    Good food for thought here. Choosing a different direction other than the one normally taken when wanting a drink.

    Good morning LESS Alcohol group.

    @itladyee thank you, and yes I did have that drink Valentines Day, a glass of rose prosecco.

    I am no longer calculating my none drinking days as X number day streaks. I believe I have proved I am in the" rarely drink" category. I am very comfortable making this claim. As I have always said, I dont ever seeing myself as totally alcohol free and I would not want to appear as a hypocrite.

    Accountability February 2025

    1 A day
    15 Alcohol free days
    Exercise is going great with aquatic classes and power walking. Who says at 65 you have to crawl under a rock? :D

    @MissMay I want to be just like you when I grow up, a rarely drinker! Whether I can do it will be the true test when I have my first transatlantic trip to Spain to visit relatives. I'll have all my triggers in my face - the wine, the family argument(s), the hugs and kisses followed by "what happened to you, you got so fat" discussions, the endless "you have to eat this" pressure, not to mention the easiest part, the plane along with delays and cancellations, the lack of sleep. BTW, my family are former wine producers and still believe daily wine is good for you. The family scene is like my big fat greek wedding only more intense. Part of me wants to cancel the trip, but I don't want to chicken out. Plus, at almost 60, I should learn to stand my ground.

    @globalhiker thank you I'm touched with your post.

    I get all the baggage(pardon the pun) that comes with a long vacation and traveling, relatives and all the pressures.

    Have the vacation YOU want to remember in Spain. Not the one your family wants. I really believe you will have big success on your trip.

    I spit out coffee I was drinking when I read the part "like the big fat Greek wedding" Seriously I think all families have that to some degree.

    Hello all LESS Alcohol friends!

    I came down with a bad cold on Monday (day after little grand critters left). I rested yesterday and took a Benadryl for symptoms at bedtime (never really use this). It was pretty powerful and I got 10 hours sleep - feeling somewhat better today.

    Dying to get back to the gym later this week!

    Current:
    AF - 11
    A - 8

    Thank you @MissMay - I love your quote about self empowerment and our ability to choose a new direction.

    @globalhiker your trip to Spain this year sounds so wonderful - I can also attest that visiting family can be both fun and challenging. You can hold your head high knowing how far you’ve come in your inner most personal life. No one can take that away from you!

    My goal was to limit A drinks to Friday and Saturday, but seems like I've been have a drink on Sundays. This weeks goal is to go AF this Sunday and my work week days (Monday-Thursday).

    Great goal. You are doing well!

    Your Feb accountability looks great. So your rowing tally, is that inside rowing or outside? Which ever it is impressive.

    @tobinross your LA stats are looking great not to mention your exercise goals!

    @Born2Run1958 your Feb. stats are outstanding - you should be very proud of yourself!

    Thank you! The LAs are honestly harder than the AFs due to my all-or-nothing mentality!

    Good morning, all! Got back from visiting my babies last night. My plane got delayed on Wednesday which made it impossible to catch my connector, so I slept in the airport Wednesday night. They had recliners, so it was actually not bad and I got a full 8 hours of good rest according to my watch. That was a first...lol. I did abstain at my son's house easily, but had a few glasses of wine Wednesday and Thursday while traveling. Jumping back on the AF bandwagon today.

    AF = 14
    A = 6

    @chicbuc really you were able to sleep at the airport? Wow, I wish I had that kind of ability. I am still working on sleeping in my own bed.

    AF life continues. Drinking canned club soda (seems to have the strongest fizz level) mixed with pure lemon juice. No calories and my husband has switched over to this also, liking it better than his juice mixes. I am going to buy fresh mint to add to it. This has been trending as my preferred NA drink. Plus the lemon is supposed to do something good for my skin. Zero calories, no chemicals.

    Diet-wise I did pretty good yesterday, the powerful munchies hit at 3pm and later at 8pm. I fed my munchies with an apple and later on with a kiwi. Munchie management 101. My brain tells me I could have had a snickers bar for the same calories, but I think we were designed to eat fruit and not snickers.

    I forget who asked me about medspa stuff, I will stay quiet on that topic and if I get results will share. I am not a fan of anything invasive or anything that has a side effect. I am anti-medication. Why? I am that person that is hyper allergic and gets the majority of side effects whatever I take or do. Plus, one realization is that no matter what solution, procedure, etc is used, at some point the body will store fat because that is it's job and decide where to put it. My focus should remain in getting the calorie math and nutrient mix right and controlling the blood sugar/hormones/sleep and rest/calorie expenditure.

    Popping in to say hello on this Friday morning. I’m sipping my morning coffee and can hear the birds chirping outside my window and can see trees budding! Can wait to change our clocks forward on March 9th, and welcome longer daylight.

    Excited we are looking at gorgeous weather for the next 10 days of mid to upper 60’s - I’m a sunshine lover! Which also means I invest in a ton of sunscreen (and use it). Need to ramp up my 5 days of walking now.

    Sticking to my weekly mindful targets and haven’t had any planned wine since last Sunday…..which means I had zero yesterday when it was a yes day on my calendar.

    Let’s live our best LA life, just for today 💕
