Corey's out having fun, pushing over small trees and digging up fenceposts (by pushing them over, too). Just glad the decision's made, and we have his new toy in hand, and he's not out there killing himself to do all these same things, because he would be. Worth any price, in all honesty. Oh - and Lanette - not a Kubota, but a Bad Boy.
Corey's quite pleased with the diesel engine, and we went ahead and purchased insurance for it that includes "varmint coverage," in case the rats chew any wires. It uses the same engine that he deals with in many of their larger pieces of equipment at work, and they do any warranty work here near us.
Before anyone gets too het up about us getting rid of trees, if you shoved a broom handle in the dirt here, you'd have a tree there next year. Everything grows so fast in this country that keeping up with it has gone beyond our capability to keep the land clear around the house. Thus, the tractor.
Finally got my own nausea to settle with the help of a Zofran. Am just beginning the two weeks before the next Skyrizi shot, and feeling a tad bit fragile. Someone else (Carla, I think) called it the "crap gap." Yeah, that's too close for comfort.
So I ordered some chain for use in dragging a lot of this stuff he's pushing over. It's ready for pickup at Lowe's, and I will drive down there in an air-conditioned car… but will take a gallon bag with me. Just in case.
Later, my loves,

Lisa - What a marketing choice a small piece of "heavy equipment" called "Bad Boy" made me smile… It looks like a really handy piece of equipment for your property.
Kim

Lisa - love the "Bad Boy" tractor and driver, lol. Does it have a brush hog (sometimes called a bush hog I believe) attached? My DH spent many happy hours on this tractors mowing down weeds and brush in the pastures we weren't haying years ago. You're so right, it will save Corey time and his own body wear and tear.
Sorry to hear about the nausea. Glad your shot is coming up in a couple weeks.
Lanette 😎

Well the C diff came back negative which is good, but sheesh,im up constantly in the bathroom..staying close to home

Started feeling better, and took on some chain work… was able to pull three fence posts out of there in ten minutes, ones I had worked on for two DAYS without anything to show for it but sore muscles and dirt. It was incredibly satisfying.
Lanette - no brush hog, but that's because we're scraping it all the way down past the top soil layer due to the load of old trash everywhere. $5,000 of this tractor purchase will be saved by not hiring someone to do most of the cleanup on the crack house.
The bucket in front and the box blade on back mean we can take trees down as big around as my forearm, whether in front of or behind the tractor, pulling or pushing. Just yank them up by the roots, that and a couple hundred feet of chain link fence.
Phone calls tomorrow to get a big roll-off dumpster out here and commence clean up! Busy summer to come... But so satisfying.

got my new monkey feet in the mail! Love them!

😀 I am treating myself to a few minutes at the computer. The dogs are asleep. We slept late this morning. We usually get up just before 5 and this morning when I opened my eyes I could see light outside because it was 6:20. After a quick dog walk, I ate my regular breakfast (chocolate Isagenix shake—-20 grams of protein and lot of other nutrients and chocolate for fun) and did all my regular morning chores which included sitting on the couch with Annie and throwing the ball while watching YouTube. We finally headed out for our morning walk at 8:15. On the part of the walk when I go out alone, Annie grabbed my napkin off the table and chewed on the napkin ring.
😀 Lisa, I watch Britbox and have found several series I love. I also have PBS Masterpiece and Acorn so I'm not sure which show is on which channel. I've watched all the seasons of Death in Paradise including the newest one. When I leave one or both of the dogs home alone, I put on a musical (like Oklahoma or South Pacific) so they get music and pleasant dialogue to keep them company. When we lived on our five acre farm in Northern California we had a John Deere tractor with all sorts of attachments . Jake loved it but it was too much for me.
😀 Lanette, thank you for the book recommendations. I wrote them down. They are available at my library either as books, audiobooks, or ebooks so I'll get to them soon. Right now I'm reading How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristen Perrin.
😀 After years of telling others to not let the numbers on the scale be a big influence, I find myself thinking about eating ice cream since the doctor was concerned that I'd lost too much weight.
😀 Machka, congrats on the improvement in your shoulder.

Good evening ladies:
Carol - I think most of us endure what we need to too.
Allie - I am sorry you don't have an answer but am glad it is not c-dliff. I am in agreement with Margaret that it can well be your microbiome is messed up from the antibiotics. Pre and probiotics may be the ticket. It's miserable no matter what it is.
Margaret- I agree with you there is much in the modern diet that does not help us. Too much gluten is bothersome at times.I mainly cook from home and don't eat processed foods. I have gotten sloppy on that the last couple of months and notice it. Using my recover time to get back on track once I am off the extreme low fat thing.
Lisa - cute new toy. In addition to the money and the wear and tear on Corey-he will save time he can spend with you!
Pip -I'm not sure about monkey feet for walking/running but I have started wearing toe socks and those really seem to help my feet.
Barbie - nothing wrong with a serving of real ice cream occasionally!
Terri - I am starting to trace my father's family and discovered today that my great grandfather and his wife (GGM) immigrated from Stewartstown, County Tyronne in the later 1800's (I guess potato feminine time). Looks like it has never been more than a modest village. Do you live anywhere in that general area?
Uneventful day. Had nice visit with eldest brother and wife. When I move they want to check my place out on their next trip up.They want a place with little upkeep. My brother is 80 and a good 20 years older than SIL. We shall see. They brought in groceries to me. Didn't take money from me-I pick up dinner next visit.
Did not feel alot like cooking so I had them bring simple fat free items to compliment what I have. I made skinless chicken breast in salsa for dinner. Made three servings. Have some tilapia in freezer. They got me a carnation instant breakfast (a special one, not the original) that hospital dietician recommended due to over all nurtritional value. Have salad, tuna, fat free dressings.
Well, I have rotated from one chair, to couch to another chair so I think it is time to rotate into bed. Tomorrow I am allowed to take a shower! That is exciting (and if you have ever had to go several days without one due to surgery-you know what a treat that is!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohi

Did Prevention Fit after 40DVD then one section of 10 Minute Solution Yoga DVD then took my walk around the block.
Heather – congrats on another win
Lanette – another thing about trips being different when you’re older than when you were 20. You have to remember to take ALL the medications….lol
The prep stuff for my colonoscopy was supposed to come in the mail this week. So far it hasn’t come. Guess if it doesn’t come by Monday I should give them a call to say it hasn’t come. Not that I want to.
Well, I’ve decided to tell BK Monday that Wed. will be my last day. I spoke to Vince, at first I was going to tell them Wed. that that would be my last day. He said (which is true) that other companies can call and ask if an employee is rehirable. By telling them on Wed. they could interpret that as my not rehirable. So I’ll tell them Monday. If they say “you can use today as your last day”, I intend to say “are you sure? I’m willing to stay until Wednesday” The store manager is not stupid, I’m sure she can figure out why I’m leaving
Got the first row on two of the towel toppers done so that I can finish them at bowling Wednesday. I’m assuming that I won’t be subbing for anyone.
Off to shower and then bed. Work tomorrow

Hello Everyone;
I didn't get on here yesterday due to travel fatigue. I told DH that I wanted to rest before getting Rose. So, we got her later, and she pulled that poor young man out and went right to me. Then DH gave her a belly rub, and she was whining like," I missed you guys so much!" Then we went home and talked about me staying in Mississippi a little longer to ensure DS had the insurance he needed. DH said no that he was coming to get me by 2/28/2026. Then, he wanted to plan our next vacation. I told him that I wanted to get over this one first. I work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week. So I will be dead tired by that Monday. I dropped DH off at the airport so he could get back to Chicago. Now it is just me and Rose.
I tend to eat less without DH. I told him that it is less calories to eat at home than at restaurants. He disagrees. We had Mexican yesterday, and he ate 2 of my three tacos and some of my rice and beans. Tonight, I had a p3 pack and cereal 1/2 cup. DH was upset that he gained 8 pounds, and I stayed the same. I met some lovely people at the airport. This man was watching me knit at the airport, and he told me to send the scarf to him when I was done. DH has already claimed it. Unfortunately, I am making it for DS.Rita, I am so sorry about little Brownie. He was well-loved, and now that he has crossed the "Rainbow Bridge," he is free of pain and suffering.
Heather, I love the card that Edie was showing. I cracked up. Heather, you need to tell your Ex how you feel.
M, I love your red bathing suit. Enjoy your swim lessons. I am so happy with the progress your DH is making.
Keep up the great work PIP.
Lisa, I think the phone is glued to DH's hand.
Ginny, take it easy. I hope you have a pain-free recovery. Rest all you can.
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. It has been wonderful to get away and recharge. I didn't get to do the 5K today because I had to take DH to the airport, and I was just too jet-lagged. Be safe, everyone.
XO,
Mo is back in Mississippi again.

Well, I’ve decided to tell BK Monday that Wed. will be my last day.
Because …….. quitting your job and trying to find a new one is easier than having a chat with your manager????
I spoke to Vince, at first I was going to tell them Wed. that that would be my last day. He said (which is true) that other companies can call and ask if an employee is rehirable. By telling them on Wed. they could interpret that as my not rehirable. So I’ll tell them Monday. If they say “you can use today as your last day”, I intend to say “are you sure? I’m willing to stay until Wednesday” The store manager is not stupid, I’m sure she can figure out why I’m leaving
I wouldn't count on her being able to read your mind. Most people can't read minds. And the conversations we have in our minds with people are rarely the same conversations in the minds of other people. Best not to assume. Best to have a real conversation and ask questions.
What are you planning to tell her when she asks?
I've no idea what you're talking about regarding "rehirable". Do you think, maybe, you're making things more complicated than they need to be?

V short night! I've been awake since 3.30, although I tried twice to get back to sleep. Luckily, the occasional sleepless night worries me less than it used to. I finished an enjoyable book, and then ended up catching up online. I can nap anytime I choose. 😊 My brain was just a bit too active, but I'm not actually worried about anything.
I've got a handbag arriving today. I may not keep it, as I'm not sure about it, but I do need a bigger summer handbag. I have a small one that I love for short trips, but it doesn't carry everything for a full day out, as my black leather, (winter), one does. When you don't use a car, you need more 'stuff' with you, if you are out, say, in London for the day. Often we need an umbrella, or water, reading glasses, sunglasses, etc. I don't want to haul around a huge tote bag, so I'm hoping this medium sized one will work for me.
I've just ordered some very sweet chocolates for the grandchildren. I was hoping to give them something other than chocolate, as they get sooooo much , but these are individually wrapped single pieces in gold paper, with a heart on them. Easy to put into the cupboard and take one at a time, so they last. I hope. 🙄 I've ordered Guylian seashells for John. He adores them.
I smoke -bombed the upstairs bedroom this morning. The carpet moths get active this time of year. It's very easy to do, but you do have to repeat it every so often. I guess some eggs survive.
Otherwise a quiet day. We have left-over cauliflower frittata for lunch, and John is making his famous fish pie for dinner. It will be enough for two days, so I'm not cooking for a while. 😁

Machka - Both pictures are just lovely, thank you for that.
Heather - It is one of the good parts about being this age. Resting when you need or want to is such a huge luxury!
Tina - Your decision fatigue on planning trips is exactly how I feel about cooking. I'm glad your Mister is improving, even if not as quickly as he wants.
Allie - I'm so glad you don't have c-diff, but that feeling of running to the bathroom at all hours is just exhausting. Tell your transplant team, get some advice on what to do next.
Barbie - Is that you up on that tractor? You look like you're having fun! I do understand how something can be uncomfortably stressful and fun at the same time.
Mo - It's awfully good to see you back.
Yesterday for me was both stressful and fun. Those kind of financial decisions take a lot out of you—beneficial in the end, hopefully, but it's a big unknown. Life is an incredible balancing act, and a lot of times we just don't know for years if the decision was the right one.
But playing with the Bad Boy tractor (yes, Kim, I thought it was great marketing, too 😁) was like getting to do all the fun stuff the boys got to do when I was a kid. I left home at barely 17, never learned to drive until I went in the military. My brothers got to drive old pickup trucks around the hayfields, "hauling hay" by the time they were 14, which is how they made enough money to buy their own cars at 16. Girls just… didn't.
I WAS one of the first four girls to ever take vocational agriculture in school - learned how to turn a bull calf into a steer, how to build a footstool, how to weld. Very much ahead of my time in an educational setting, but it changed nothing at home.
Different time. Different world, pretty much.
In this world, though, I get to have fun, too. Love this world...
Have a peaceful Sunday! Will be a lot of things here, but doubt it will be peaceful. Sort of roary and rumbly and knock-things-down and drag them off around these parts. 😁🥰🚜
Everybody's idea of fun is different!
Love,
Lisa5 -
The bag arrived, and is pretty good! Good enough to keep anyway. Great size. It's not my dream bag, but for less than £20, I'm not complaining. At a distance, it does look like leather.
I was concerned it might be too white, but it's actually an off-white, almost cream. Much better than the picture.
I've ordered 12 white wooden eggs for the girls to paint on Tuesday. They will have just been to Art K, so they might need a break from arts, but it doesn't matter if they don't want to do it. I'm keen! 🤩 We have all of the grandchildren for Easter Monday, so they can have a go then, if they want to. I'm thinking pancakes for Easter Monday lunch, and I've got some very nice spring themed paper napkins. I also still have some paper table decorations from a few years ago, so might brighten up the table with those. Can't go too babyish though, Max is 14 in under a month! 😲😒

It has been so dry here since December.
Tonight we have had 6.2 mm of rain and it is still raining. We might get March's whole rainfall in one night!
The average rainfall for the first 4 months of the years is supposed to be about 131.5 mm. We've had 61.8 mm to earlier today. Tonight's rainfall will go a little way to improving things.

Good Sunday!
My front windows look west. It is my favorite "picture" in the morning today. The sun is bright and shining coming up behind us, while the sky to the west is stormy deep blue. Frame that with green grass and bare trees and it is just so pleasing to my eye. Just a contrast of colors and seasons rolled into one. The problem is it rarely photographs as pretty as I see it. I have made bed, taken care of CPAPs, cleaned kitties' water dish, vacuumed, cleaned litter boxes, and caught up with you!
This week has been a wild one. DH has been "men-strating" I think. OMG, he is like a stick of dynamite looking for a place to go off one minute, and happy go lucky the next. I went roundabout to get him hooked back up with Fitbit with no smart phone. His laptop is too old for "apps" and since Google bought FItbit, you have to have an app. So he is currently installed on my tablet, while I am on my phone. Work has been busy. Of course Wednesday, when I have no help up front, I had a 10k dollar credit card day with no zero turns sold. That is our highest credit card day without zero turns this year. DH has had things for us to do every night this week, so behind again on paperwork. Grateful that great niece stayed until 5:30 both Thursday and Friday. Late customer yesterday as in right at closing. Of course the one mechanic who could have assisted in the set up of that sale left at exactly 2. Same one who never has money, but turns down overtime-smh. DH and I didn't leave until 3. I will admit that after a long week, I sat and watched "When Calls the Heart". This evening I am heading to Cincinnati to see "Juliet" with oldest daughter. In the mean time, some paperwork should get done. Okay, so clipped kittens' nails, fixed breadkfast, and cut DH's hair.
Flea- Such a handsome young man. I feel really old since my grandchildren are that age. My grandsons will be seniors next year! Time travels so fast.
Ginny and Allie- Please take care! You are important to us! You need time to heal.
Lisa and Barbie- I love the tractor pictures. We have one on our farm, but that is one piece of equipment that I don't know how to use.
I have been reading along. I continue to be impressed, inspired, and encouraged by all of you Ladies! I appreciate all the different cultures, foods, and experiences.
Much love,
Kylia still kicking in Ohio

Carol - have they given you a start date for physical therapy? I'm definitely seeing some improvement with my back pain once I get up and moving for a while and get some of their stretches in. I think morning stiffness and pain is just a fact of life at this age but I'm OK with it as long as I can do outside things I want to do and the pain pretty much diminishes.
Barbie - nice tractor! Now I'm going to have to see if I can find a photo of my DH on his tractor. When we moved from the farm, DH traded in his little Ford farm tractor with the brush hog for the Kubota with a blade. He used the front end "scoop" all of the time to move firewood, dirt, all kinds of tasks.
Also, I just put a hold on "How to Solve Your Own Murder." I'm 14th in line! Finished "A Spoonful of Murder" yesterday and it was very good. Thumbs up on the ice cream!
Ginny - glad you are home and resting. How long is the low-fat diet supposed to last? Sounds like you have a good selection of delicious food to eat in the meantime. Brother & SIL interested in your house sounds pretty good. I dread the thought of eventually selling this place, worrying about realtors, buyer's comments and criticisms (tho the realtors are good buffers), dickering on price, pressure to move items and clean. Not that this wouldn't have to be done with your brother moving in, but to me, less pressure. Praying it all works out for the best for everyone, no matter what happens.
Lisa - your childhood sounds so familiar. My brother was on the tractors and doing mechanic work at a young age and even though I was interested, was relegated to "helping mom around the house and garden." I would have loved to have taken shop and learned how to do "guy stuff." Good for you! Now that I have the opportunity I don't have the strength or flexibility to do the things I want. Though I do a pretty good job with duct tape and bungee cords.
Flea - great photo of your son and his prom date! His suit is stunning - is he the son who is interested in theater? Interesting how styles change throughout the years for prom attire. Funny to look back and realize the only time in my life I wore a full length "formal gown" was to my high school prom. My wedding dress was street length.
Michele - is your ultimate goal to just retire and use your time at home and doing volunteer work or land another part-time job - I believe you mentioned Taco Bell. I don't blame you for wanting to leave BK even though they have accommodated you with time off. In my area, McDonald's has the cleanest, most efficient eatery with cheerful employees of all ages. BK was always way understaffed and grungy looking, employees tired and not very cheery. I'm aware each place is individually owned and managed to a point. But, if I needed a job, I certainly would have preferred McD's over BK for the atmosphere, leadership and work ethic which would be important to me. Good luck on your future plans!
Heather - nice purse and looks like the perfect size for you. Painting wooden eggs sounds like a lot of fun - if the teleporter was running I'd zip over and join you and the grands.
Mo - We want to see the scarf you are knitting if possible. 😁 Rose will probably stick like glue to you. Glad you had a good vacation with DH, I bet he enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine a lot. I just checked Chicago's 10 day forecast. Sounds like mine - mostly lows in the 40's, highs in the 50's and 60's. A big change from Florida. Hope you get rested up before work starts up again.
Kylia - your view sounds so beautiful. Enjoy "Juliet" and have a safe drive!
It's 29F here now but might warm up enough to mow if we get some wind to dry things off. I've already cancelled PT they scheduled for tomorrow afternoon in preparation of finishing yardwork when the thermometer is supposed to get past 70. The neighbors showed me up, lol.
Reminder for Weekly Check-in tomorrow if participating.
