May I pipe in? Isn't that very similar to Murphy's law but a little more pessimistic - "Anything that can go wrong, will—at the worst possible moment."?

Excellent answer, @cmsienk ... are you also a Larry Niven fan?

@nossmf, would you recommend "Ringworld" to a sci-fi fan who knows the name but has not read any of Niven's work?

That depends...are you easily offended by "adult-themed" innuendo?

Is it as good or better than "Stranger in a Strange Land"?
How does it compare to Asimov's "Foundation Trilogy"?

Did you know Stranger in a Strange Land is a song by Iron Maiden?

Do you think the song was the inspiration for the book?

@srazamora may I introduce you to Larry Niven, the sci-fi author who helped popularize the phrase "Finagle's Law" (which was discussed earlier in this thread)?

@frankwbrown while I am unfamiliar with "Stranger in a Strange Land", shall we say that if you can handle "Foundation" then you should be able to handle "Ringworld"? And from a purely readership perspective, don't I think that "Ringworld" far exceeds the adventure quota of anything Asimov ever wrote?

    How are YOU doing, Megan_smartiepants1970?

    Is Asimov a Russian novelist?

Doesn't our friend Wikipedia say the American writer Isaac Asimov was born in Russia and came to the United States at 3 years of age?
Do you think the song was the inspiration for the book?
Wouldn't that song have to have been written prior to 1961 for it to have inspired Robert Heinlein in writing his Hugo award winning novel?

It's just this thread...all others post my responses immediately and accurately, but this thread stalls and delays and eventually requires clicking "refresh" and then my response may or may not be displayed...it's almost enough to make me stop posting in this thread, KWIM?

    Don't I indeed KWYM? ☹️😒

Is the delay/timeout a consequence of the discussion having a lot of pages?
Isn't "if you could say 3 words to the person above you..." -- currently at 4,279 pages -- the only other discussion I'm aware of that suffers from this timeout problem?

Would it be beneficial if we "retired" this thread and started up a replacement questions thread?

What should we title the replacement questions only thread?
