Intro: I am 43 years old, 5'2" with a starting weight of 146 lbs. With being petite, EVERY pound is a battle. I have three little kids - ages 4, 6, and 8 -- and my hubby travels for work. So, cooking heathy meals the kids will actually eat, as well as trying to find time to exercise are struggles for me.

Weekly Update: Hmmm, back up a little. This hasn't been my best week - I did have splurge and have a good amount of pizza during the super bowl. However, the rest of the week wasn't too bad. I'm going to keep working at it - one day at a time!! We are going out of town this weekend, so my goal is to eat mindfully and track EVERYTHING, even if I end up going over a little.

Helllo!
I’m coming into this late but have been on a weight loss journey.
My goal weight - 146 lbs
I’m about 8 lb away. Although these days I’m scared to check my weight- the big challenge I have is to keep it off.
The more weight we lose the harder it is getting.
Thanks

I was looking forward to weighing in yesterday and got sick and then my daughter had car troubles! I’m feeling discouraged with my weight loss goals. We all have set backs but it’s a journey and not a destination, right?! My husband and I are dining out tom. for ❤️! I’m hoping I feel better so we can enjoy our time together. Do you have plans for tom.? What traditions do you have with your family? Happy Valentines Day to you! 🌸 -Donna2 -
Hello! Welcome all returning members and newcomers too! Today is only FIVE more weeks until Spring, can you believe it? I missed my Wednesday weigh-in (had a digestive system virus for two days); so here are my scale app stats from this morning:
Key measurements are:
B: 40", W: 37", H: 39", P: 39".
With all the ups and downs I've had since January 1st, I am now 0.8 lbs. UP from my starting weight! That won't do at all! I would like to get out of the 150's by March 19th and to lose at least 5 lbs. by the first day of SPRING, March 20th, when I will start up a "SPRING into SUMMER" challenge that will run until June 19th (with a final weigh-in by Friday, June 20th).
I'm going to be very vigilant about keeping an accurate food diary and stepping up my activity level in order to achieve my personal, Spring goal!
Have a Happy Valentine's Day! I will check back in soon!

Hi everyone,
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! 💘

Hi everyone,
Boston ended up getting about 5" inches of snow last night, then it turned to sleet and freezing rain and now it looks like mostly rain. There looks like there's now an icy glaze everywhere. I'm glad I don't have to go out today!
One of our MFP members sent a link about the benefits of sauerkraut. (Thanks to @200Karen!) After reading how nutritious this fermented food is, I think I might try adding sauerkraut again. I used to regularly buy a brand at Target called, "Crakovia" that also had carrots. I would mix it with "Sambal Oelek" (ground, fresh chili paste, the brand with the rooster on the label) and would sometimes add a drop or two of liquid sucralose. Sometimes I would also add more shredded carrots and/or chopped water chestnuts. This brand has 140g of sodium per 100g/3.5 oz.; so it's not as high as some other brands. They have this brand on Amazon but it's wicked expensive, like $17.99 for about a quart!
https://a.co/d/8ZC9Y9h - That's crazy! (I'm going to see whether they still carry this at the Target near me. )
I haven't gained any weight following my recent gastrointestinal bout. The scale still reads, 153.8. it will be interesting to see what it says on Wednesday (my next challenge weigh-in). I haven't been doing much exercise. I haven't felt up to it, but I need to jumpstart that again soon!
Have a great day, everyone!

@Walela617 Hi Carole! 😃 Just got in from the roads here in Central MA. The roads aren’t slick at all- It’s 40* out there. Tonight and early morning will prob. be a driving concern as the temperate drops and the winds kick in. A lot of huge puddles in the right lanes!
The sauerkraut I use is Cleveland Kraut brand! It’s delicious, not too expensive and makes a great sausage stir fry with apples! 😃2 -

@everyone I'm just curious if it has to be sourkraut or will Apple cider vinegar do the same thing for gut health? I appreciate all knowledge and opinions on this matter.0
-
Oh, No! I just entered a really long post but didn't save a draft. I had to get up for a second and now it's GONE! It was all about a mocktail I make almost every evening and responding to @Rainbow2300 and @deepwoodslady posts. BUMMER! I will post my mocktail recipe later, but I was saying I'd love to try the sausage stir fry with sauerkraut and apples and that I have two tablespoons of ACV almost every evening. My blood pressure is usually great, and I attribute that in part to the ACV. Here is my latest reading:
That's right after two, large mugs of French Roast coffee! (Not bad for an overweight 66 year old!) I think part of it is also because I don't own a car and because I avoid alcohol (most of the time now, anyway).
I'm supposed to have a visitor from Rockland, MA tomorrow to visit my new cat (I adopted from her), but I don't want her driving here if the roads are icy; so we'll play it by ear and see what the weather is like in the morning. (I've got some housecleaning to do!)
I will post again soon!

Hello everyone,
It has been awhile since I checked in. I am not exactly sure what's up with me. I am blah right now. My process hasn't been what I wanted and I lost a little steam but now I am mentally back. I hope to lose an additional 13 pounds in the remaining time. I am in a 5 week fitness challenge with my Mom that started 2/15. So back to tracking and I am going to some type of exercise 2 times this week. @Walela617 I am glad to hear that you are on the mend! Wishing you well. Winter is still showing up. Lol.

Hi everyone,
So many team members are doing quite well! It's very inspiring! Today is only four more weeks until the last day of Winter - YAY!
I know my usual weigh-in day is Wednesday, but I am waiting until tomorrow to post my weight, because I went out to dinner at 8:30pm last night and ate way more than usual. (I think I was taking advantage of the fact that I gave blood yesterday morning and found out that we use 600-650 calories to replace a pint of blood, but I fear I went overboard!) What I entered in my food diary was the food I had planned to eat; so it is not accurate for yesterday! Anyway, I'm hoping things balance out because my weight was 151.2 on Sunday, 152.0 on Monday (Why, when I was so careful?) and 154.4 this morning! I really detest these day-to-day fluctuations, but I understand that it's completely normal. I'm pretty sure I'm about 153, which is what I was on January 1st! {Oops.} That's okay; I still think I can get into the 140's by the first day of Spring, March 20, 2025. (Even if it's 149, I'll take it and be happy!) Please feel free to choose your final weigh-in date for the challenge as either the last day of winter or the first day of spring - whichever you prefer. I will keep this challenge open and leave it bookmarked until the end of March, in case anyone else still needs to post their final weight. In the meantime, I plan to create another challenge board, called "SPRING into SUMMER", that will run from Thursday, March 20th through Thursday, June 19th (13 weeks), though people can post their final weights through June 20th.
Tomorrow I promise to post my weight honestly- no matter what the scale says! (I hope my weight will have somewhat stabilized by then!)
Have a great day!

Wow- it’s 4 weeks to go til the next challenge! I know we are all doing our best!
I’ve been feeling dizzy for about a week now. Not good. I don’t know if I’m getting enough nutrition. Maybe it’s a virus? 🤷🏻♀️ I had reduced my caloric intake to 1200 cal. per day for the past month and maybe it’s just not enough? I’ve been eating more and trying to make healthy choices. I want to get back to exercising, but for now I need to take it
easy. We are stronger doing this together. I’m grateful for this community! ❤️🥗5 -

02/19-195.8-(Trend Weight: 195.1)-Spoiler Alert: Long, Sad Post. I’m up 0.2 since last weeks weigh-in. It would have been better but I gained a whole big fat pound overnight of not-worth-it. Because the gain came from bingeing on junk last night. Lots of emotional eating going on. I found out a few days ago that my friend Diane has just weeks left to live. We knew it was coming at some point. She is only semi-lucid. Not able to eat but a few bites or a little Ensure. I went to see her again yesterday and spoon-fed her some lemon filled bismark donut along with some Ensure. It’s better than nothing I suppose. My reno has slowed down again as my emergency bail-me-out crew is getting busier with other pre-scheduled things and can barely fit in any hours. It feels like everything around me is falling apart but does it make any sense or help anything if I fall apart too? I swear I’m trying as best as I can. If I could just stop the gain as I go through this process with my friend I would be happy. But the scale just keeps going up and up meaning more challenges are coming my way and I’m running out of strength. Life is going to be lonely without her. The landscape just looks barren. It’s a huge loss. Most of the time she does not make any sense when she speaks. In many ways I’ve already lost her and it’s only her body that’s left. Isn’t that horrible to say, to think, to realize? It will be hard to let go of what’s left. I just want to hold on for Dear Life!
