Hi All,
I'm back for another month.
I'm a 47 year old, 5' 2", busy mom of 5. I lost 40 pounds and then flirted with my goal weight for almost a year. The scale was going steadily up for several months, so I'm bringing it back down. I'd love to get to my goal weight of 120-123 in the next couple months and then *maintain* it.

03/01-196.4-(Trend Weight: 196.4)-
03/02-195.4-(Trend Weight: 196.5)- Day 2 of no heat in my house. In Northern Michigan thatβs dangerous! When power went out Friday night and came back on Saturday morning I didnβt realize it had done something to my furnace. Auto ignition of pilot just wonβt work. It comes on but then goes right back off and nothing but very cold air blowing out of ducts. I had to shut it off at the fuse box and turn the gas off to make sure it would not build up gas so it would quit trying to run and warm it up in here. My thermostat has no βoffβ and the house is colder than the lowest selection so it just kept running. Because I was at the funeral service and dinner until after dark last night, I didnβt realize my house wasnβt getting any heat. Last night was night two of freezing to death. These little ceramic space heaters are only spot heaters so they are not warming up a room, but at least I can stand within 2 feet of them and feel some relief for myself and the cat. They are very tiny but I have 2 of them. Not much help in a 3200+ sq foot house! Of course itβs Sunday and Iβm in a very rural area where nothing would ever be open on Sundayβs except the churches. No big box stores here anyway! So Iβve got my 30 year old nephew coming over whoβs pretty handy. He has changed out thermo couplers and such in the past. He works as a handyman in the area, but mostly ships off to Oregon to work. Thankfully heβs home right now and will come look at it this morning. I hope he can fix it. He thinks that when the power came back on it may have pushed through some sediment that has to be cleaned. We will not be able to get any parts until tomorrow if we need something new. Fingers crossed for me please. Thank you all for the kind words about my friend Diane. She was beautiful yesterday.
03/03-195.4-(Trend Weight: 196.4)- I know what I did under the veil of darkness last night (snack-wise) so I am happy with my weight staying the same. My trend weight even dribbled down a bit. I also know I need to increase my exercise. My lack of true movement has been ridiculous. Iβm not making excuses, but I spent a lot of time in the past months just sitting (or laying down) with my friend Diane as she bravely fought her cancer. Sheβs in heaven now and itβs time for me to refocus. I still feel ready to do that, even after more emotional eating last night. I am grateful for MFP and all the support from all of you here. My actions need to better reflect that. My BHAG (big hairy-*kitten* goal) looms front & center. { I pirated BHAG from another challenge and MFP friend.) Bring it on! I can do better than just staying exactly the same after 7 full days. I hate just being stagnant but Iβm grateful for no gain. Itβs been an especially rough week!

03/04-195.6-(Trend Weight: 196.3)- Iβm still eating way too fast which causes me to eat more as I try to fill in a specific time frame that feels normal to me. Growing up I was one of 6. And three of them were brothers who all grew to 6 feet tall. One is 6β5β. It was grab and eat or get none. But I think the biggest influence was my factory job at age 18 when the breaks were short (15 min) and the walk to and from the break room was long. Shovel that snack in! I smoked back then too and had to have time for the cigarette as well. Iβm turning 65 this year and old habits are still hard to break. I think I would eat less, especially the snacks, if I would just slow down. When I swallow it whole, I need two protein bars instead of one! This is what I will be working on in the coming days. I hope it will make a difference. My meals, while eating too fast, are still good because itβs a PLATE of food. Those snacks, however, are small. Itβs too easy to double up. Iβm not a pig, Iβm a human. I need to act like one. T-Minus 0.2 on my birthday goal with 9.8 lbs to go by May 10th.

Not sure I like this new format - but it is what it is! Leaving bright and early this morning on our trip. Hope to stay within my five pound maintenance range - but ideally my goal is to stay under my goal weight (140). Will have a couple challenging food days, but most of the time will just be Greg and I, so should be ok - the biggest obstacle will be the lack of exercise time and the salt in the restaurant food. I'll do my best.

Anyways, walked the last two days over lunch and did my 200 minutes under the desk peddling both days while staying under calories. Added a new goal as we made a last minute decision to go visit family on 4/19 so i want to be under 145 by then. I think itβs doable. I also am giving up pop/soda for Lent even though I drink diet anyways, less sugar is always a good thing. Hopefully next weigh in my drawer will be one shirt less!

Meals have been good but those snacks were so much better than they have been lately. I did try to slow down my eating but kept forgetting. Iβll keep working on that. My dinner was later (9:30 pm) so maybe that helped. I need to work harder on exercise and movement. Iβm really trying to make a lot of changes that get me back in the game. I just wish the scale would have reflected how well I ate yesterday! βGood things come to those who waitβ. I must remember that.

Iβm really trying to make a lot of changes that get me back in the game. I just wish the scale would have reflected how well I ate yesterday! βGood things come to those who waitβ. What is "Save Draft" next to the Post Reply button? I'm not understanding that if we save draft, how do we pull it back up for usage? Sorry, I'm old and not very tech savvy.
