I have tried different websites in the past to keep track of what I eat but always gave up the next day when I could never plug in what I was eating because they didn't have it listed. I love that with fitnesspal on my smartphone I can just scan the back of my organic oatmeal and have all the correct numbers come up. So much less time consuming than having to plug in the numbers myself.
I have been unwell the past 6 months which has either been due to epstein barr virus or the fifths disease virus. I have been feeling very sluggish and had stopped really focusing on what I eat and gained 15 pounds. Which of course made the slugglish and off feeling worse. Once I started fitness pal I was really able to make better choices. Seeing how much sugar I was really taking in the first day was a slap in the face and thought no wonder i keep gaining.
After a week I feel much better ..eating a much cleaner diet and skipping all the extra snacks I had been sneaking in. I have been able to start walking more as my energy is starting to come back. I lost 3 pounds so far...and I think I will reach my goal weight in record time with the help of fitness pal.

Welcome! I'm so glad you are starting to feel better! MFP has been awesome for me and is such a great site for keeping track of your food choices and learning great ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Good luck with your weight loss!

So glad to hear you are in love lol.

The phone app is the best thing I think. I doubt that I would have been able to stick with it without the app.

Congrats on your loss, and best of luck to you! You can reach your goal!

Awesome beginning to a new love affair:)

I've been here about 2 months..............love this place! So encouraging, and so EASY to see your patterns and how to change them.

    Much success to you!
  • I've been hooked since July. This is the best weight loss tool I have ever been given and I owe the woman who recommended it to me my LIFE, literally. I'm 30 pounds down since June and I know I would not be where I am if it were not for MFP. I was told I have to lose 30-40 lbs. by December to qualify for weight loss surgery so my first mini-goal has been met and it feels AMAZING! Keep logging in EVERY DAY. Be accountable only to yourself. Good luck and I hope you feel better!

Oh, also I plan on getting an iphone just so I can get the MFP app!

I agree with CRB. Because the phone app is so easy to use and always close at hand, I almost look forward to using it. Not so much when I see how bad some of the things are that I want to eat, but it keeps me from actually eating them after I see it :)

I have been here for a month and still can't believ it is free! I am just amazed at the applications and how much I have learned. I have lost 5 pounds and could not be happier. I owe it all to MFP. Forty to go but I know with this site, I can do it.
