276 mi/2025 miles done. This morning was not great, only had the energy for 7 miles at medium-hard intensity. I'll try to sneak in another half hour mid-afternoon. Interesting comment about burning maximum fatty acids, I need to look that up. I can use all the fat burning science!

@mari33a, Good work you are really doing good.

    @globalhiker,

The research suggested my Maximum Oxidated Fatty Acid Burning Load Range in Watts is 115 to 125 Watts based upon weight.

Considering I am overweight, I started at 115 W for two hours with a 5 min warmup and cooldown using my trainer in ERG mode. That ride was Ride Mon, 3/3 Zwift - Maximum Oxidated Fatty Acid Burning Training Ride 33.50 mi. Interesting that this ride hinted at why determining the best Zone 2 HR to train at is so hard because my HR rose from 106 BPM to 130 BPM with the same continuous 115 W riding load. Your HR increases as you fatigue even at this 115W load. See my HR and Power recordings over the 2 h 10 m.

I'll find out next week at weigh in!

RIDE Wed 3/5 Zwift - Mayan San Remo in Watopia 23.35 mi, 1,276 ft, 2h 0m.

So far in March I rode 118.06 mi.

My 2025 YTD Total Cycling Distance is 927.45 mi.

    Everyone is doing fantastic!!

Did more Zwifting today - racing the Zwift Games, and spun the big wheel again (and got the FINAL unlock that's available in stage 1! Wee! Means there's no pressure to spin it anymore this week - Monday I'll be resuming tons of short little rides trying to score those prizes lol).

The Zwift Games race was particularly brutal. I went FAR too hard, maintaining above my FTP for most of the 10 mile race.

(BTW, for those who want to return to the single-line spacing? I don't know how you'd do it on mobile, but if you're on a computer with a keyboard, hold down 'shift' as you hit 'return (or enter depending on your keyboard)' and you'll do a single-line space instead of a double! The more you know. 😁)

    Ride 1 -          10.11 miles <- Zwift Games Race
Ride 2 -           4.76 miles <- Zwift Big Spin, late join

@Mari33a My pleasure! Been dealing with wonky forum formatting for so many years, it's become easy to figure out and adjust. 😅

No spinning today on the Big Spin, so did one of the larger challenge workouts instead. Fun times! (The Zwift BMX bike is a piece of junk so far as virtual bike stats are concerned, but it's so much fun that I really don't care lmao)

Zwift Games, race 2. Rolling hills, but nothing too serious - more of a sprint stage than anything appropriate for climbers. Apparently the climb stages are going to be 3 and 4. The BMX is going to be an absolutely inappropriate frame for those stages… so I'm, of course, going to use it because I take my video game cycling so seriously. 🤣

327/2025 miles done & included this morning's 13 mile RPM class. The cycling is helping my running. I am up to running 65 minutes straight without walking as my Sunday long run. Also made a switcheroo in my diet and dropped another lb. this week. I cut back on the high protein yogurt (zero fat and zero sugar) and replaced it with a slice of whole grain ezekiel bread with 1 TBSP peanut butter, so yes fat and carbs and voila. There's something going on with food allergies and inflammation that I swear blocks me from weight loss and I need to do a better job of rotating foods to work around this.

Great info about burning fatty acids, thank you! My bike at the gym class does show wattage and I will pay attention today to what it displays.

Today, all Zwift. An insane number of short rides, too, because that silly roulette wheel isn't giving me what I need. (insert colorful language here) OH WELL! Just means even more tiny rides on the hour every available hour tomorrow to hunt down the items I desire lol

I took planned rest day on Sunday but then things didn't work out as I wanted yesterday and missed out too. I got up earlier this morning to make sure it didn't happen again.

Finished all my roulette wheel spinning in Zwift today - first ride didn't even record because I didn't have to pedal. The late-join function put me 300 feet from the finish arch so I coasted in. Second actually involved some pedaling, so that one counts! LOL And third ride (recorded as my 2nd, because I actually pedaled) was a meetup with friends from around the world.

Everyone's doing so well! Get those miles!

354/2025 miles done. So my average wattage on the lifecycle is 48. EEK, sounds low.

Sounds low and that is with doing intervals and giving it my 80%-90% effort. I spent 50% of my time in Zone 2 with some Zone 3-4 spikes and the rest in Zone 1, yet my heart rate is in the 145-150 rate pretty much the whole time (same heart rate as my outdoor running easy hills). My resting heart rate is usually 50. I'll pay more attention to the numbers to see how it changes.

Thinking of pairing running days with cycling after to extend the total cardio time to get a longer fat burn and then have 2 full days off exercise a week for recovery, like Tues and Fri. where I just do stretching, easy walking, and upper body weights.

    Another few miles this evening.
@globalhiker I do that too. I do a 3ish mile run & then 7-8 miles on bike almost every day

I used to do one or other & for more miles but last October I hurt my foot arch I didn’t want to stop running until it healed so cut back the miles & did a little of both. I actually really enjoy it now
