sign to exit the friendship.

Vicki - Forgot to say how pleased I am that things went well for your husband! Hope all continues well.

Barbie - So pleased, too, that your family is continuing to reach out.

    Later, dudes... 🤣

The neighborhood we live in is very walker friendly, and there are several regulars that we meet quite frequently. We don’t know all their names, so Dave and I have given them descriptive nicknames. There is “fast-walker”, “Blondie and Baldy,” “Go Potty” (He is a policeman training his dog to potty on command), and many more. The purpose of this rambling was to tell you about the one Dave named “your Yankee boyfriend.” He gave him that name because 1. He speaks with a northern accent here in Georgia and 2. Dave swears he only speaks when the two of us are together. I just refuse to engage. If I want to refer to him, for whatever reason, I just say “the Yankee.” It doesn’t really bother me that Dave says it, but I don’t have to join in. Needless to say, I hope the neighbors never learn what we call them. “The Old Lady” and “Stick up her butt” for sure wouldn’t appreciate it. “The man from the twins’ house” calls me and Dave the President and First Lady. I hope he means “of the walking club” and not because of any resemblance to the current or past president of the US. At least, that’s the way I took it when he said it. In our defense, once we learn their real names, we try to use them.

Husband and I have named all the sumo wrestlers since we have watched them for years. There's "gorilla guy" (he's hairy), and "marshmallow boy" (he's small, round and cute). Then a couple we actually say their names. Wakamotoharo and Watakatakage are brothers. My husband literally butchers their names though, its like tongue twisters!

Ginny, con VERY gratulations on three plus years nicotine-free! VERY well done!
Likewise Lisa, con VERY gratulations on being an ex-smoker and to Corey for three years nicotine-free!!!
Barbie does Annie have a bed or piece of furniture that is “her place”? Where she could learn to sit and stay while you dance? So glad to hear your progress on the paperwork and that you and your friend are dancing, or trying to. Woke up thinking of you and hoping you are eating. So hard when grief closes up the throat. :heartbreak:
    Rita ah the paradox, I DID like the time traveling joke ;}
Carol ((hugs)). Hope the anti depressants help you get through this rough patch.
Rebecca what Barbie said about accepting different opinions with grace, especially since your pen pal wants to be a therapist. SMH.
Flea, what a wild mix of joy (girlfriend, scholarship, theater accomplishments, wedding), grief (battling parents tainting the wedding) and challenging opportunity (geographically difficult new job). ((hugs)) Yah, us Oregon gals are spoiled, so nice to have same price as self serve but full serve, especially when it’s blustery.
Machka on news and newspapers. Yes I subscribe to both local weekly newspapers, primarily for the one’s Community Calendar, the other’s Board of Supervisors meeting minutes, and both’s letters to the editor. I record regional news on our DVR and skim while exercising, zeroing in on the local weather. The regional/Medford channel I watch just announced their letting their local weather team go and will instead broadcast local weather segments from Weather.com. :rage: Last year the Medford CBS channel closed their entire local news team. Occasional BBC world news or Marketplace on NPR and that’s it. No FB or Yahoo “news” for me. Joe has withdrawn from all news sources. I understand and sometimes feel the same way, but . . . I do believe it affects our lives whether or not we can do anything about it. If we don’t know, we can’t even try.
Margaret so wise, so understanding of your friend’s situation, so tactful to give your name right away (a gentle boundary setting). ((hugs))
Tracey, sorry about the edginess with Rodger. Could it be something like Lisa said about the guys in our life seem to prefer angry attention to inattention? Thank you so much for the 12 Neighbors article link. https://macleans.ca/society/tiny-homes-fredericton/ So compelling I had to read the whole thing. Yes we need many more LeBruns, but deeply grateful there is at least one.
Lanette YOWW! You’re much more stoic than I’d, I’d rip the danged electrodes OFF!!!
Jennifer whew! You have a lot on your plate! How long ago did you tweak your leg? That tender calf sounds serious.
Debbie I’m so relieved your MIL likes the new place and caregiver. Hopeful.
Pip how do you get the scent out of your candle jars?
Vicki thankful your DH’s surgery went well, he’s home and working on eating and regaining his strength. Really thankful your son and granddaughter.
Kay I started watching Will Trent, but then stopped, don’t remember why. . .
    Michele “…When I mentioned it to Vince yesterday, he didn’t think much of it. However, today he put his back brace on and was mentioning how it helped keep his back straight.” Your Vince and my Joe could be brothers from another mother. They need time and space to process, and it helps if they can pretend that whatever was THEIR idea ;}
Lisa your and Margaret’s and Lanette’s insight resonate with me about Joe. Our relationship has gotten so much better since I started making time to just sit with him every morning. Not without it’s bumpy patches, more on that another time, but better. Thank you all!

    Later, lighter, lovelies!

I boil water and the leftover wax will float to the top, then it will solidify and let it get cool, then it will come out in a chunk when you poke it. I used to make new candles with the wax that I collected, but I got lazy and don’t do that anymore. Get hot water and soap and scrub clean, that removes the scent of what was in there

Went bowling today. Then rode the bike since it’s too cold to walk. Worked on the puzzle some After dinner made brownies for Vince.

Vince doesn’t feel he can bend down enough to have a fire in the fireplace and I don’t think I can do it without him right next to me since I’m dealing with gas

Tracey – when is Accused on? I’m going to start DVR’ing Doc to see how it is.

Yesterday I made sausage cheese balls for the birthday party tomorrow at ceramics. Won’t go tonight and not sure about tomorrow. If we don’t go, I can always put them in the freezer for another month

Yesterday when I got up since I don’t work, I was thinking it was Wednesday (another day I don’t work). On our control panel for the alarm system it lists the day/time so I had to look at it to be sure I had the right day (which I didn’t)

With this cold weather, I can only think of how it was last year when my car was part of the recall and I couldn’t put it in the garage. At least now I don’t have snow/ice on it

I wore these warm pants to work today but tomorrow I’m going to wear another pair that are even warmer. I really don’t care if they are not uniform correct. They’re black but they do have a white stripe. Well, I’m not there long and I’m there in the morning so I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t a problem. And if it is….tough

Barbara – I started watching Will Trent, too. But I didn’t find it very entertaining at all.

Denise called the other day and said that she had Giacho (the dog) pulling PJ in the snow. I remember pulling Jess in the snow on the sled. Not sure what she used since I know she doesn’t have a sled.

    Michele NC
who will probably work on the puzzle some after the brownies come out of the oven and then will put the oven on self-clean

Had busy day yesterday with my Creative Writing am, and Monday Painters after lunch. Today I have Craft am.

The weather is still fairly settled. It’s too early for spring, but the plants in the garden seem a little confused about that.

Nice warm, sunny day today. One of those days I wish I didn't have to work inside. But at least I got outside for a lunchtime walk. :)

    yhy4fyiy3lux.png

I also climbed 31 flights of stairs.

Work is still super busy. Then for the next 2 days, I'm in a training course.

And my personal To Do list doesn't seem to be getting any smaller. I'm still taking Christmas decorations down.

Fortunately, I've got a set of 3-day weekends going on. Last weekend was the first 3-day weekend, and I've got 3 more coming up. The extra non-work days help.

But I have been logging my food and sticking with my goal of exercising 15 minutes a day (for 300/365 days) ... and my weight is dropping. :)

Tracey - I think I'm just incapable of staying quiet about BS. If it's in my mind, it's out my mouth (or typing fingers). Top reason why I never went into politics. Thank you very much for the compliment, and I definitely take it as one. I do wish it was instant and not after the fact, though...🤔 Ah well.

Mo - Saw you were due for some snow. 😑 Stay inside! Have things delivered! Stay safe! Southerners, including Mississippians, do NOT know how to drive in snow!

I know that's obvious, but seriously, it's hard to stay out of people's way that genuinely are dangerous in snow, as they don't know that 99% of it is simply "GO SLOW." The only exception is going UPhill. Any of y'all that are about to get slapped by the snow storm making its way across the South, please stay safe. Just not worth risking your life.

Not a lot going on this side of the Mississippi River, as far as I know, whether it's weather or not. We won't even make it up to freezing today, but supposed to start warming tomorrow. Right now it's back in the single digits, at 8 degrees (-13C). Time to put my socks on. Will be my 14th day in a row of exercise when I'm done with the elliptical. Pleased with myself. Haven't moved consistently in so long...

Talked to Corey, and I may do an early quick run into town. I want to return some curtain rods to Walmart that I didn't need in the end, and Corey needs big band-aids for work. Hate being cold, but as my Alaskan husband noted, once it gets below freezing, you're cold, whether it's 10 below or 20 below. I will get cabin fever if I never leave the house. Still thinking about it, while me and my gut do our early morning do-si-do.

    Love y'all,
    Lisa in AR
