Pip - so sorry to hear about your friend's cat. Hope the trip with you cheers her up-it had to be quite a shock.
Ginny - I also went with a Medicare Supplement (Plan N) instead of an Advantage plan. A lot of providers in my area don't take Advantage plans anymore.
Rita - love that you are enjoying your new place so much. Keep on birdwatching!
Heather - John's card for Max was cute and very clever. Love the bond those 2 have formed.
Rebecca - wonderful that your son is able to fix meals that agree with him. Look at that happy smile!
Allie - great news about your kidney.
I went to Walmart this morning and picked up a package of Jennie-o Turkey Breast Tenderloins. Put them in my little crockpot on low for 3 hours - they were plenty done when I checked them. 2 1/2 hours would have probably been sufficient. Hope they aren't too dried out.
Temps were down to 35F this morning, glad I put the tomatoes in the potting shed. Several of them were looking droopy when it warmed up enough to put them back into the greenhouse. They look much better now. Not sure if I'll get any of them popped into larger pots today or not.
😀Reminder that tomorrow is the day for "weekly check-in" info for those of you participating.

Did Firm’s Total Muscle Shaping DVD then part of the 10 Minute Solution Yoga DVD then walked down to Food Lion to get hamburgers for Vince. This is the only store that I can find them in.
Today is PJ’s birthday. We’ll give him a call later. Hope we get to talk to him.
Ginny – congrats to the kids getting their house under contract so soon. It’s amazing how fast homes are going. Yet, they say there is a shortage of homes. We had one in our development that was on the market for 2 weeks. The fact that they’re asking $1,000,000 probably had something to do with it. But otherwise, homes in our development have sold really quick. The one around me sold in one day. You know, that non-English speaking gal at BK is a nice person. I did wish her “happy Mother’s Day” since I won’t be here next week. I think I was just upset at first, we all say things in the heat of the moment. You have to stop and think “is this what this person is like all the time”.
Rebecca – so happy for you that son is home. He’ll heal faster, too
So far weather.com is calling for rain the entire time we’ll be in FL. How I want to lay out in the sun! At least Sat. or Sun. Ahhh...there will be other times
Lisa – does using a rotary blade on the weedeater mean that you don’t need the spline?
Pip – I’m so sorry for Sue. What a heartbreak!
Allie – doing a happy dance for you
Worked on the pool, I got some leaves out, ran Rover (robotic cleaner), went to Lowe’s Hardware for more pool salt, put about 4 bags in it.
Tomorrow Vince wants to regrout the spillover (since it’s not supposed to rain tomorrow or the next day so it can dry. While he’s doing that I may go to WalMart then run the Pool Blaster in the spa. My fertilizer sticks came today so I may put them in tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a happy Star Wars day. We did actually get to talk to PJ for his birthday...yea

Hello, and Happy May Ladies;
Barbie, thank you for bringing us into May. I wonder if I am a nurse who cares for complex patients. This family has fired many nurses except me. We laugh and talk honestly with each other. I like to keep my patients clean. Every time I offer to change her linen, she refuses. So the mom and I clean what we can, which is the bottom half.
Meanwhile, I get a call from the nursing home that my mother is being combative and sexually inappropriate. So, I need to make an appointment for my mom to see Dr. Lauren and also make an appointment for Julia to get an oral surgeon. I also need to work on my Illinois Nursing license and budget.I go back to work on Wednesday. The saddest thing was that I had a patient who was 4 years old weighing 167 pounds. He turned five and can not walk or breathe well because of his weight. He has lost 10 pounds since he was with us.
Heather, I am so glad you saw your son and his partner. How long will you be there?
Evelyn, your reasons for ending your Y membership sound like mine. The thought of driving so far to work out does not seem appealing. Working out at home or going to Holmes Community College gym is easier, and I can pay as I go, with no contracts. I don't walk around my neighborhood for fear of my other neighbor's dog getting out. I may try to walk in the morning before it gets too hot.
Lanette, I am glad you are attending the Art Gallery and the feed store. Sometimes, it is nice to get away.
Barbie, congrats on getting the Social Security benefits going. Isn't it nice to get that off of your list?
Machka, great job on making it through your first swim class. I hope you will love it.
Pip, Bon Voyage. I hope you have a lot of fun on your trip.
Michelle, I need to check and see when I should get my colonoscopy done again. I also know I need an endoscopy, which my DH has to get done yearly.
Well, I'd better go to bed now. Take care, everyone.
XO,

I decided to make the brownies early, so John can take them over this afternoon on his walk. Tomorrow we are planning to go out for anniversary lunch and then straight on to the school for pick up, so we would have to cart the tray around with us. I think the family are going out for a bike ride, but John has a key. I will let them know.
They are just about to come out of the oven. I have to make them with gf flour, and I think I added too much Xanthem gum, but they are full of dark chocolate and butter! I only had 4 eggs instead of 5, but.... I'm sure it will taste fine. Actually, having just looked at them, I think they are not quite right. They still have another 5 minutes to go.

Michele - Not sure what you're referring to as a "spline," so I don't have an answer for you. I stay away from the string trimmer, saw blade or not. Not fond of the gas engine ones, too heavy, too noisy, and too hard to start, as far as I'm concerned. But battery ones will not do for the man I married. 😜😽😻
I might buy one for me, though, and tell him it's his present to me for our anniversary next month… hmm. We've got a ton of Ryobi batteries already for tools of all kinds, and the price for a battery string trimmer without batteries included is pretty reasonable. I think I'll stop at Home Depot after I go get my oil changed tomorrow. Thanks for the thought, Michele! 😉
Heather - It looks like a great pan of brownies from here! It is genuinely a joy to see John's relationships with the grands, as well as yours. What a gift they've given you, and what a gift you're giving them in return.
On that note, my friend is still in Hawaii, and went back to have dinner with my daughter and family last night, which does my heart good.
The picture is her with my grandson, Levi. I would bet any money this is the only time she got him to stand still long enough to take a picture!
She said in the text that he was very excited to have them there… which tells me he was in overdrive, but she raised two little boys, and one was much like Levi, in that overcharged sense of the word. I'm sure they had fun together, and I'm also sure she was completely exhausted by the time they headed back to the hotel.
I look forward to hearing about her trip - she'll be back in Montana soon, and only at an hour's time lag from me instead of 5 hours. She's brown as a berry, so I'm sure she's been able to get plenty of beach time in. I hope so. Losing her dad was hard on her, I know, and there's still more to get through when they return.
And… enough nattering, need to get things done before I get outside and get some work done this morning. Supposed to start raining by the time I get home from getting my oil changed tomorrow, so I need to get the majority of the work I want to do outside done today and tomorrow morning. It's due to rain on and off through Thursday, so it will be a mucky mess outside the rest of the week.
Hope it's a good week for all, time to get my usual Monday morning chores done while it's only 48 degrees outside! (9C). Typical spring in Arkansas, warm days, cool nights and mornings.
Love y'all,

Walked today and, inspired by Rita, took note of the birds.
I saw magpies, plovers, seagulls, a blue heron, little Swift Parrots, a Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike (I think), Tasmanian native hens (Turbo-chooks!), and at least 2 kinds of duck. If I had gone a bit further, I would have likely seen black swans.
Rita, the white ibis is quite common on mainland Australia but not so much here. They've nicknamed them "bin chickens" because they raid the bins in parks and other places.

Barbie … thank you for taking us into May!
Kay … when exactly will you take time to grieve, my friend? Praying for you and your family.
Rebecca … glad to see that your youngest son is out of the hospital.
Mo … I think you get "complex" patients for many reasons … but your statement "I like to keep my patients clean" pretty much said it all to me. I would be asking that you were assigned to my loved ones if I knew you prioritized honesty, laughter and cleanliness. No patient could ask for more!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! We don't usually do anything special for this day, but my son asked if I would bake something he could take to work today as they were setting up a snack table for the day. We tried a recipe for Churro Bars. Meh … they were ok. Best thing about them is they're out of the house this morning.
My mom … who had been doing really well, has been sliding a bit. The facility has been trying to reduce her medications … which is a good thing … but, I suspect, rocked the boat. She's been calling me in the early evening and asking "where are you?" Yesterday, I called the nursing station and she tried to help my mom with the conversation, but was not successful. Then the nurse spoke with me privately to tell me that she believed my mom was experiencing sundowners again. She said she could see it in my mom's eyes. Dementia is so sad. Didn't sleep well thinking about her looking for me … but also know that she'll have no recollection of it this morning. Sigh.
April/May goals: I gained weight in April … now I need to really focus on better food choices and movement. May goal is to be 5 pounds lighter … getting specific this month to push myself a little.
Busy week … waiting on the shipment, and subsequent install, of the sink top for the bathroom. Hunting down some extra tile in the event the shower door install damages bullnose tile … seems the tile is out of stock locally. Visiting my mom this week. Lunch with a friend. Hoping the weather dries up so we can get the yard cleaned up and mowed. Grass is getting way too long! A Mother's Day celebration on Saturday at her facility.

Pip, enjoy your cruise, and take us vicariously with you via photos now and then!🤗😁💖
Today is a doctors appt to put thru request for bloodwork at the lab, questions regarding some things.
- does my recent new med tax my one kidney?
- What is going on with sore spot in my left eye. Near my surgery part, where I had a pterygium.
You had offered weight loss options. I would like less of me, always have, but not for vanity reasons, just tired of lugging this extra weight sometimes. I hear husband flitting around sometimes, and I wish to be as well. My mantra, "I am willowy and flow thru this world with grace", would like it to be true one day.
So hopefully all will be well.

Went to the Dollar General here last night and found it is only 1 mile from the campground. I may walk to there today (or not) because it rained last night and the lake walk will be muddy. There is also a small grocers across the street, mostly Mexican products, that I want to check out better. I noticed a bakery in that short drive that I want to check out. There is a cafe here at the park but really small and no posted hours. Not sure if we will get to check that out or not. It is most likely Mexican food or burger and fries. We are not too keen on Mexican food. I am almost done knitting my blanket and will post a pic once done. It looks like I’ll finish it sometime this week depending on my hands and elbow.
Thought for today:
How long does it take to churn butter?

Allie - good news with your kidney
Beth - sorry to hear about Mom, hope they can find a balance in her meds that keep things as comfortable as possible.
mo - from all we have learned about you and your outlook every family would want you to nurse their family - and the complex ones are the ones that especially want/need someone with your skills. How would any one let their 5 year old get to 167 lbs.? I had to read that a couple of times to get it to sink in…
Lisa - so fun to see your bestie with your grands ! what a perfect distraction at this time for her.
Pip - so sad to hear about Kitty, but it looks like you and your friend will have a great trip!
Rita and Machka Fun to have you share the birds you are seeing. Rita you seem to be enjoying the new place any chance you could just stay? Machka I enjoyed the Aussie story. So many things that are different between there and California.
Rebbeca - delighted you youngest is doing better.

next time, you can substitute 1/3 cup of applesauce for one egg.
When I made mini cupcakes for the church potluck- I used two boxes of cake mix which called for 3 eggs in each one, I used 3 eggs and 1 cup of apple sauce. They came out super moist.
You can also substitute 1/3 cup of apple sauce for the oil4 -
After work went to WalMart to get Vince milk and a few other things. Also, put in these fertilizer sticks (because I know me, and if I had loose fertilizer, I’d overfertilize...BTDT) so I had to water the plants. Found out one of them didn’t make it. Hope the others do.
Terri – what a bummer you’re losing your instructor. It’s so hard to find one you really like and that actually teaches you
Lisa – spline is this

We buy it in large spools and then just refill the ones. I don’t like the battery operated one, too. Too much area to do and it would probably run out of battery life before the job would be finished. You’re right, the gas powered ones are HEAVY. We have the electric Hey, I have to get my oil changed tomorrow, also. Sounds like you and Cory get each other romantic presents like Vince and I get. One year for Mother’s Day I got a load of mulch (well, it’s what I wanted), another year I got to get the trees trimmed. One year for our anniversary we got central air in our second home, another year we got a microwave. Romantic, ehhhh?
Mo – I would say that you get the “complex” patients because of your big heart
pip – have a great cruise!
Beth – so sorry to hear about your mom. Yes, dementia is heartbreaking. But the good thing is that they usually don’t remember the sad things
Well, better get outside and use the Pool Blaster.

good morning(yes, still morning here- 11AM) and it is already 77, going up to 84 here in N.Calif.
Just came in from opening and watering the greenhouse. It was already 90 inside when I went out.
Very warm and super windy.Son's girlfriend is over at the other house this morning(taking her orientation for a part time/fill in job at Kaiser Permanenta-(Medical co). She currently works in the optical dept at Walmart and will keep that as it is now part time and also do the one at Kaiser- a great way to get her foot in the door. She stayed with Walmart this long because they paid for all of her training.
Beings she is over there, I don't have to go take care of the dog. She will do it before she leaves to go to work.We need to go to Walmart-talked him out of going yesterday-didn't want to go on a Sunday afternoon and especially the first of the month. It is crazy on weekends but that would just be worse.
He also wants to go to Black Friday.Hope to work in the yard if it isn't too hot.
Have zumba tonight.Debbie

MFP Weekly Check-In for May 5, 2025
Debbie in Napa Valley CA - remembered to not only weigh this morning but also to report it. 152.4 this morning. Need to get back on track but at least it is going down(a tiny bit) from two weeks ago. Down .4 Have a wonderful week. Plan on planting my first tomato plants today or tomorrow. Going to Lowes to pick up my second order of potting soil.
Rita in Dexter/Roswell NM - Down .4 of a pound this week. Doing more walking is helping. Still not eating as well as I should be. Still too much Easter candy around here.
Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast - Average WT headed in the right direction (132.8 vs last month's 133.6) suspect step averages and af days improving but too pressed for time to tabulate. New potty sit-to-stands habit for 5 whole days, hope it becomes solid/automatic and easier.... SOON! Wind was so brutal Saturday I wimped out from dog group after the pack walk, hope it's calmer where you are.
Lanette SW WA State – weight still hovering around 165 which is at the top of my range. Step average 7534, down from last week. Total activity minutes 340. Still doing PT exercises, walking with weights. More active outside these days with mowing, weed eating, prepping for tomatoes.

Hey kids,
It's ALL boring home stuff, so no point in putting it in a spoiler.
Taking a bit of a break while the sprinkler works over Corey's new grass - he brought in a half pallet of sod this weekend that they had overbought for a customer and been left to dry out. So it was free for us. Second one of these he's done, and the other worked a charm. Takes a bit of coaxing, but with a bit of watering, and even more important, some rain, it will be growing like gangbusters again soon.
Don't know if you remember, but when we had that tree cut down that was threatening the house, it also opened up the entire side of the house to sunshine for the first time in probably decades. The grass and everything else there had long since died, just too shaded. That's where the sod was placed. Now it will get the sunshine it needs and get it without any competitors.
I gave up on objecting to a huge lawn. He largely takes care of it, though I do mow on occasion, so I quit talking about things that don't bring a benefit to their surroundings and just enjoy the beauty of it. It brings some benefit to him, and that's enough.
Put two loads of laundry out on the line early, then went and got the old firepit at the little house largely scraped up. Got the burnt mess deposited in the dumpster and most of the stones brought up for the rockpile at the big house, four tractor buckets full. Oh, and I yanked the old mailbox for the little house out by the roots. With the tractor. Fun!
The demolition guys finally have the roof largely opened up on the little house, after peeling off 5 layers of shingles plus a full layer of sheathing board over a solid roof of old 2"x4" 12-foot long boards, laid side by side with no gaps.
The boss said they haven't built roofs like that since the 1940s. That means the big house may have been built back in the 30s. The little one was definitely built later than the one we're residing in—but we think this house had at least one addition put on, and possibly more.
Anyway, laundry is in and folded and put away, still need to put the sheets back on the bed, roses have been watered, grass will be done being watered in a minute. While it and the roses were getting watered, I got a cold pasta salad made for dinner, to go with crunchy oven chicken. The combination is a spring and summer favorite for us both, very satisfying and easy.
Got a few more minutes before I have to get in the shower, I think I'll walk down and take some progress pics. Then I'll bring the garbage can back up and turn the sprinkler off on the way back.
Busy day.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR

well, I got the one raised bed dug up(have to climb up into it to dig it right-it is 4ft deep I think(8'x4'), got all the Bermuda grass that I could see pulled/dug, 5 bags of potting soil mixed in after hauling it to the back yard, one at a time. Have the water going on it now. The only thing I didn't do was plant my tomatoes(not all of them will fit in that one bed. The rest will go in large pots. I think I will plant 6, maybe 8 in that one bed. If I plant 8, I will have to really keep up on caging them. If they get out of hand, I have trouble walking by them. Most of my garden is up on top of the retaining wall so there is only about a foot of dirt to walk on. I don't want to fall off the wall getting past the plants- it isn't a huge drop but 4' more than I want to fall.
Came inside because it is too hot to work out there. It is 84!!! Thankfully part of the bed is in the shade while I was working on digging and there is a nice breeze. I didn't mind getting a bit wet when I was putting the drip line/sprayers in it. Dried off quickly.
Transplanted a catnip plant from the other raised bed that the cucumbers will go in but they need to be in the greenhouse atleast a few more weeks I think.
Tomorrow I will get the tomatoes and peppers that are ready planted.Didn't walk the dog but made up for it with the gardening.
Class in a few hours. Glad I have two of my fans there as they only have one for the whole place which is not enough.

New teacher does “Classic Fit” not Better Bones and Balance. Today’s emphasis was on biceps and triceps, exercises similar to the Strong Women Stay Young routine with 3 sets of 8 reps each. Will see if Wednesday deals more with quads and glutes. Teacher is expectably perky. We’re all sad. . .
Kay that spiritual growth retreat sounds like just the ticket. Pollen here has been overwhelming, cars, hot tub, everything caked in yellow dust.
Margaret brava for using the (sweet) potato trick to extract the broken bulb. Yours to Machka especially about rip tides.
Lisa ((hugs)) for the rough night/Activia reaction. Urk indeed about the sssnakesss. Would love a pic of your pink perennials.
Rita “skeet shooting beer cans” near the picnic area? SMH. Love https://www.youtube.com/@abalancedyou ‘s “the important thing is that we got up.” Amen, sister, amen! The temporary park sounds great, is there any way you could be hosts there?
Tracey ”… agreed we should give (Grammie) a call soon...” ((gentle hugs held extra extra long))
Lanette what you and others have said about assisted living costs and motivation to keep moving and eating healthily. Yikes! Oh boy am I with you on the “you already blew it… buttered toast with honey” pattern. [sigh]Debbie enjoy your yucky tomatoes ;) I do have nine beit alpha type cucumber plants that have survived so far . . . When and how did your mom total her truck? Must have missed that.
Machka, swimming in the open ocean is WAY different from swimming in a pool, take care! Lovely little beach. That pub’s ale sounds yummy. Really enjoyed the Australia article.
Heather the very happiest of meeting anniversaries to you and Johnny. Oh that Edie!
Pip so sorry about Sue’s cat. ((hugs)) Great pics, thanks for taking us along on your cruise.
Carla ((hugs))
Allie Love the cute pics, thanks! Is there a community pro-bono law group nearby? Your brother needs representation in the divorce. Great news about your kidney!
Rebecca sounds like it will be a great sister visit. Wonderful news about your youngest, hope his recovery continues and hurries ;) Good luck at the doc’s.
Michele safe travels and enjoy the quick FL trip. Hope the forecast is wrong and you get some sun.
Ginny, changing linens, laundry, dishes, checkbook, insurance research, that was a lot to accomplish! Good plan to get health baseline established before your move.
Wow your kids’ home must have been beautiful to sell in so few hours.
Carol I’m also too lazy to be a successful gardener, Always fun to start but then fail to keep up with the watering and weeding. [sigh]
Mo and Beth (hugs held extra long) for your moms’ situations.
Terri could you lead the Latin group?
Kim always glad to see you pop in. How are you doing with the charge more appropriately to let you work fewer hours plan?
April details:
Move more: Average steps 300+ more than March..
Fuel better: More AF days (57%) than March (42%) but way way way too many chocolates.Later, lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMODMay focus: Just one thing from the OMG room
2025: Chose NOW: to move more than yesterday (5 sit to stands every potty break no excuses), fuel better than yesterday (hold that after dinner sweet down to two pieces of dark chocolate max), open heart and mind before mouth4 -
I am still alive!
Thank you Barbie!
April was rough but made it through. More later.
Weight finally steady at 140.2!!! I am higher than I was when I started MFP in July of 2010. Not happy, but still nicotine free. I know what to do. Just need time and energy to do it! For now I have fresh veggies cut and portioned in fridge. There are fresh berries and grapes portioned in fridge. I have cheese cubed and portioned in fridge. All this for snacking. Good food choices help prevent not do healthy choices.
Time for sleep! Much love and hugs for all!

mom had a little accident about a month ago. She was distracted, somehow she missed the driveway to Tractor Supply and was looking for it(she had passed it a few blocks earlier) and when she was looking around, got too close and side swiped another car. Because of the age of her truck, AAA totaled it. My cousin is a mechanic so I guess there was more damage than mom thought so he didn't try to fix it for her. It was a Toyota Tundra. She doesn't need that size truck anymore- they used to need it when they did farmer's market and actually loaded two trucks worth of produce to sell. She gave up her sellers permit so she can't even sell to the restaurants like she had been doing before Covid. She can trade with them which she will with one for sure and possible a second one. They get fresh veggies and she gets to treat herself to nice meals out without money coming out of her pocket. One place is the one that catered my dad's 80th birthday party along with the celebration of life for him- at no cost to mom.
The other is one of my mom's former daycare kids who has a fancy restaurant in town- too $$ for mom to go there but will be nice to trade.planting in pots reduces almost all weeding! The only thing is to remember to water.
I had a lot of weeds in my raised beds but that is because I haven't worked them since fall. There should only be a few from now until this coming fall. I need to try and work them in the winter so it isn't so hard in the spring. If I could just get the Bermuda grass out.6 -
Hi Gals,
Just a few minutes of typing I am about done in…. I was up early and getting things done when about 11 am I got a call from my nephew, he was having a hard time putting a sentence together he was so upset. Turns out my brother (his dad) had a stroke and was in the ambulance headed to the hospital. Dropped everything, was out the door in 15 minutes. He and his girlfriend were out their door about the same time, I had a 45 minute drive (no traffic) he had 2 hours. He went to the hospital I went to my mom’s she is 96 a bit deaf, slow processing, and has a bit of dementia. My nephew’s mom (my brother’s ex) is still friends with my brother and she took the lead with the medical folks – I really appreciate that. My brother has been having breathing problems, pain in chest and arm for 2 weeks (this was the first I had heard of it) Turns out after ekg, mri, and any other test with initials that he has had a “bunch” of strokes some old but many in the last few weeks. He knew he had high blood pressure and has a history of clots, but believes some off the wall stuff- including that all doctors are stupid…. And out to only get money and kill patients slowly for more money…. Trust me most of what he believes is not appropriate for a public venue. The long and short of it is that he is extremely lucky he’s only impact is speech He can barely get a word or two out at a time and they are very garbled. They are keeping him until at least Wednesday and then we’ll see. Hopefully this will scare him into considering some dietary choices other than beer, bread and BBQ. And hopefully this will make him a better person (I’m dreaming) but pre-stroke he would regularly taunt and say appalling things to folks with disabilities – even including his own mom – maybe he will see that you don’t choose to be disabled.
Thinking of you all,
Kim in N. California

Kim - What a difficult time for you all. You must have such mixed emotions, and that's OK. It's complicated. My very best wishes are winging their way over to you. It's good that you have your therapist to talk to. Much love.
I'm just waiting for it to be time to make a cup of tea to start our meeting anniversary day. How unbelievably lucky we are to have found each other in our fifties. It was the early days of online dating, and we arranged to meet in an historic pub in Covent Garden. These are publicity photos of the pub, not mine.
After a short chat over a beer, we decided to risk a dinner at the next door pasta place. (You can see it in the first picture, as a Vietnamese restaurant now.) The rest is history. 😀
I think we are going out for lunch to The Regency, (fish), and then up to the school for Bea pick up. There is champagne in the fridge, (a several years old present from his daughters), and we have delicious snack/nibbles for dinner, when my son brings us back. Duck rillettes, faux caviar and crême fraiche blinis, and Jamon Iberico.
At the moment, we are very much enjoying the rerun of Scott and Bailey, which was made in 2014 +. Two women detectives. The writing is outstanding - Sally Wainwright. Dialogue sparkling. Acting superb. I record them, so we can watch them when we want, and fast forward through the advertisements. There is some violence, but mainly it is off camera, and not gratuitous. It always gives me pleasure to see great writing. 🤩

HI,
I swear this is a bad week already. I called to check in on DH, who told me he had been fired. Last week, in his evaluation, he went from meeting expectations to partially meeting expectations. I was mad because his boss didn't tell DH that he wanted a verbal and written report. DH always submitted a written report. So, DH made sure he did both, but Eric(his boss) decided to let him go. So, DH asked if he did anything else, and he said no. I truly believe the guy they interviewed while we were on vacation was overqualified for the position he was interviewing for, and he is taking DH's position. We will see. I did consult an attorney, but DH told me that all he wanted to do was get a new job. He also wants me to move sooner😕. I am not ready yet. I did make an appointment for my mom to do a video check-up with Dr. Lauren.
I called my aunt, who requested that I call her. It was for a legal matter regarding family property in Tennessee. She wants DH to handle it. We all signed to sell some land, and my other aunt kept all of the proceeds instead of splitting it amongst all of us. So, my aunt, who, along with me by proxy, is an executor. Dawn said that my grandfather had told her she could have everything. I said that it didn't say that in the Will. I just found out that my other uncle died a year ago. No one told me. I never met him anyway, and his kids hate him. He was an abusive drunk. I will check on my mom tomorrow and get my favorite sunglasses I left. I will also ensure they know we will video call her doctor on Monday. Before I learned the above bad news, I had a terrible headache and stayed in bed most of the day. My friend called me and chatted about how depressed she was about losing her sister and cousin in the same month. She told me she ate well but decided to have a brownie fudge sundae. I told her not to beat herself up. I didn't want to eat, but I did. I mixed a Nathan's hot dog in Rose's food. I need to go to Kroger tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Allie, I hope your brother can get out of that mentally abusive relationship with Jean.
Debbie, I use 10 ounces of Diet Coke and add it to the box cake mix for fewer calories. It came out pretty moist, but I may add applesauce.
Lisa, is that the Bestie whose mom just passed away? If so, this looks like a much-needed trip for her. I told my aunt you have a cat(Egg) that resembles (her beloved cat).
Barbara, thanks for the hug.
Kylia, you are doing great. Don't beat yourself up. You look great. Take things one day at a time.
Hopefully, 5/6/2025 will be better.
XO,
Mo in Mississippi
