Workout tips

Hi my fellow human beings I'm still new to this weight loss journey and in 2022 I was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with this problem, so I'm trying to see if anyone has any workout tips I can try that won't be too much on my back?

More specifics needed. What equipment? How much experience do you have? You talking cardio or weights?

stay away from things that load the spine, squats and deadlifts for example. Work on core strength.

With a concerning physical issue in the picture, can you get a referral for physical therapy? In my experience, those folks are very helpful not just with some remedial assessment and exercises to help that, but also are typically willing to suggest things on the formal exercise front that should be safe/helpful once the physical therapy wraps up.

Another option, if you can afford it, would be to seek out a well-credentialed, experienced personal trainer who has experience/education in rehab exercise.

It really matters exactly where the arthritis is, and how severe. (I'm saying this as someone who has osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, but has gradually become quite active. It's a bit of a process, but worth the patience and effort.)

    Best wishes!
