Can anyone recommend a good protein shake that will help me lose weight?

Protein shakes don't do anything for weight loss.
Only a calorie deficit does that.1 -
Powder is better value. Whey, unless you're lactose intolerant. Get any from Optimum Nutrition, Dymatize. Muscle Milk. Muscletech that's at least 70% calories from protein.0

I wouldn't recommend drinking your calories. Real food takes longer to digest and gives you the physical satisfaction of eating.

I like all of the chocolate Fairlife and Fairlife Core Power shakes. Nonweight loss secret to them though, I still work them into my calories. They work with a handful of crudités if I decide to eat lunch.0

You don't mention the country you live in as Amazon has different items in each country, as does every fitness store. But like the others said: you don't lose weight by consuming a protein powder. If you continue eating like before and add a protein drink on top you might actually gain weight. Losing weight is all about how many calories you consume. If you think that liquid calories keep you full and you don't get enough protein in your normal diet then go for it.0

I don’t think English is your first language, so I’m trying to word this as kindly as I can.
Starting anything is scary. Starting anything as a senior, which you’ve indicated elsewhere that you are, is even scarier. We’ve developed comfort zones and are frightened to leave them.
Looking at your past posting history, you’ve been here many many years longer than most of us. Every few years, you post many panic messages. I’m guessing that you try too hard and quit easily.
What if you had tried less hard all those years ago, and only lost four or five five pounds a year instead of trying to rush and do it all at once? You would have lost 50 pounds by now- and have developed the tools to keep the weight off.
Instead of rushing around like a bumper car at the fair, hitting your head on this idea and bouncing off of that idea, why not take a deep breath and do it slowly and thoughtfully?
I’m not criticizing you. We will be happy to hold your hand and help you through this, but you are making so many posts on so many quick loss plans, it’s hard to keep up with you.
Slow down, log your food honestly, and really look at what you’re eating, and how much you are eating. That was what initially worked for me. Even today, I have looked at the meals and snacks I had planned and made a large change to drop 100 calories and get some more protein in. I’ve taken the time to be able to look, and make changes based on slow learning.
I sincerely hope that whatever life stress motivates you every three or four years eases up, and that you can approach this from a place of calm, instead of being frantic.
Hugs to you.4 -
PS. I don’t know what you read or what ads you see, but there is no magic weight loss through shakes.
Or pills.
Or magic exercise plan.
Or soups, vinegar drinks or anything else.
Weight loss comes down to simply thinking. It’s our brains, and the desires our brains think we have or need, that hold us back. Tell your brain “I’m in charge here!”
Doing that helped me take co tell of my life back. My brain, my extended family, the “things” I need to do, I can’t let them control me, and I feel 1,000% better taking command of “me” back.
That’s just the vibe I get from your posts.4 -

When it comes to weight loss, no protein shake alone will do the trick—it's really about your overall diet and calorie balance. That said, a good protein shake can help keep you full longer and support muscle maintenance while losing weight.
Look for one that is high in protein, low in sugar, and contains quality ingredients. Whey, casein, and plant-based proteins like pea or hemp are all good options, depending on your dietary preferences.
I’d also recommend checking the ingredient list to avoid unnecessary additives. Do you have any preferences—like dairy-free or a specific flavor?0
