Good morning ladies!
I have been plateaued for weeks. Finally the scale started to move again. Down 2 this week. I started trying to incorporate a little more exercise in my days. And when I say little it’s been little.3 -
@GardenQueen30 Thank you for the encouragement. I had an appointment with the doctor last week to discuss the MRI results. When I tore my lateral and medial meniscus, I did a really good job. Both of the tears are sideways, and they are the kind that requires a repair. (Not the kind that they just snip away the little piece that is causing the pain.) I will be on crutches for 2 weeks. I am trying to hold off until next month so my hubby can be home with me for a few days. I will be doing PT after the surgery. I am doing some PT on my own to strengthen my legs as much as possible prior to surgery. As for the physical activity, it has become a little bit of an obsession to me. The PA looked at me a little funny when my first question was when can I start lifting weights again.2

@kiteflyer105 Thank you for the prayers, I really appreciate them! Please remember to give yourself grace. Yes, January was rough, but you recognized it, and you are taking steps to do better and making better decisions. I hope you post here more often. Everyone here is very supportive. Plus, I look forward to seeing the great things that you will accomplish!1

Good morning! Read your posts since last I posted. I am hovering weight wise before hopefully losing. I realized that last week I walked 2.8 miles so that is just about the length of the walk around Greenlake which is one of my goals so today I plan to walk around Greenlake despite the rain. I will let you know how it goes.4

I did it! I walked around Greenlake. I ran into an old friend and talked so was standing or walking for over 2 hours.1

Posted just because it has been so long since a check in. Not bad after getting through Valentine's day and Girl Scout cookie season. I went up a bit and am now back down. Our youngest had a car accident - they are fine but insurance is calling it a total loss although only a few scrapes, 1 dent and a drivers side side view mirror damaged. So I have been dealing with that. I need to get more exercise this week. I need to fit in some 30 minute sessions between my longer session.1 -

I am wearing a size down in my aquafit swim suit I bought when I lost weight during the pandemic. My next goal is to get down to what I lost during the economic downturn when I lost 40 lbs. So that is another 25 lbs. I am going for a walk now and then make a healthy dinner tonight. Tired of losing the same 5 lbs.0 -
Happy Wednesday! Here in Oregon it is sunny and the birds are singing. It really feels like airing is starting to spring. I am fighting hard to be back on track with my nutrition this week, now that I am finally over the flu and working out 5 times a week. Today I’m at 195.9 lbs (starting weight in July: 228.8), and my gut seems to be much happier with all the vegetables I have been eating. I’m trying to keep that trend going strong, but it’s always a challenge to get enough protein in. Relying a lot on powders and bars these days to get my macros right. Cooking for the macros becomes tiresome. Losing weight is just so much work. I am feeling achy today because I’ve had 3 days straight of body work: PT on Tuesday, massage yesterday, chiropractic today. I have a partially torn hamstring (on top of my torn meniscus 🫠) and struggling with neck tightness and pain from the flu. Sore sore sore everywhere. And have a SUPER busy few days ahead. So trying to take it one step at a time and stay focused. Thankfully my injuries are mild, I can still exercise, but I have to be really gentle with myself. God bless you all and know you’re not alone in the struggle. Enjoy whatever good weather you have!!2

Well, it's not where I wanted to be at the end of the month, but I am far from where I was last April. I have a feeling this "gain" will resolve itself in the next few days. It seems to happen when I change up my workouts. I was working with a really great trainer since July. She was the manager at the local Anytime Fitness gym. We seemed to inspire each other - I was her first client that wanted to do workouts in addition to the two gym sessions. I made good progress. She ended up leaving AF and going to another local gym that only does group training. She wanted to start her own personal training as well. That was the plan. Over the last two weeks she has kind of blown me off and has not set any workouts in the app that we were using. I am not going to take this personally, she is young, just purchased a home and seems overwhelmed with her new job. With all that said, I have found an app that I am using for my workouts called HEVY. I have taken what I have learned in the last 7 months and doing more research to see what works best for me. Since I started my own workouts this week, I feel a little sorer than I have been, so I do think some of my gain is water weight (and to be honest some may be King Cake).
I will take the time this evening to set some new goals and a plan on how to get there. Maybe I need to weigh in daily to see my average (and take the emotion out of the equation). Maybe it is as simple as getting back to the basics - pull out the food scale, log my water intake and my steps. I have 55 days to make my goal of my weight number starting with a 1. In 55 days, it will be 1 year that I started this journey. I know I with my upcoming knee surgery I need to make sure my food is on track since my physical activity will be limited.
Well Mardi Gras is next Tuesday, and I will be happy once this season has passed. For those that don't know about Mardi Gras - it is a time of indulgence right before the Lent season begins. The festivities seem endless - food, King Cake, alcohol, balls and parades. It's a relief when things settle down and get back to normal. I am not in New Orleans; I am a couple of hours away in the heart of Cajun Country. They say the festivities here are more "family friendly." My hubby and I don't participate anymore. We have a low tolerance for crowds and especially crowds where lots of alcohol is involved. I prefer to feel safe at home.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you on the March thread.

This was a wild little month that began and ended with 219.
My starting weight during the holidays was 230 though, so as long as I keep away from that? A win's a win.
New favorite breakfast: greek yogurt and fruit. This month taught me to look after my good gut bacteria or suffer. March is gonna be good.I made it to the gym 5 times and I'll be there more now that I'm wanting to run again.

Where is the march thread?2

@RavenStCloud usually starts the thread, we'll see.
I'm back! I hit 180.2 on the scale, up over my red line, so here I am back again, ready to make the habits that are going to carry me. Starting with logging my food today, intentionally getting my 8k steps today, going to the gym today, drinking my water today, and re-engaging with my spreadsheet and graphs. No more watching the weight creep up, time to act.4 -
I don't know if anyone is checking in here but I thought I'd share something just in case. I'm not promoting Weight Watchers, but there's a special for $10 a month for the next 10 months that expires tonight at midnight if you'd been considering it. I found out about it yesterday and thought I'd give it a try since my daughter started in Jan and is happy with the program. I like the format and it's easy to use because it's a lot like MFP. Doesn't give calories, just macros which is what I've been doing for about a year now. I will definitely keep up with mfp 'cuz I love you all and want to stay in touch. I'll use both formats to log my food because both are useful and it'll be fun to compare. I'll probably choose one or the other once I decide which is more useful or maybe I'll stay with both. I'm signed up for 10 months so I'm going to use it. I'll check in when I have more time to write but I wanted to let anyone know if they're interested. Sorry for the short notice.1
