Hello! I am new here, weeeell kind of. Been on the app for a while, but 3 babies happened and was just trying to survive as a teacher a mom of 3 boys. This past year was rough at work and I found myself regressing any progress I had made in 2023. Injuries and life just made it tough to get much movement in. I am fresh out of a knee and thumb injury, but thank God I am feeling better and ready to get started. I have 4 more days of work until we are off for summer and we are going to make health a priority for all of us, husband, me, and kids. I have found that having a village with similar goals supporting each other has helped keep me motivated. So here I am hoping I can join this community to help cheer all of you on as well. Happy Monday 🥰

My A1c is my 2nd one in diabetic range so I guess I am diabetic. 😔 Did it to myself.
Not ready yet to go on meds so I am giving myself 3 months to try and get my weight and blood sugar down. If its still high in Sept then I will go on a med. I dont want kidney or liver damage.
Kind of pissed at myself so if you are prediabetic out there you may want to start working on it before you reach the "diabetic mark".
Now following a low carb low sugar diet. Will see how that goes. I still have a wheezy cough but feel better from the plague I had.
@virycent welcome! 3 boys likely keep u busy! Thats wonderful.

Wow this month is flying by so fast! My time off did not go as expected but that is okay. We ended up selling my MIL's home (she passed 3 years ago), the house had been on the market for some time. So, we spent the long weekend helping my SIL move. I have some pretty sore muscles and got lots of steps in.
One thing that I realized is that while the number on the scale isn't what I want it to be (or what I think it should be), my body is becoming more able. I was able to help move boxes and furniture and I had stamina that I did not have before. I was able to climb up into and around in my attic to find a leak - I wasn't able to fix the leak, but I found it and took actions to minimize damages. I am more able to do things that I want to do, and I look forward to becoming stronger and more able.
I hope you are having a great day, remember that you are worth the effort. Finish May strong!

May Wrap-Up:
1. Eating healthy/unhealthy about 75/25✅
2. Lost about 5lbs ✅
3. Got an MRI on both my knees and the doctor didn't see any further damage from my old meniscus tear✅ but did see some damage from arthritis and wearing down of tissues due to weight ❌ and gave me cortisone shots in both knees to help with the pain and gave me tips to strengthen the muscles around my knee (swimming and stationary biking) ✅
4. And, because my life is ridiculous, in between seeing the knee doctor at the beginning of the month, waiting for MRIs to get approved, getting the MRIs and then seeing the doctor yesterday, I started getting severe NEW pain in the back outside part of both my knees, but mainly the knee I originally injured ❌ so went into his office SO freaked out about this new sudden, horrible pain. Turns out I injured BOTH of my hamstrings ❌(I was gardening/landscaping for about 4 days and that's the only thing I can think of that could have caused this). So that injury coupled with the original pain in the front of my knees means that the doctor recommended physical therapy for six weeks. Such a dumb situation, I find myself in. 🤣🤣🤣
✅Overall, May was not too shabby. I'm really happy I finally got my old knee issues sorted (even if I did find some more along the way!)
✅June is going to be crazy starting a new job and trying to fit in all this PT. But I'm looking forward to walking without limping (hopefully) very soon!!!

@RavenStCloud I am so glad you are getting answers! I have been experiencing the same type of pain (starting in front, then in back of knees). I only got an x-ray though and they said nothing looks wrong and it will go away 😢. Went to chiropractor on my own and he helped. Muscle tightness caused the back of knee pain since I was limping/walking weird. I am going to a massage today and going to ask them to focus on my knee/ leg muscles. You reminded me that stationary bike is helpful for strengthening knees thank you. I currently have no pain (except tightness on calves at end of day) so I need to do more stretching and try walking backwards on treadmill too.
