@chicbuc really you were able to sleep at the airport? Wow, I wish I had that kind of ability. I am still working on sleeping in my own bed.
AF life continues. Drinking canned club soda (seems to have the strongest fizz level) mixed with pure lemon juice. No calories and my husband has switched over to this also, liking it better than his juice mixes. I am going to buy fresh mint to add to it. This has been trending as my preferred NA drink. Plus the lemon is supposed to do something good for my skin. Zero calories, no chemicals.
Diet-wise I did pretty good yesterday, the powerful munchies hit at 3pm and later at 8pm. I fed my munchies with an apple and later on with a kiwi. Munchie management 101. My brain tells me I could have had a snickers bar for the same calories, but I think we were designed to eat fruit and not snickers.
I forget who asked me about medspa stuff, I will stay quiet on that topic and if I get results will share. I am not a fan of anything invasive or anything that has a side effect. I am anti-medication. Why? I am that person that is hyper allergic and gets the majority of side effects whatever I take or do. Plus, one realization is that no matter what solution, procedure, etc is used, at some point the body will store fat because that is it's job and decide where to put it. My focus should remain in getting the calorie math and nutrient mix right and controlling the blood sugar/hormones/sleep and rest/calorie expenditure.

Popping in to say hello on this Friday morning. I’m sipping my morning coffee and can hear the birds chirping outside my window and can see trees budding! Can wait to change our clocks forward on March 9th, and welcome longer daylight.
Excited we are looking at gorgeous weather for the next 10 days of mid to upper 60’s - I’m a sunshine lover! Which also means I invest in a ton of sunscreen (and use it). Need to ramp up my 5 days of walking now.
Sticking to my weekly mindful targets and haven’t had any planned wine since last Sunday…..which means I had zero yesterday when it was a yes day on my calendar.
Let’s live our best LA life, just for today 💕

Everyone is doing so well. Great job everyone!
I took a few days to get my mind right before posting again because I was doing a lot of bitching! I think I’m really out of whack because it’s too cold for my walk, and I haven’t been getting any real exercise.
Anyway, have you heard of Kylie Perkins? She’s on TikTok and yells at people to clean and declutter their homes. She’s rather effective. 🤣 I spent today going through every cabinet and drawer in my kitchen. I got rid of so much stuff, rearranged things, and feel really accomplished. She has routines that are very similar to what I already do. I even put my kids to work inside the house though my husband still tries to bogart their time on Saturdays outside. But they did vacuum and dust before he got ahold of them today. And, after dinner, they did dishes without fighting!😳
Today was a good day. If I had wine, I would probably drink it, but I don’t so AF tonight. Tomorrow, we have the grands while their parents are traveling for the day, and I get to make burgers and cookies to celebrate the grandson’s birthday. I can try my hand at the homemade burger buns again (maybe I’ll get them right this time😉).
Off to bed, I think. I sleep like a log once I fall asleep. Just struggling to get there. Good night!6 -
No planned alcohol today for me. But I was daydreaming of pinot grigio yesterday while happily driving in my car. I wasn't stressed and it was a beautiful day. I was a bit hungry since it did occur after the gym. Why I want pinot grigio after a workout is beyond me.
@NonnieDoiron thanks for the de-cluttering reminder. De-cluttering is way easier than cleaning windows and ceiling fans which I haven't gotten to.
@Michieb125 weather is lovely here today and my birdies are chirping too. I'm going out for a 3 hr hike. Nothing strenuous. Today is a take it easy day.

Stuck to my personal reset challenge this week. Had wine on 2 out of 7 days….with limits in check.
Just added in some light weight training at home with my new hand weights. Sore today!
Plan is to end this short month strong.

Today it is raining and the pool is closed so I will do ab work on stability ball and free weights.
Love the declutter talk. I am kind of a minimalist anyhow, so if it does not get used or have a purpose in the future I am bound to get rid of it.

Oh @globalhiker I finally made my kraut recipe. It turned out so good. I called it German night with sides of perogies & cornbread. Instead of kielbasa I used bratwurst. Gave dinner plate to my German neighbor next door and he was in heaven eating it.

@chicbuc and @SurferGirl1982, how in the world do you not go broke living near casinos? Can’t gamble in SC, so I’m safe from my own gambling demons!🤣 I lived in CA for 3 years, and I had to be real careful about going to casinos. I only went a couple of times.

Still going AF over here. I see March coming our way this Saturday (already!). My crystal ball says we'll all do way better than February in all our health goals because Spring is coming and motivation will be there to feel and look better.
Speaking of living with intention, I am intently working on my calorie math skills. I now started wearing my garmin watch soon as I wake up to track my total calories burned until I go to bed. Yesterday I hit 1800 calories. On my non-exercising days, it's low at 1200. Now I have made a fun game out of it to try to get to 2000 calories. It is a big challenge for me since I sit all day long M-F and my hips show it.

Quick update on my goal to stay alcohol-free (AF) this past Sunday. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. We attended a family funeral on Saturday, and after the service, my husband and I ended up joining family at two different bars. The conversation was so good, and I was having a great time catching up with everyone, so I ended up having more drinks then I intended.
By Sunday, I was in recovery mode and ended up having a "recovery drink" to help get back on track. It wasn’t the AF day I had hoped for, but I’m not discouraged. March will bring some adjustments to my goals and plans. Life happens, and it’s all part of the journey.
Thanks for being supportive and I’m looking forward to continuing this with all of you!

Walked and picked up trash the past 2 days. Lots of trash. Hip was fine while walking, didn’t start hurting until evening.
Cooked tonight, but the food was too heavy or something. I have felt sick ever since dinner.

Hi everyone! Just caught up to all the posts.
I have been lolling on the beach in Grand Cayman since Thursday, just came back last night. OMG it was so wonderful! We want to go back next year, stay for longer, and eventually be snowbirds there. We briefly thought about buying a place until we heard about the earthquakes, on top of the hurricanes they are subject to. Nope! Renting is for us!
At any rate, I drank a LOT (spread out over each day). It was a choice that I don’t
regret. You don’t want to see my stats, trust me , they are bad! But back at it today, along with getting back to exercising regularly again. But oh, the deep relaxation that comes with looking at that turquoise water while reclining on a beach chair in the shade, with a novel and my husband. Pure, relaxed bliss!6 -

I had trouble getting back on track, but finally managed last night, but I slept terribly. There are no immediate plans to throw me off track as of now. My February goal was to be over half AF, so I've achieved that. Now I would like to expand on it in March.
We do have cruise on March 8th. I usually just take short cruises for little weekend breaks here and there, but this one is a 7-night, so I will probably drink 7 days. Let's see how successful I can be ONLY drinking 7 days in March or even taking a day or 2 off drinking on the cruise!

You guys are doing amazing. Reading through the posts I see MORE AF, than I see A listed in your accountability.
Since it is only 28 days this month it feels like we are handed a gift for goal setting.
@womona your vacation sounds wonderful. I know you will be on track soon with your LESS alcohol determination.
Including today only THREE more to get us to the end of Feb. March is closer than you think.
