I (39 F) downloaded this app on 5/16/25 as a recommendation from my PCP. I went to my yearly and told her my concerns about my weight. Mind you, I have had 2 back surgeries. Due to BRCA gene, I have had my tubes and ovaries removed. I also have had steroid injections and am in menopause. I most recently had to have breast cancer surgery. My PCP informed me I needed to watch my calories and increase my cardiovascular, even if it's just walking.

I started tracking and walking. I walked a half hour a day for the first 2 weeks and then started walking an hour a day after that. In just 4 weeks I have lost 11 lbs. Everyone around me keeps asking me, "hey are you losing weight?." I don't notice it myself other than looking at the scale. I do notice I feel like I have more energy since I have started my weight loss journey. I started at 223lbs and am down to 112 lbs. Im hoping to get to my post pregnancy weight of 150lbs or even less. I will achieve this goal by watching my calorie intake and walking daily. I have recommended this app to many of friends becausw of how wonderful it has worked for me. Good luck to all of you whom are on this journey as well.

Hi, I feel your pain! I’ve had 6 back surgeries and other health issues such as PE which put me in hospital for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year. I’ve been using MFP for 15 years but I don’t take advantage of all the terrific benefits it offers. I really just use it to monitor my weight. Occasionally I will log my food or save a recipe I really like. I’ve lost 25kgs which is 55lb overall but a few times I put weight on again so I step up my calorie counting. The medications I take for pain all contribute to weight gain which is so frustrating. Keep at it - you will see results eventually!!
