1000 Minutes Challenge - October

We are a group of MFP's who have committed to doing 1000 minutes of exercise per month (minimum). We count minutes for all types of exercise: yoga, aerobics, walking, weight training, strength work, stretching or heavy gardening. You be the judge of whether it's exercise. We're here to support, encourage, and set challenges for ourselves. It's all about intention. If we don't make the 1000 minutes this month, there's next month to go for it. Newcomers always welcome!

Here’s how to join, plus some additional information:
• You simply post to join.
• You will keep track of your own minutes every month-see intro to see what types of activities count toward the total. If you join us mid-month, it's ok to try for a percentage of the 1000, e.g. join on the 15th, go for 50% or 500 minutes.
• Most people track on the days they workout, sometimes more.
• We try to encourage and support each other.
• Not many folks post on weekends but more post on Monday-Friday.

    Oct 1 - 65 minutes (elliptical 55 minutes, 10 minutes stretching & crunches)
    Oct 2 - 46 minutes (elliptical trainer)

    Alright, I'll give it a try:

    Oct 1 - 50 minutes biking
    Oct 2 - 90 minutes biking, 30 minutes walking.

    112.5 minutes on the treadmill......5 mile run and a 3 mile walk :)

    Ended up walking a bit longer than I thought we would. Make that 40 minutes walking! Guess I'd better make these posts at the end of the day once I know what I've actually done instead of using my estimates.
    Alright, I'll give it a try:

    Saturday: 30 min lifting
    Sunday: 24 min run, 120 min yoga (was actually kind of disappointed at this - it was a 4-hour workshop and I expected a lot more 'doing' instead of demo and talk).

  • 10/1 - 178 minutes cycling, 51.3 miles
    10/2 - 88 minutes cycling, 24.2 miles

    4th 100 minutes of walking plus skipping 3 min, light weight lifting, light boxing 5 mins, running up stairs about 5 mins :)

    I love the sound of this challenge - great idea!

    October 2nd - 60 mins high impact aerobics and 60 mins weights (bar-bells)
    October 3rd - 60 mins high impact aerobics and 25 mins brisk walking
    October 4th - 45 mins Spin class and 25 mins brisk walking


    So far = 275 mins/1000
