4/11 ‼️I’m here! I’ll get the formatting & goals down when I get home either tomorrow or Sunday. I weighed 132.4 when I woke up at 3:00 this morning… it’s just not fair, but it is what it is! I did get six hours of sleep so it’s not too-too bad!
I’m at my state tennis tournament. I did not log, but I had 2 egg breakfast, healthy chicken salad for lunch and then this evening I had cheese, shrimp and one tequila/fresh lime juice.
My team is tied for 1st out of 8 teams. We’re all so happy that we won two matches because last year at this time we were 0-2 so it’s a huge improvement. We have a great attitude about tomorrow, just to enjoy the great weather and competition!

We play tomorrow @8am and noon. I have to be there at 7:15 so hopefully I’ll get some pretty good sleep tonight. I shared that I would be dedicated this round and I am planning on it!!

    @skyleen75 @_jeffreyD_

Southern drawl? twang? Gosh, I really don’t know… When I lived in San Francisco for eight years, I was told that I had a southern accent… Then I moved to Georgia for four years and they told me I did not! (Considering!) My beloved town I live in and grew up in - is a melting pot N of New Orleans and Lake Ponchartrain , so I would say I have a mild southern accent. My dad was from Chicago, my mom from South Louisiana - Acadiana at its finest. I’m a product of their vernacular…
I wish everyone a great round!
TMI- so yes, I WILL be very dedicated this round… You see, Staying in hotel room tonight. I the opportunity to stare at my body getting out of the shower… Ugh. We don’t have full length mirrors in our bathrooms, & my closet mirror I avoid… But I got a good look at this BODY this evening and I was not impressed. I THINK IT’S THE FIRST TIME I REALLY STARED AT THE 66 YEAR OLD BODY IN YEARS… SO OK OK I’M NOT OVERWEIGHT PER SE BUT WHEN YOU HAVEN’T LOOKED AT YOUR BODY IN AT LEAST 10 YEARS, IT’S PRETTY SHOCKING… LOTS TO ACCEPT AND MOVE FORWARD. (I don’t know why those turned all caps but I’m too tired to go back and fix it). Good night all…. I’ll post my team photo when I get home!

    OSW- 405lb (April 3rd 2025)

    Round 292 end weight- 395.9lb

Goal for this round- under 390lb!

My main aim for this round is to try and get more sleep! Except tonight because I am up way too late… and I am being picked up in 2 hours for my volunteer job….then an 8 hour close at my paid job right after. I'm going to be hurting tomorrow! lol.

4/11- 393.7lb (there's a whoosh from the last 2 days. Today I had afternoon tea with some friends to celebrate me getting into my school of choice and a light farewell since I leave in August. I enjoyed every moment of it and I don't regret it. I had a smaller supper later on and tried to stay hydrated)

But, here I am and I'll count this as a NSV. Post-Friday night with DD#2, so this should be my "high weight" of the round. My goal is to get back under 130 in the next 2 weeks. It comes on so fast and leaves so slowly…

    Round 292 End Weight 176.6

    4/11 177.6

4/12 177.8 I deserve this!!! I handled the day well. I had a bit of a back and forth with DH over what restaurant to have “linner”. I gave in because in fairness, I win this stand off 99% of the time.

I always, always, always order badly at this particular restaurant. Even their salads are unpleasant to me. I ordered like a toddler and had chicken quesadillas which were a big calorie bomb. At least when you eat the entire thing and the French fries and two cosmos…
Not the best start to the weekend.

Heading to the gym for body combat followed by an hour of strength with my hardcore girls. I have two different garage gangs of women I work out with outside of the gym.
My hardcore girls- six of us ranging from late 40’s to early fifties. We fit in workouts chaotically around our schedules and go HARD.

And the other is my ride or die group- eleven of us mostly mid sixties- mid seventies. We consistently work out three mornings a week at varying intensities. Going on five years together. We laugh HARD.

Winter is going out with a bang and a fierce little snow storm this morning. I love it!!!

@AR10at50 in upstate NY it used to be Memorial Day for most veggies and annuals but that has been shifted to Mothers Day in recent years.

We call the April snow storms “the poor man’s fertilizer” as it gives a little nitrogen boost.

@Chapter_3 I’m sticking with a lovely gentle southern drawl for you!! Maybe a little twang mixed in.

I adore a localized accent. They are a dying breed. I remember learning that there is an accent museum. They record people speaking along with their geographic locations. Noting a sharp decrease in specific accents. I read this article back in the late nineties.

My mother has a strong Brooklyn accent which is very different from Queens or Staten Island or Long Island or Northern Jersey.

Challenges: Doing 30-day carnivore challenge. Not just to lose pounds/inches (although that’s good too!) but also to hopefully reap some of the other claimed benefits: improved: sleep, mental clarity, cognition, energy, joint pain, skin, mood. Reduced: brain fog, fatigue, cravings, inflammation, bloating.

Goals: This week’s goal is to cut down on sweet-n-low in my coffee. It’s my biggest weakness for carnivore and only “cheat” I struggle to shake. Trying to learn to love unsweetened coffee! 🫣 (and as a first timer, actually hitting “post reply” for this post)

    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 196.4

04/11-DNW- (Trend Weight: DNW) No Weigh Friday. Kids are back in school as most roads have been made passable after the ice storm of the century. Today will be lots more of the yard clean up. A widow maker (large part of a tree top hanging by a thread) will be looked at hopefully today by a tree service. It is dangling dangerously near my main power lines coming in to the house and needs to be removed. It will be another long hard day. I must plan my meals and stick to the plan. It’s just too easy at this time to grab & go in the chaos. Better planning equals better results!

🐰 🐰 🐰 🐰 🐰04/12 – 196.4 (Trend Weight – 195.4) Honestly, I thought it would be more than 1 lb gain. It’s really been a grab & go frenzy here but my yard after the Ice Storm of the Century is slowly getting cleaned up. Today is supposed to be beautiful so lots will get done. Also, my son from a neighboring county will be coming to haul off some of the big tree trunks. Finally, some help! For this round I have entered my starting weight for the round as today’s weight since I didn’t weigh yesterday. I’ve got to pull it together but it won’t be today. I’m just happy for the help I’ll be getting from son and from daughter’s boyfriend.

    Hi, I'm Charissa.

Thank you, @quiltingjaine for continuing these supportive rounds!

April = March Do Over!! It WAS working….

I tanked last round for sure!
Last few days been spent fretting over things I can't control. Enough already… Moving on….

What can I control… me! At least attempting to…. so refocusing on everything, starting today. File Under: I know what I need to do, now, just do it!!!

    Meal & Water Plan ✅
    Alcohol 🚫
    Exercise ✅
    Personal Time ✅

January: good until I got sick. (I rarely get sick ~ thanks grandkids! )
February: it seemed my body was trying to overcompensate for being sick....it was odd.
March R1: I did fairly well last round, Down 2.2 vs the 3.3 that I wanted but I will take as a win. Continuing my focus for the month, micromanaging! My March BHAG ~Big Hair Audacious Goal is to lose 10lbs. 10lbs in March translates to about 3.9 pounds for the next 2 rounds. March R2 ~ screech and halt. I stopped micromanaging and was just mentally blah. Back on it for the remainder of the month. Surely won't do 10 but I can stay below my ending February number!

    How Will I do this:

Micromanager ~ proactive and timely review of my actions.

Aiming for 10k steps per day. Aim to burn 2,900+ calories (per Apple watch which translates into closing my move goal)

TDEE experiment ~ I will elaborate on this after a couple of weeks.

    Modified Goals (see below)

    Overall Goals for 2025
Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾‍♀️
Q: What will be different in 2025 vs all the other times?
    A: Change in my mindset
    A: Being mindful and engaged
A: Addressing the elephant in the room!
    A: No excuses
    A: DETERMINED AND ENGAGED
Note: These are pretty much my same goals from 2023 and 2024, I've made some great progress but now it's time to knock this list out! My goals are SMART - just not including all the details here:
    Goal#1 - Calories - 1650. **Eat well 🥗to Live Well ?✈️🚢💼
Goal#2 - Wine/Alcohol Reduction - 85% Dry March or better ** 🚫🍷Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!
    Goal #3 - Water - Minimum 50 ounces - Maximum 100 (only if consumed before 6pm) H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Goal #4 - Exercise - 6 days a week (Cardio, Core, Stretching, Strength Training) ~ 🚶🏾‍♀️‍➡️🏋🏾‍♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goal #5 - Self Care (Reading, Journaling, Monthly recap, Learning, Pampering)
Goal #6 - Organization and Declutter (Finish unpacking)

YAy for us! I have a lifelong fear of dentists due to my first experience when I was quite young. That dentist didn’t believe in numbing meds and gave us (my brother and myself) a “Bufferin” and had us wait for it to work. It was a terrible experience and scarred me for life

Oh my… My dentist gave me numbing meds but had me wait 2 to 3 hours for it to kick in. Mind you as a child/teen having to sit in a dentist chair for that amount of time with no cell phone or anything to really pass the time. (I'm sure I read a book). So going to the dentist was a low priority and when things got bad, I would "deal" with it until I couldn't anymore. As an adult, when I went to a dentist alone, imagine my fright when I was given the meds and the dentist returned in less than 5 minutes ready to begin work!

@_JeffreyD_ Sorry to hear of the diagnosis of your DSIL. Pray with you and your family that it's early and can be treated.

@FWSWCindy ~ Welcome and congrats on your retirement!

    @Chapter_3 ~ Great picture!

@CamandJarvis ~ Instant Pots are great! What did you make?

@Skyleen75 ~ An accent museum! Fascinating!

    @MJPitter ~ Welcome!

@itladyee I can sympathize with your dental experience. My childhood dentist would tell me to offer the pain up to god.

Fortunately, today the meds are so good and they are so fast you are out of there in an instant, feeling nothing. Big change!
