Why does my daily goal say 1201 calories and my base goal show 1300 calories?

Because it has adjusted your net goal for the day, allowing for the 99 burnt with excercise.
so you start with 1201 and then have 99 more to eat that day to acccount for the 99 calories out by exercise.

That looks like negative "exercise" calories. One way that can happen is when you have a fitness tracker synced to MFP, negative adjustments enabled in MFP (as they should be), and your tracker sees you as moving less than MFP expected you to move based on your demographic and (especially) activity level setting. If that happens, MFP will subtract calories from your goal in order to keep the calorie deficit that's estimated to trigger the X pounds or kilos of weekly weight loss you told MFP you wanted.
