Worked then went to CVS to get one of Vince’s prescriptions. Went to the other CVS hoping to get Cheerios. They didn’t have any but gave me rainchecks. Got my hair cut today. Just a bit shorter. It kind of needed it. But I can still put it in a ponytail for work and the soup kitchen. Speaking of which: soup kitchen tomorrow. Then I’ll probably prebowl for one day we’re gone. I also want to take my tablet to work to be sure I’m requesting the days off the right way. Seems I wasn’t before.
A neighbor asked me to show her how to play mahjongg so I walked to her house and gave her two books I had about the rules, etc. Also took the puzzle mat to the UPS store to return it to Amazon. I’m not going to use it. It wasn’t what I thought it would be
Made pork chops to have next week and some for the freezer. I should have made the other package instead of putting them in the freezer. Now I’m defrosting them. They were the ones I got for the sale price. I suspect the sale was last week but the sign was still up so they had to give me the sale price.
Vicki – so sorry about your car. Good luck on the interview
Tracey – everything Beth said, I double
Rebecca – I like those earrings
Heather – congrats on walking upstairs. I’m going to have spinach feta pie. Haven’t heard you talking about it lately. I’m also going to have shirataki noodles in the soup tomorrow and I’ll be thinking of you. That’s another thing you haven’t mentioned lately.
pip – how I wish my headphones had a sensor to let you know how much battery power was in them. I find that I’m always charging them, probably more often than they need to be charged
Off to work on the puzzle and then take a shower and watch some TV

Went to Zumba today. It was good to go again. I got some windows measured for replacing today. It will be a big project. Aiming for early May to get it done. I will be doing it in three chunks. It will also depend if I have to get new siding too!4

Pip, exercise without having something to listen to would make me crazy too.4

Thought Tuesday’s “impressions” would be half hour at most, with trays of gunky stuff. Turned out to be a grueling hour and a half while they tried to take digital images by moving a camera wand around in my (physically too small) mouth after unscrewing stuff from the sockets, screwing in “imaging bodies”. When the imaging bodies wouldn’t take they finally screwed in something else, which HURT, and reverted to the trays of gunky stuff. Got home and got good hugs and support from Joe before self-medicating with red wine. Wednesday filled growing cells with seed starter mix and water before line dancing. Today mixed up cookie batter before taking dogs to powerline, going on poop patrol and even weeding the flower bed a little. Very pleasant, calm, 60 degrees. Last years’ Easter Lily has 5 blooms on it! Can you believe it? Transplanted the baby bay tree seedling into the flower bed and crossed my fingers.
Lanette Silliness can get us through the tough times. That’s why I wanted Rita’s (and Machka’s) oks to share their jokes with my line dance friend who just had a stroke. We all could use more silliness, fun and laughter!
Machka thanks for the Pandas’ first times at the gym. Really made me smile!
Heather love your daffodils. They won’t get to the store here until February or March.
“…managed to walk upstairs with both legs, twice today” Bravissima!!!
Carla, sorry to confuse, but that was me, Barbara the AHMOD, not Barbie our great leader, who made the body-part-freezing-cold comment
Welcome @krausekelly61!
Barbie. Mooch WILL go to his bed when I tell him to, but he’s too excited to stay there, unlike Tumble and Shadow. We are working on impulse control with him, but to be honest, Joe is making more progress with him than I am. Brava for countering the sinking spell with generous acts. Well done.
Kay thanks for the insight on Will Trent and Accused. Think I’ll invest my time elsewhere. Yours to Vicki, wise words.
Annie so glad to hear from you. No need to apologize, we all need to take a break from time to time. ((hugs)) Brava for the Vitamin D!!!
Beth, include me in the “entitlement eating” (and drinking) club, especially after dental work.
Rita wish I had some magic to help your DH understand about $$, budget and limitations. Hard on a marriage. ((hugs))
Michele full price breakfast cereals? Yah NOPE! Glad you got an appointment with your dermatologist so soon, but OWW! “…from the sixties” me too but could never do without the support…
Tracey what Beth said. That the neighbor boy feels comfortable/safe enough to fall asleep at your house, high praise.
Allie ((hugs)) sorry about your friend. You are so right, our lives can change in a moment.
Vicki so sorry to hear of the vermin damaging your cars’ wired. We’ve caught half a dozen or more mice over the past few weeks, but since Joe sprayed along the bottom edge of the garage door with WD40 there haven’t been any. ((hugs))
Margaret that window project will be a big one. Hope your contractor treats you righit and gets it all done when the weather’s good.
Debbie is your MIL still behaving or has she reverted to her wicked ways?
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Vicki Squirrels, mice, moles, etc are currently having hey days with car/truck wires! Lots of damage! If kept outside, I have found a spray of peppermint oil around tires, base, and bumpers seems to help. The downside is it really should be done a couple of times a day. If not driven lots and in a garage, scented dryer sheets have helped. I put them on the engine both at the front and at the firewall. I put them in the glove box, trunk, and under the seats. My nephew's current repair bill on his truck from rodents is over $3000. They fix one thing and another is found. Oh! Coyote pee works too! By the way, The rodents also like lawn mowers and other yard equipment. We see them chewing up wires, nesting under engine covers, eating gas caps, etc. Sorry it has become an issue for you. Hugs! I hope the job interview goes well for you!
I have read along and know there were more I wanted to comment on. But my thoughts escape me. "I don't want to!" has been my go to phrase. "I am tired. I am hungry. I have no energy. I just CAN'T!" Well, this week, I have heard Pip, Lisa, and Machka especially in my head. JUST DO IT! It is only 15 mins! YOU CAN do it. Guess what.......Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I got 15 mins in AM and in PM. I have actually gotten over 10K steps each of those days. I have hit protein goals 3 of the past 4 days. I did go way over on calories on Monday, but have been under closely since then. I am 10 days of 0 mg nicotine. I reckon I am feeling pretty good about myself right now. You ALL continue to inspire and encourage me.
My DH was told by his doctor that a little nicotine isn't bad. I couldn't believe he said that! DH A1C is up again to 6.2. Fasting glucose 124. Liver enzymes high again. Dr recommends more exercise, and better eating. DH thinks he just has to eat less chocolate. I told him I generally feed him pretty well. The snacking before of pretzels, chips, etc don't help. He needs to lose about 25-30 lbs. I now need to lose 20 lbs. All I can do is try to keep my mindset positive in the kitchen resulting in healthy meals. The rest is up to him.
I was in training class today. I walked the breaks. I was choosy about food. I left the desserts on the table! That was the HARDEST!!! I got lots of water in. On way home I stopped at grocery and picked up a few things we were out of such as fruits and salad stuffs. Nope, I didn't go back to work afterwards! Back to work tomorrow.
Healing thoughts!
HUGS because everyone needs them!
Pride in all the steps each one is taking to better their lives
Time to get some rest!
Much love,
Kylia in Ohio happy with choices have made lately!

Very windy here. I can't imagine what it must be like around where Terri lives. My friend B in Glasgow has also had the red alerts.
Michele - I haven't made the spinach and feta pie in ages. I do think it's great though, especially for catering and guests. I make veg and feta frittata these days, which is quicker. I haven't had my Asian soup either , as John hasn't been off to the cricket, so I don't get the chance to indulge. That's when I use the shiritake.
Yesterday, when he was out, I had my favourite - beetroot! With chick peas etc. Very yummy. John absolutely hates beetroot.
I've been awake since 4.30 with the wind. It seems to get me all stirred up for some reason. I do have earplugs, but my body seems to know what's going on.

Get yourself a humidifier friend. We have the cheap kind that I think Vicks puts out. Fill it with water, stick the middle part in, you can add the Vicks liquid part if you like the steam to have the scent of Vicks or not. Its good for all night. I did wonders for our dry noses! I was getting nose bleeds too.

When I had my deviated septum fixed, I got one of those Vicks humidifiers ... nice little unit.
Earrings - I wear studs/keepers or whatever you call them. I have several with different birthstones, just because I like the different colours.
When I've got time to think about it, I do change them for other earrings for work.Mo We've got this exercise thing! I heard everyone's "voices" telling me it is just 15 minutes. Just do it! Not only did I house walk for 15 mins yesterday morning but also last night. I even hit 10k steps! If I can do 15 mins dedicated per day I am happy. Extra is awesome!
Much love,

I'm really liking the idea of doing 15 minutes of exercise a day for at least 300 days of the year. I have taken one day off so far, the day after my 60 km bicycle ride, but otherwise, I'm consistently heading out to do 15 minutes, and ending up doing more.
15 minutes of exercise isn't much time out of my day ... and it gets me out the door.SophieRosieMom wrote: »Against my better judgement, I installed "365" after the first of the year in hopes I could get both laptops talking to each other. It's not working like I thought it would, not updating even though it says it saved to OneCloud. And it no longer lets me save to folders on the PC even though it says it's doing so. For the time being I've turned OneCloud off until I have the time and temperament to deal with it again. It's probably easy, I just don't have the patience to check out the tutorials right now.

We have to get to the hospital to get my husband seen by an orthopaedic surgeon. His twisted ankle turned out to be a completely ruptured achilles tendon.

Machka - So sorry about your husband's Achilles! I ruptured mine a hundred years ago, while I was still in the military, and they just stabilized my foot and leg with a walking cast. Before the military had access to the removable velcro-type boots they use now. Hope it's not terribly painful, and easily corrected.
Kylia -Like you, I "hear" a number of folks' voices from this forum in my head, one of the reasons I missed Annie so much! So glad to see her "Yay!" come back for herself, and I use it to spur me on... I put my number at ten to 15 minutes of exercise every day and (yay!) haven't missed a day since January 7. Just modified the exercise so I could do it with or without vertigo. The other thing is silly, but I always project using "will be" instead of "has been." So I say, "Today will be 18 days!" or even "tomorrow will be 19 days," and it somehow pushes me to accomplish that. Honestly, though, I do it with birthdays, anniversaries, etc. We will be married 16 years in June, and so on. Never past, always future.
Terri - Hope there wasn't too much damage!
Lanette and Machka - I'm just having trouble figuring out WHERE my stuff is saving, and whether it's on my One Drive or my laptop or both! It's frustrating, as I'm trying to move videos around, and these suckers are BIG in terms of storage. Annoying. I've got a terabyte of storage somewhere, but not sure whether it's on my OneDrive or my laptop itself...
Speaking of which, finally got my piece posted on moving away from Crohn's advice as a niche, but not happy with it. Recorded it on Zoom, and don't like the frame or much else about it. One good note, the more I hear it, the more I get used to hearing my voice, though I still don't like the way I look... Not like I can change that, so... 🤷🏼♀️oh well. Still having fun with it, figuring things out.
Later, y'all,
Love,

Mfp a bit haywire this morning. It did not like my tab, so I've gone in another way, which seems OK. I've lost two posts with 'Format not found'.
Sorry about your husband's injury, Machka. No fun at all.
The tax man has insisted on giving me money that I know is not mine, and I've told them I don't want, because I don't want to have to give it back when they've found their mistake. It turned up today in my bank account, so I've put it in a completely separate small account.
Our wind has died down now, but I know it was bad in Northern Ireland.

Barbara Yes getting windows is a big expensive project but unfortunately needed. I have decided I am going to stay in this home for as long as I can and if I have to move getting the windows replaced with help to sell it faster. I know I will not get the cost back in the sale. It will hopefully make my heating and cooling bills less and with those costs going up that is where I will save some. It will be a two to three year project. It is still cheaper to stay here than to move.
Starting to make my own yogurt again. The method I used before worked when my home was warmer in the summer. This new method I do is a more putsy but I like how my yogurt turns out. I add Inulin from a recipe by Dr. Davis. Inulin is made from plant fiber that is used to replace sugar. It helps to thicken the yogurt. I need to keep the yogurt at a temp of 108-115 for about five hours and it comes out thick and creamy more like Greek yogurt without having to strain it. He recommends fermenting it for 36 hours at a temp of 100 degrees. I have learned that it works to make it at a lower temp but it will take longer and you will need an insta pot or yogurt maker. I am trying to make do with what I already have rather than add another appliance to my arsenal. I bought the Inulin and reutri probiotic online to add to my yogurt recipe. Reutri is one of the microbes that is wiped out by antibiotics. He claims it helps with SIBO. I mix it with a starter that is from a good quality plain yogurt so I know there are other probiotics in the mix. The reutri probiotic also contains other microbes. I started out slow eating the new yogurt and now eating a full serving. I notice no I'll effects and only thing I notice so far is I am sleeping a bit better. I also learned that using a slightly higher temp for a shorter time the yogurt will come out having a milder taste.
Dr. Davis had SIBO and type two diabetes and adding his yogurt recipe and other changes in his diet (gluten free) cleared his SIBO and reversed his type two diabetes. So the doctor cured himself first!2 -

Rita - I wish the teleporter hadn't ended up in scrap pile, I'd have it pick you up and come help me with these laptops. I'm sure you're right, it was installing the new W11. Since the "ready to be installed" icon in the bottom tray had disappeared, I figured it was a done deal. Makes a lot of sense that everything slowed down to "crawl" speed while this was going on.
Barbie - I loved "Mountain Detective" too! Thanks for reminding me of some I need to rewatch. Glad you like "The Bay." If you can't make connections with Social Security today, I had the best luck last week calling around noon for some reason.
Kylia - House walkers unite! Good job.

In looking for your files, do a search for users/lanette (or your user name)/documents. You can use the combination CTRL-F to bring up a search box. 365 tends to default save to a folder under. /365/documents or something like that. If it is the online 365, it saves in its own ‘cloud’. I know confusing. Try the CTRL-F first. The other search would be if you have a folder called ‘files’. You can look in there for any folders called documents or desktop/documents or ‘recents’ to find your files. You can use CTRL-F to find anything on your computer no matter how old or new.
Also, be sure you are logged into Microsoft AND 365 to find out where your files are. Do a search while logged into Microsoft AND not logged in because that is 2 different places on Windows.

Anybody else asked if they were human logging into MFP Community today? I was asked twice to click the box to verify I was human, then had to click ok for the Cookies warning too. Weird.
Gradually getting my walking back in after this 3 weeks of coughing. I did 15 minutes yesterday. My aim is 30 minutes of exercise a day, usually walking. I am not going to meet that goal this month for sure, but will be able to get back to it. Right now, my cough has gone to a dry cough now and it feels like something is in the back of my throat all the time, but no where near as bad as it was. Still get tired quick but on the healing side now. Glad of that. Finished my antibiotics this morning and upping the probiotics for a while to counteract whatever the antibiotics wiped out.
We are looking for a place, house or apartment to move to by March. That’s when we will have enough for the first month’s rent and deposit. Then we will sell the RV. We won’t get much because it is a 1999 and we have been living in it for the last 8 years, but it is still a great machine with no plumbing or roof/window water leaks. Holds the room temp too. Found a couple of places in our range already but the owners never called me back so we could go look at it, plus I’ve been sick so not really into doing this search. At least I know we will be able to find what we want in our price range around here. As a bonus, a lot of rental around here include utilities! We shall see. Wish I did have my transporter, then we could look all over the US and check out winter in different places! Lol
Though for today:

Heather I love beets (beetroot) but have never had with chickpeas, sould you share your recipe?
Machka how long has Rowan been functioning with a ruptured Achilles tendon? OW!
Margaret love hearing how the physician healed himself. ;}
Allie is there a community forum or FB marketplace where you could post that 4poster bed for free pickup? the pixie cut!
Barbie your walking and exercise bike ARE important chores. Self care is the most important thing. ((hugs))
Carla  Guilty!
Rita thanks for “. Do a search while logged into Microsoft AND not logged in because that is 2 different places on Windows.” Just another reason for me to avoid Office 365 and cloud storage … Yep, mfp frequently asks if I’m human, can’t see where I can check the “nope, I’m from elsewhere” box. ;}
Today I WILL bake the holiday nut balls “for Joe” , do at least 15 minutes of BB&B and start excavating the laundry mountain before going into town (BiMart, post office, Freddie’s) and meeting D for a stroll before we check out the new bar and grille. Yep, for us during the winter months its a necessity! My husband used to get terrible nose bleeds, and most loads during the week looked like a killing had occurred with all his messed up cotton handkerchiefs! Plus I went thru loads more Spray n Wash to get it all out! Now since he has cut down on sugar, checked his blood sugar weekly his nose has been better. So the humidifier can't take all the credit.👍🏼

MFP and are you human-that popped up my my screen briefly this morning and then disappeared-first time I recall seeing it. I figured they are getting ready to test some sort of MFA in response to bots?

Allie-cute haircut. Glad you got a day off. If you have a habitat for humanity near you they take furniture and come pick it up.

Hey kids, dashing back through after a quick trip to town to get Corey his keys. The whole, "in my other jacket," phenomenon.
Allie - The haircut looks very kicky, girlie. Hope you're enjoying it. I really love having short hair, and honestly meant to stop by the hair place while I was in town, but I was too hungry, and came home instead! 😜
Barbie - Just hugs, my friend. I think of you more often than you know.
I had to verify my humanity this morning, as well, and on that note: I've long since given into the fact that Microsoft and Google own me and my data, Barbara AHMOD, so I just don't worry too much. What are they going to do with it? I've got nothing they want. 😏🤔😑
That said, I've been pretty wide-open online since I decided to sell my handbags and do YouTube videos. I just had to drop it down my worry set, and I protect myself as best I can. However, it was also one of the reasons I moved away from advising anyone about anything medically - people sue each other at the drop of a hat, these days. That WAS a worry, so I removed that as a possibility.
On the computer thing, I did finally figure out where that terabyte exists, and of course, it's in Microsoft's picky fingers. What I want to do, though, is move all the images off my phone into my OneDrive. At one level, they exist there already, or at least I have access to them through my Photo app. But I want them to actually be in my file system, and am working on moving them all over there and getting them off my phone, to free up some of the storage space on my phone. Just 'cause, mostly.
Time to go get my 10 to 15 minutes of exercise done, laundry folded, and relax for the rest of the day.
Love y'all,

Exercise is the easy part of my day ... but all the other things I need to do try to push exercise out of my day. So if I tell myself that it will only be 15 minutes of my day, it gets higher priority.

My husband will need surgery ... it's a complete rupture with a 2 cm gap between the pieces.
Because of his brain injury, he has minimal feeling in his left leg, especially his lower left leg. So he's not in much pain and has been telling me that it's getting better.
Several of his brain injury issues, and the "lay of the land" contributed toward this accident. He stepped off a low retaining wall not realising he was on the low retaining wall. That happened on about Jan 3.
