For those calorie counters, have you found the calorie budget fitness pal give you pretty accurate?

I notice my calorie budget is slightly different on fitness pal and lose it by a couple hundred but generally in the same ballpark.
Curious for those of you that calorie count and adhere to the budget they give you, have you found it to be pretty accurate for your weight loss? Is it off? Do you have to make adjustments?

With that said, the way to figure out your own calorie needs is by running the experiment of logging food and exercise and weight and look at the trend over a period of 4-6 weeks. Not everyone falls into the numbers, they are just estimates based on population data.
For instance, I eat a full 300-400 calories more than any of the calculators suggest I should be eating to maintain my weight.

suggested calories by the app are just a starting point. It doesn't matter which one you use they're all just going to be a starting point. As mentioned, any calorie amount must be adhered to on a weekly basis for 4 to 6 weeks before judging if that amount is correct or not. Other factors are also involved. how accurate is your counting and tracking? Are you counting and tracking every day consistently for those 4 to 6 weeks? It's a little more complicated than just using the app to figure your perfect calorie amount.

I recommend tracking everything, watching for trends, then adjusting. The reality of it is that we are not machines and everyone is unique. Calories IN and OUT are all estimates. The key is consistency.
