Hi everyone. I’m trying to lose 10 lbs and have mild cholesterol so I have been eating better. The thing is, I don’t feel full ever and want to snack ( which I don’t eat cookies, candy, fried food or processed foods) I’m logging food on a 2000 calorie diet. I stick to low fat milk, fish, chicken and sugar free foods. What else can I eat and not be hungry all the time?

Satiety really values from one person to the next.

For some people timing matters: they feel less hungry eating fewer but larger meals, or it could be the oppositie, less hungry eating more frequent smaller meals. Or time of day could matter - eating more in the morning or more later in the day.

For some people macros matter: some people feel less hungry eating a low(er) carb diet or eating more fat, or increasing protein intake.

Another factor is fiber: many people find fiber filling, eating high fiber vegetables and/or whole grain products (as opposed to more refined flour).

And then there are people who are 'volume eaters', those who enjoy eating a high volume of food but lower calorie choices like salad greens, vegetables…

Experiment and see what works for you?

I try to get 30 to 50 g of protein each meal and when I have a snack I want it to have protein in it as well. This helps me to not get hungry often. Possibly try that and maybe you'll see improvement in wanting to snack. But be remember that when you eat a high protein diet, you need to make sure that you have more fiber and drink plenty of water so that you don't get constipated. I hope this helps you as much as it helped me!

I had to change my diet due to prediabetis and cholesterol. I no longer eat processed. I meal prep some stuff for week so I can grab & go. I discovered I love chick peas (Bushes the Best). I make a chickpea egg salad that is my go-to & put in single serve Pyrex. I top with couple hard boiled eggs just before eating. 2 cans chick peas drain and rinse, 2tbsp cilantro or parsley, 2 tbsp red onion, 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, salt pepper to taste.
I also eat hummus with vegetables & 1 serving of triscuit thins. Add nuts (portion them out according to calories you need) I was hungry all the time when I started and my stomach did not feel good. I do not portion baked or grilled chicken with skin removed. If I am hungry I grab another piece chicken (mustard or sugarfree bbq sauce). I eat full fat cottage cheese. Make tuna salad with cottage cheese instead of mayo, add dill pickle and Dijon. (Delicious) I eat quinoa now too
