Happy Employee Health and Fitness Month around the world and National Salad Month and National Salsa Month, at least in the Estados Unidos.

@enlightenme3 is still traveling, so I'm posting this month's challenge again.

πŸ˜€ Welcome all new first timers to this challenge and "Hello again" to those returning for another month, another year, another round. πŸ˜€

I joined MFP in February 2018. I had been trying on and off to lose some extra weight. MFP gave me the tools I needed to lose 30 pounds, and I have tried to keep it off since then. I've mostly been successful, but there for sure have been times when I slid back. Only continued vigilance will work to be successful, and fortunately that's possible! It can be nice to have short- and medium-term goal to break down a larger goal into more manageable chunks. So a monthly challenge with a weekly check-in is GREAT. I've been contributing to this challenge for several years, and with @enlightenme3 temporarily away, I'll try to keep it running.

Pick your own goal, check in once per week, and at the very end of the month. Let's keep encouraging each other & staying focused on our individual goals.

You can change the dates to suit you, but try to keep it weekly as it shows off the weekly progress betterπŸ˜€. I'm setting this month up for Saturday check-in. Do what works best for YOU.

Pick whatever unit suits you -- pounds, kilograms, stones, or even Newtons.

Feel free to copy & paste the chart:

May Start Weight:
May Goal Weight:
Ultimate Goal Weight:

April 26:
May 3:
May 10:
May 17:
May 24:
May 31:

For those unsure how to do your weekly weight input:
When you want to do your weekly update do a search for your original post, copy and paste as a new post in the add post box then you can edit in your new weekly weight. A lot of people also maintain their post in a notes application on their device and just cut and paste into a new post.

It’s not a race go at your on pace, imagine where you could be in 6 months time!πŸ˜€

Best of luck to everyone - have fun! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Remember to bookmark⭐️ this group- makes it easier to find πŸ˜€

Jumping in a week late here. Re-downloaded MFP for the first time in years. Sustained a 55lb weight loss for 7 years (2018-2024) but gained 93% back this year after a change in medications (weight gain side effect) and a drastic reduction in my activity level (waitressing to desk life). Broke my Fitbit and quit smoking this last year which contributed to my weight gain, too.

Motivated, feeling on top of my health goals again with the end of my schooling and being diagnosed with sleep apnea this past month. World of difference having a CPAP machine, so much more energy and initiative in mornings and through the day. Coincidentally, one of my symptoms for apnea that led to this diagnosis was this year I started "night eating." I'd wake up from an apnea event scared from the lack of oxygen, with nightmares occasionally, then go to the kitchen sleepily to get comfort food, eating to stop myself from falling back asleep.

My health means everything to me and I know a healthy weight is best. I have asthma in addition to the apnea. I've noticed I've had a harder time hiking and walking and finally am confronting this weight gain, determined to manage my health and well-being. Not one to get down on myself, especially in light of sharing my weight gain story. Positivity makes a world of difference and attitude is everything.

Intermittent Fasting was apart of my past success and fits my schedule well. Returning to it and per my doctor, I try to limit red meat to 3-5 servings a week. That's to control another health issue lol. Need to tackle processed carbs convenience. Hoping in my first month the water weight will drop and aiming for a 1-1.5lb/week loss after this first month. If I don't do 2lbs/week this month, that's okay too.

Thanks for reading my ramble and for having a challenge for accountability :)

Thanks for the monthly challenge! It's a pleasure to be back again. My primary goal this month is to get consistent with logging food again and remember my self control with food/resist stress eating. The gain between 28/04 and 05/05 I totally expected since I significantly went over my Calorie limit every single day in the last week, even with daily exercise.

Heaviest weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
Original MFP starting weight (January 2018): 168.2
    December 31, 2024 Weight: 158.0 (10-day average 157.2)
April 26 (Starting Weight for this challenge): 159.4 (10-day average 155.8)
May goal: Get below the top of maintenance weight range (153 pounds)
Ultimate goal: Stay in maintenance range between (absolutely 140 - 153 and ideally 142-148)

I report scale weight and (ten day average weight), and I post on Saturdays.

    April 26: 159.4 (10-day average 155.8)
May 3: No scale; rafting the Owyhee River
    May 10: 154.0 (10-day average 156.4 or 154.3* or 153.9)
    May 17:
    May 24:
    May 31:

Total loss for May: Scale weight is for sure down, and the ten-day average isn't really valid because it's actually looking all the way back to 25 April because I was away from the scale for a week. That will catch up. By two other averaging methods, I'm down a little more than a pound for the month or two pounds. I'll get back on the right averaging method by next week, but I'll have another challenge when I have another river adventure in the near future. I'm down 0.8 pounds for the year.

    Keep sticking to it.

05/04-194.0 βœ… - (Trend Weight: 194.8) I’m still working down that shocking 3 Β½ lb gain I had overnight on April 30th. 1.4 lbs to go to break even. It’s crazy how fast it can come on and how slow it goes off. It’s certainly a common topic on this challenge and oh, so true! My birthday is next Saturday May 10th. I'm not sure what is planned, we usually roll Mother's Day and birthday all into one. I need to make some progress between now and then! Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

🌺🌺🌺🌺05/11 -- 194.6 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 195.0) I’m up 0.6 due to my birthday celebrations yesterday but I’m not going to sweat it. Today should be a good day since we primarily wrapped up Mother’s Day foods with my birthday. The weather here in the northern part of the Midwest USA is really beginning to improve. Brightens my spirits! Have a great round everyone! I’m over here in the corner cheering you all on. Take the stage! We’ve still got plenty of time in the month of May to get closer to our goals!
