Looking to reclaim my figure!

I am new to the community side of MFP, having used it in previous years purely for calorie and weight loss tracking.

I am 37 years old, I have children, I work a desk job, have limited time between work and kids and I drive. I feel terrible in my own skin - just feel fat and old and I’m over it. I am getting divorced and I want to see myself back with the figure I had when I got married. I can’t turn back the clock as far as aging goes (and the marriage..) but I want to feel in control of my body again.

Snacks at night are my vice. I also like wine or gin on occasion. I know that gluten does me no favours, so ideally I’ll avoid that too. Hoping the community will help boost my motivation and hold me accountable!

From my wedding day at my goal weight to where I am now…well, where I was last summer - I rarely take photos of myself because I feel so rubbish. I need to make changes!

You are beautiful. Truly. That should be the first thing you recognize. Losing weight isn't going to change that. But you do need to find some time for yourself both physically and mentally. If you can spare any time and want friends, join my group. We'll be happy to offer encouragement and support when you need it.

Thank you, I am working on that. Losing weight makes me feel more comfortable in my own skin, instead of having to hide away. I have joined the group thank you

Beautiful, both then and now, I've been on my current journey since last February, I've gone from 255lbs down to 209lbs in that time, but now back up to 231lbs! Ive joined premium again which gave me the boost I needed initially, but then stopped tracking and 'fell off the wagon'. You'll get to where you want to be with focus and determination which I'm sure you've got loads... that and planning will be the key... enjoy the ride!

Thank you! That’s an incredible loss, and I’m sure you will get back to where you want to be, you just need to regain that motivation. I want to be back to where I want to be by summer. I have some big plans to work towards. I’m also in a new relationship with someone who loves me as I am, but supports me in my journey, and that makes a big difference to me. I know he will be on board for better food choices and will actively encourage me. Good luck!
