Would love a buddy for motivation!

Hi:)
I have been a member MFP on and off since 2015, I used to find the logging too much so I always stopped, i have been logging in consistently since january 20th:)
Being outside is my calm. I try and workout everyday (except sundays) I only do about 15 to 20 minutes workout or stretch, plus a 15 to 20 minute walk. I keep reminding myself that something is better then nothing:) For the last half of 2024 my lower back was in so much pain i could barely get up off the couch. At 39 this should not be a thing, it was time to do this for the last time! The Fiton app has been my lifesaver, if you don't have it get it!! It's free, I've paid for pro before but you don't get much more.
I started this all over again for probably the 10th time (at least) on January 19th. I started at 234 lbs, this is the heaviest I have ever gotten, I lost my brother and stopped caring about absolutely everything, especially my weight and all the food I ate. I set my first big goal at 195lb, I just want to be under 200 again! I am also excited whenever I lose 10 lbs, my husband calls it losing a sack of potatoes lol. I'm very close to 3 sacks, can you imagine carrying 3 bags of potatoes, HEAVY!!
If anyone needs a buddy to stay motivated I am in need of one as well:)

Hi Stef. I'm in. I'm just getting back on the wagon after a 4 year hiatus. I went from 245 to 180 between about 2019 and 2021. Then slowly regained back to 220. I've had 2 total knee replacements, lung issues due to severe allergies, and an autoimmune diagnosis (blood clotting disorder) in the past 4 years. Now that I'm on top of my medical issues and my lungs are healthy again and my 2nd knee is healing (surgery was 4/14), I'm ready to get control of my fitness. I have always been a walker/jogger/hiker even with lots of issues, but the last year has been very limited. I'm 66 now and a teacher, although I'm on leave due to the knee and blood clots.
You have a very good attitude toward your exercise needs. Being outside is also my calm—without it, I'm just not right. I lived in Wisconsin for many years and even in dangerous cold, I had to get out for a bit. "There's no such thing as bad weather; just inappropriate clothing." Haha; well, sort of. -45 is a bit much! :)
Anyway, I find logging burdensome, too, but am always looking for better ways and need to explore the options here more. I tend toward certain familiar foods, usually—not rigidly limited, but not a wild array, either. And yet the site doesn't seem to recognize when I'm typing in the same things, like the breakfast I frequently have. It would make it so much easier! I guess I should be suggesting that!
So, what I can I do to help you out?

Here for you as well. I got back on the wagon after back to back pregnancies. Last time I was on here I think was 2020/2021. Last child was born a year ago and ready to get myself back in shape. I started back in 2015 and went from 230lbs to 165 in 2 years.

Your story sounds very familiar. I start then loose a little then quit and then start again. Logging food is a pain and I always have good intentions. Lol! I’m knocking on the door of 57. I found out three years ago I was undiagnosed diabetic and dropped 35 pounds by changing my diet. I have gained somewhere around half of that back.
I am teacher so trying to get out and moving more now that summer break is here.Add me as a friend if you’re interested.
