I'm currently obese, with a BMI of 33.5 (5'5", 206 lbs). Last Sunday, I failed to complete a marathon by a hair. I only ran 39.8 km of 42.195 km (24.7 mi of 26.2 mi) in 8 hours and 20 minutes, past the cutoff time of 8 hours. I walked the remaining marathon distance back to the hotel. With MyFitnessPal, I hope to eat better to lose weight and complete a marathon within the cutoff time.

In my opinion thats a great accomplishment! Next time you are going to complete it and beat your time. What a great goal to reach for. Good luck on your journey

Hey man, congratulations! You can hold your head high - finish line or not, you really fought for it and lot of people would have tapped out way before 39km.

You have the right attitude and a clear goal now, I know you'll go back to finish the job next time.

I don't see where you failed. You started, you achieved your best. That is a win. As you build yourself up, you capabilities will increase. You went to your end, even if it wasn't the physical end of the course. Be proud of that.
