While I didn't make green pancakes on Monday to celebrate St Patrick's day, didn't I make green oatmeal cookies with almonds, cashews and sunflower seeds? Don't I have some in the freezer now to enjoy on some future Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday…?

Don't I add those ingredients not just because the resulting cookies taste good, but also because I can then convince myself that I'm eating "healthy" cookies, despite there still being a good deal of sugar in them?

By the time my wife gets done adding cream and sugar to her coffee, does it still qualify as flavored coffee? Or has it become coffee-flavored sugar sludge?

Aren't my coffees at least 10% half and half? Don't the two generous teaspoons in my 16 ounce coffee (which seems like a lot) pale in comparison to the ~ten teaspoons of "sugar" in a can of soda or a Snapple?

Since I prefer a true southern sweet tea (boiled to allow even greater dissolving of sugar content), why don't I slowly back away from this conversation now?
