    Welcome to MFP @marie062399

Maybe we could help your break this down into bite size chunks. Trying to start everything all at once is overwhelming.

Maybe think of yourself as a train picking up steam.

What could you start today that would be an improvement?

Switching to diet soda or seltzer water? Setting a goal to walk X number steps every day? Learning to weigh and log?

You know, I’ve heard of the “Death of 1,000 Cuts”, but conversely, improving one thing at a time can be life changing. It works both ways.

I sincerely hope you’ll come back and talk to us.

Check out this woman’s thread. She started with numerous health problems. I find her very inspiring.

Hello all! I'm new to the group. I wanted to say hello!
I have the gastric sleeve, but its been that way since 2008. I lost lots of weight afterwards, but have climbed back up to 235 lbs. I'm 5'6" now, but used to be 5'8". Soooo, my BMI is up around 40. My scale tells me i'm 52% fat. That is pretty depressing, but not totally unexpected.

I have a really hard time working in exercise, due to many health concerns. I have had stage III colon cancer. I go to therapy weekly for anxiety and depression, and I had a stroke in 2-19. I assumed that I would have help, then , with cleaning up and cooking, but it was all left up to me.

Well, I guess I copped an attitude about the complete lack of assistance in my time of need, so I stopped doing everything but the bare necessities; cooking, washing dishes, and cleaning the bathroom fixtures.

Now I have a popular motivational app, and it has helped me tackle a couple of big projects in my house. I feel a dopamine rush every time I take care of a messy spot, but I need help motivating to exercise, and eat right. And I was hoping to make friends here to keep me honest in the exercise area. myfitnesspal helps me with my diet goals quite a bit, as I also had to log every bite after my bariatric surgery.

My caloric goal is 1200 Calories a day. I need 60 g. protein/ day, so that and water are my main focus.

Now to make myself a yoga studio!

    Onward ho!

regardless if you have surgery, you need to change your relationship with food. Why not work on that first?

if you would like moral support feel free to join my group. I check it every day.
