Some good reminders: Doing something is better than doing nothing

Some good reminders from a recent Precision Nutrition article. They are a coaching company. I have not used their services or have any affiliation with them. I like their attitude and newsletters and articles. Link to their article “I know what I should do—but I don’t do it!” 4 steps to overcome barriers to better health
Three reasons we struggle with fitness and nutrition fundamentals, plus four steps to overcome them. that I read earlier today.
In a very small nutshell …. stop making excuses and do something.

I'm very much trying to adopt this mindset. I was saying in my other thread that I've been leaving or avoiding the gym because I've been getting confused about my routine and I get overwhelmed and just leave. I think I'm going to adopt a rule that I must do 45 minutes when I'm there, regardless of what it is. No second guessing if it's not as effective as it could be, just get it done. Just move. It's better than nothing.

Over 40 years ago I gave up smoking and I only managed it by changing my mindset. If I had a cigarette, I thought okay I’ve had one, but I haven’t had 20 or however many it would have been. This kept me going instead of feeling I’d failed and just giving up. Little steps…. Keep doing something!

this was my approach to weight loss. Instead of berating myself for overeating or the dreaded “falling off the wagon”, I shrugged, told myself it’s a darn sight better than it was before, and carried on.
There’s no such thing a a “perfect” weight loss or exercise program. Why waste time grieving for something you can’t have?

Sounds like you all have found the perfect system. The one where you try. Then you try again. And again. All the time with your head held high and a smile on your face.
Perfect!
