be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end

I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    EW RND 293 – 140.6

    SW RND 294 –

4/21 DNW – yesterday we rode the motorbike to Sheffield on the annual Easter Egg run to raise funds for the children’s hospital; our youngest DGS received treatment in there as a 6 month old before his liver transplant, so the charity is dear to our hearts. We do it together with our DS, but this year was a little different, instead of our DIL riding pillion with him, his oldest DD,(aged 6 ½) rode with him now that her legs are long enough to reach the footrests. She was so excited! Three generations took part this year! A total of 827 bikes turned out! Not heard yet how much money was raised.

4/22 140.8 (trend 140.4) No structured waking; travelled back home.

    4/23 141.8 (trend 140.4) 9.33 miles walked.

4/24 141.8 (trend 140.7) 3.6 miles walked, with little DGD (3), after a craft morning at her local library we took a picnic up to the peaks. She loves to step up & across the rocks up there. Update on the Easter egg run; it raised £68,000.

4/25 141.8 (trend 140.9) 8.89 miles walked, must stop indulging in the Easter chocolate today.

4/26 DNW - came away for a weekend to Bridgnorth. 9.07 miles walked, resisted the Easter chocolate until 2.00pm 😕 , then.... Left it all at home & only brought healthy food & 0% alcohol with us! So glad MFP behaved to allow me to post this second attempt 🤔

    4/27 DNW - 9.27 miles walked.

4/28 141.8 - (trend 141.2) 6.09 miles walked before we headed for home. Today is MIL's Celebration of Life.

4/29 141.8 - (trend 141.3) 6.71 miles walked after all the celebrations of the day, would have been so easy for both DH & I to have just sat at home, but at 6.30pm I motivated myself to make the effort & DH joined me, it was a good chance too to mull over the events of the day.

4/30 141.8 (trend 141.3) 7.72 miles walked. 1.2 pound increase this round; need to have a successful next round.

    👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE & I AM WHAT I EAT!!!!! 👍👍.

    Day/Weight/Comment

    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 195.8

    04/21-195.0 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 196.5)

    04/22 – 194.2 ✅ (Trend Weight – 196.3)

    04/23-194.2 💠 - (Trend Weight: 196.1)

    04/24-195.2 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 196.0)

    04/25-194.2 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 195.8)

    04/26-192.4 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 195.4)

    04/27-192.6 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 195.2)

    04/28-192.6 💠 - (Trend Weight: 194.9)

04/29-192.6 💠 - (Trend Weight: 194.7) I’ve had the same weight 3 days in a row. Very unusual for me. Trend weight continues to go down so I’m pleased as punch. Today is travel for afternoon medical appointments for both son & I. Restaurant food. I’ll try to stay smart and adult-like. Kid-in-a-Candy-Store be gone!

🐰 🐰 🐰 🐰 🐰 04/30-196.0 -❌ (Trend Weight: 194.8) Traveled yesterday but I really don’t feel I deserve this. Went to a steakhouse. I ate ¾ of the steak, ½ of the sweet potato and none of the pasta side (boxed up and given to son later). I shared about ½ the mini loaf of bread with unsalted butter. Water for my drink. After a couple of hours shopping, on the several hour trip home we stopped for a milkshake. Snack last night was a typical 1 oz of nuts. All water or black coffee all day. No breakfast, no lunch and only a little over half my dinner. I know I had that shake but 3 ½ lb gain overnight? And this was after the morning potty including TMI ! I’m disgusted with my body. I feel like, “what have I done to you?”, that I can have a shake, which, while out of my plan still should not make me gain almost 4 lbs! Thought I would be ending this round with my best round in awhile. I am feeling like throwing my hands up but I am pulling back and committing to making today a good day anyway. I can make it worse or I can make it better. I choose better. See you next round. I remain so proud of each and every one of you for your hard earned accomplishments.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

4/24   133.0 I ate one meal yesterday which included some of my sourdough bread. Considering all of the eating out (and no TMI) since Saturday, I’m okay with this.

It's just carb weight, not fat. Carbs reportedly need to hold water for processing. In a day or two, it will disappear. There's no real way that i know of to get around this. I limit carbs to 20 or so grams a day, most days (not for weight, but because I am a T2 diabetic, or prediabetic). But on the days that I have 50 grams or so, or have a saltier than usual dinner, I expect to see another pound or so on the scale the next day. It's frustrating, but it just is something to expect and not let it derail you.

SW RND 294 ~ 230.2 Goal this round 228.5 (less than end of March)
4/21 230.2 ~ Had Easter at my DH's Mom's, so no leftovers…a good thing. Working on a good water day today!
    4/22 230.2 ~
4/23 230.0 ~ 🚶🏽💧🚫⬇️ good on protein but over on carbs (seems always). Great exercise day yesterday. Was good on calories until after dinner. I had settled in at about 1400 calories, eating small meals through out the day… but I was still hungry, even had all of my water. I intentionally allowed all the snacks to disappear so there's nothing really bad to consume. I did find some chicken strips that put me over my count. I think I'm going to grill some chicken breast and put in the refrigerator for these times.
    4/24 229.2 ~🚶🏽🍎✅💧🚫⬇️ ok!

    4/26 230.6 ~
4/27 232.6 ~ Seriously? Great, long workout on Sat. Felt good and this is how the scale rewards me. Never mind…looked back at my tracker. We ordered pizza ….4/28 232.8 ~ No idea what this was about
4/29 230 ~💧⬇️Headed back down…..not even sure what was going on so I will just pretend it didn't happen!
4/30 230.4 ~ End of sad round. Felt good but the pizza splurge seemed to have tanked this round. On to 295!

    Hi all,

Each day my goals have been to:

    • Log my foods/exercise into Myfitnesspal
    • Document my progress each day
    • Eat healthier and reduce the intake of junk food
    • Reduce alcohol intake
    • Aim to go to the gym 4 times per week.

Over the last 10 days I've managed to log my food and drink in my diary for most days. I've been to the gym 4 times and have eaten relatively healthy. I could improve on reducing my alcohol intake... Despite only losing 0.3kg from 63.6kg (140.21lb), overall it's a good start and I'm happy I'm making small positive changes. Thanks for the motivation! 🥰

    4/30 132.2 🎢

4/21 135.6 Back to basics. For real. Fell off the “habit” train so must not have been TRUE habits after all…

I often have fluctuations, but this huge swing is serious. Behaviors have been erratic since early February -  will focus on “doing” and not “being”.

    #ENGAGED! #HSF

I’m definitely more content when “routining”. No wading … jumping in! I have approximately three months to regain my groove for my two year JGMTD anniversary and a lifetime to experience the reward … My reward? Contentment.

    Good luck to all!

4/22 133.6 #ENGAGED. Solid day back.  good 💦but still puffy. Somewhat lethargic. Better 🥩 (110g). Will 🎾🏋️‍♀️& ⏱️ today. Mindset change leads to optimism. Claiming identity #HSF. Do vs Be.

4/23 131.2 Well I guess the scale lied to me Monday and/or it’s lying to me this morning! Nothing is real until I get well established into my routine.

After almost 2+ years of daily tracking (and 11 years pretty consistently) I can state with certainty (for me) that two days of home food prep and knowing EXACTLY what enters my mouth (Whole Food / single ingredient) is THE difference. (Hydration and IF 18/6). I’m sure the scale will bounce around as I continue moving forward.

Activity: yesterday was the first day I played tennis in 10 days & unfortunately, I injured myself. I am just beside myself… My right tricep was killing me as well as my neck, back and shoulders… (maybe aggravated areas from my fall last week). Must be a combination of all the physical work at the property and using unfamiliar parts of my body… I went to bed in so much pain last night. I could barely move and then miraculously I woke up after a solid night sleep feeling fine “almost” except for my right tricep… Some things are just inexplicable.

Puffiness and brain fog starting to dissipate. I’ll lay off weights today and will go for a very long, long walk. Maybe two. DGS Chauffeur time this week!

Property update: What a roller coaster! Nothing yet from the “We are going to buy your property” neighbors… Strange. The roof is going on April 30 and we will list ASAP.

4/24 I woke up, feeling no pain yesterday but as the morning progressed the pain returned. I decided to completely take the day off. Very little movement. 🚶‍♀️6k steps getting organized, errands, completing property disclosure statements, Listing agreement, etc. chauffeured DGS and went to the grocery.  I’m better this morning, but I think I need to take another REST day from structured movement. We’ll try and get my steps in, pay attention to my posture, do some breathing work, 🙏, healthy nutrition, and plenty of 💦💦💦. 🙆‍♀️.

NSV: My body loves one ingredient, whole food, and plenty of hydration. The 4/20 spike is still a mystery… I guess it was a combination of eating unfamiliar restaurant foods over a stretch of time and lack of hydration, TMI, cortisol, sleep, etc. Our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made.

4/25 DNW this morning because I woke up once again WAY too early… Yesterday I was off track a little because I went to lunch with my tennis team. I was very good but had a handful of tater tots… Why? I don’t know they just looked so good! Very little movement yesterday and my back flared up around 7PM. It was painful sleeping. Ice works better than heat and I’m feeling better this morning. Will take it easy AGAIN today. I think all this came from the jolt of the fall almost 2 weeks ago… I have another landmine tonight with my high school friends and I’m planning on eating protein only.

4/26. I will catch up tomorrow.

4/27 the evening of 4/25 won’t be forgotten for a good long time… Never in my life have I ever smoked marijuana or a cigarette. That night I was telling my girlfriends about my aches and pains and injuries and one of them said oh you need a “Gummy”. One drink in and I said OK. The THC gummy did not take my pain away, but I sure laughed all night and then I got the munchies and continued to eat all night and all day Saturday… While the laughter was awesome the munchies were not - so here I am.  It took a long time for it to wear off yesterday. I was more than relaxed - bordered on zombie-dom. I did not like the feeling of not being me so that was a very short story! I still don’t know if I’m myself yet this morning, but I’ll try to act like I am. Pain still around.

Will walk today, 💦and take care of myself! ONWARD!

4/28 up and down up and down. I’m not even gonna try and figure it out just that I’ve eaten nonstop since Friday night… some of it is real some of it isn’t… Today is the new day and a new week. It’s no excuse Monday.. Although I cannot lift weights, I can eat right, walk, and stretch.

    ONWARD!

4/29 Must be the honest-to-God weirdest round I’ve ever experienced! probably the weirdest eight days of my life to tell you the truth!😎🎢 scale and & 🎢 behavior… And the two didn’t lineup! Yesterday, I was able to manage re-entering “the zone… “. Not easy. I will focus on “routining” the next two days for gaining momentum & control. Sleep has also been extra erratic - much for me to contemplate, adjust & adapt.

Over the next two days will be a full court press at the property. Roofers tomorrow. Photographer Thursday. MLS this Friday. We have a long but manageable punchlist.

My neck and shoulders are still quite sore but doing so, so much better. Taking it easy has been a huge challenge. Lots of heat and ice. I’ll extend my quiet time an additional 3 to 4 days once I feel healthy again… Never ever want to re-visit this!

Also, must make sure I’m getting enough magnesium, potassium, and sodium. The optimal trifecta!

(In Louisiana, the trifecta is celery, onion and bell pepper… The secret to all Cajun foods!)

    Onward!

4/30 132.2. Thank GOD this 🎢🎢🎢round is OVER!!! Pain is almost gone. Need to stay still longer. Routine returning. Good 🙆‍♀️🚶‍♀️💓💦🏆 yesterday. See y’all in #295! Let’s finish 💪🏻!

    Hello Faithful MFP Supporters 🙂

It's so good to know that no matter when I jump in and out you are still here for all these years. I'm trying again to get accountable daily. I fell of the wagon and it ran over me and backed up a few times but I'm working on things.

Getting my property back to "Before Hurricane Normal" has both consumed me and paralyzed me. By January many of us just stopped. We needed a break from the daily grind of clean up and red tape. Of course the rest of our lives didn't pause because crap keeps falling out of the trees and insects are nesting in the uncleared fallen vegetation. I'm back at it daily and trying to stay sane.

Thanks to all of you for help with my sanity. I rarely comment but I browse your stories and appreciate the camaraderie here.

    Round 294 goal:

Finish these last few days after a late start AND be ready to start the next round

Return to low carb with consistency

Weigh in and post here daily

Update and follow through on my exercise plan

    SW RND 294

    4/26 - 151.8 lbs

    4/27 - Just re-started and already missed a day.

4/28 - 153.2 lbs Skipping the commentary. My "monologue" slows me down and results in missed postings!

4/29 - 153.8 lbs I'm a hot mess... trying to clean up... end of comments

4/30 - 153.0 lbs Still a mess but cooled a bit from hot mess. Deep Breath, I can do this and I will.

    Until next round folks 🤗

Consider a Multiple Sclerosis Treatment Center affiliated with a university hospital and research. They are the best at ruling out or confirming MS. They treat only MS and suspected MS patients and use methods that may include off lable prescribing to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

With telemedicine you may not need to I travel if the distance is a problem. You will need a willing, competent, open minded local neurologist for a long distance treatment plan. However, MS research is growing and finding such a facility is easier than it was a decade ago.

Most important, gather every scrap of your medical files as far back a you can find them. Varied presentations mean seemingly insignificant little things may be clues. Once I understood, decades of slight annoyances, things no one would see a doctor for, completed the puzzle.

Diagnosis or lack of one is frustrating, time consuming and expensive. MS is still largely diagnosed by elimination despite advancements in imaging. That's why MS only neurologist are so important. Yale affiliated doctors went back to my high school transcript for SAT scores and grade school records for my early IQ. The most relevant medical files were long destroyed but neuropsychology, physical examinations, school records etc documented changes over decades. MRI lesions do not tell the full story. Few lesions with little change cannot rule out advancing illness. Spinal taps are only valuable if done during the worst of an active exacerbation.

The first neurologists I saw basically looked at me and shrugged. Inconclusive and useless and expensive so I started digging. This was decades ago when I didn't need to bypass results optimized for placement on google. You'll have to do research not google it.

Whatever the outcome for both conditions you'll be glad you took control. No matter how caring and competent your physician is you are one of so many. Maximize those few minutes using the best micro specialist you can find for your needs and arrive organized with all of the data they may need and every question you need answered. I hope you get definitive diagnosis and effective treatment in the very near future.

4/30 actually 5/1…I didn’t weight. I did log. I’ve hated my big reach in closet that only has 2 tiny doors for the last 16 years. I ripped the wall off. I now have to figure out how I will finish it and try to source sliding doors…or some sort of folding or accordion doors
