    Hi, Shalena, and welcome!

I'm not a 70s, but close (69). I was a mere youth of 59-60 ;) when I used MFP to lose around 50 pounds, putting an end to 30 previous years of overweight/obesity. I've been maintaining a healthy weight since.

It sounds like you're on a good course. If you stick with it, adjusting your plan if/as necessary to make things more sustainable or more successful while staying sustainable, you can succeed.

Wishing you success - IME, the quality of life improvement is worth the effort it takes!

Coincidentally, 183 is the weight where I started losing back in 2015. :) To be clear, I'm not implying a question about your weight goals at all. My height, build, and some relevant health issues made losing 50-ish pounds a good goal for me.

I'm cheering for you to succeed!

I am 68. Have lost 35 lbs since October, presently 162. Have another 20 to go to get to the high end of ideal weight. Just doing diet and exercise, mostly walking. About 1200 calories a day plus eating back a few exercise calories
