Carla - I'm sure there is a sense of peace now that your dear friend Sherri is no longer ill and suffering. A great way to look at it. I know you'll miss her a lot (((HUGS))).
Heather - did you check in the appliance book or on YouTube to see what the E10 error message was? Sometimes just unplugging it resets a computer. If that doesn't work, hope it's an easy and inexpensive fix. Having all that drippy wet laundry is the worst.
Lisa - very sorry to hear you were not having a good morning.
Rebecca - that croissant looks delicious. How nice of Lee to think of you writing down the ingredients too. He's a gem.
Barbie - so glad you had a great time with daughter! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished - less to fuss with later. I "unloaded" some old coins on great niece and nephew when they came to visit me last summer. They might have been worth a little but it wasn't important to me. Turns out nephew is a coin collector anyhow so it was the perfect thing from his great aunt.
Debbie - time will fade the bad memories of MIL, I wish you had some good memories to concentrate on but they are probably buried under years of MIL's bad behavior. 😁 I have a friend whose DD married a nice fellow with a Filipino mom and Caucasian dad - they met when he was in the service stationed over there. She must be your MIL's sister stolen at birth. It sounds like she has alienated both kids due to her negativity and bossiness and her DH basically lives in the shop so he doesn't have to be around her.
Michele - sorry to hear your lawn guy messed up. I would get "huffy" with people like that and DH would get the job of telling them there was a problem. He'd often stand around joking with them and laughing. Sometimes he was such a softie, which was a good thing.
Pip - all of your Yogi pictures are so nice. What great, great memories with your little guy. Looks like he and Kirby had a special friendship, I can see why Kirby is so sad about losing him. Also on your great craft items - are you using acrylic paints and then covering with verathane? Maybe you don't need to.
It was a nice warmish afternoon here, 75F. I mowed about half the lawn right after lunch. I have found a solution to the "tilting" mower problem - I just don't mow anywhere there's a right-leaning slope. I come at it from the other direction and will weed-eat the few inches left unmowed. I can't get the mower close going that direction because of the grass discharge spout that keeps me from getting in there tight.
And just got back from picking up half a flat of local strawberries. Just picked and still warm. There are a lot of little strawberry farms around here. The berries aren't super sweet, but are ripe and juicy. Most will go in the freezer. And the best part - I didn't have to pick them.
Time to let the girls out for their after supper walk. And get the flag ready to put up tomorrow. The 4th of July already! So far no boom booms but Rosie is now on CBD twice a day per the vet for the next few days.

Lanette- Kirby did have a special relationship with him. It was funny because he always wanted me to walk him., he was more attached to me. He sprays the projects I do with something, I don’t know what. One pic I put clear nail polish on the paw print picture frame.

Just a quick check in today.
Lisa: virtual hugs held extra long.
Carol: So sorry about Sherri’s passing. 🤗
This morning I’m meeting with my Latin group to see if/how we want to organise things next term, now that our tutor is no longer available to teach us. The expected heavy showers materialised yesterday, and are forecast to continue today and tomorrow.

I went back into my emails and found that the washing machine is still under its three year guarantee. I have decided to let the guy look at it, and if he can easily do something that doesn't void the guarantee, then he can do it, but if it's a more complicated fix, then I will get John Lewis to do it. It will take longer, but ... hey ho.
Amazingly, I did sleep last night, and so did John, after a previous night's anxiety.
Waitrose delivery after lunch.
I've been deliberating what to do about dinner tomorrow with the kids. I will be knocked out after taking the girls to Bea's performance, so it has to be super easy. Pizza collection sounded alluring, but the price was not. I've decided to get superior supermarket ones for Max, and us, and the girls can have a gluten free one from Pizzzface. John and I can share, and so can the girls. Max will have his own. All round a bit cheaper.
After that we will be taking them home and staying there until the parents come back. I will probably doze off on the sofa!
Unfortunately, rain is forecast for the festival of Bea's show. Umbrellas to the ready!
So, someone has to go up to Sainsbury for two pizzas. 😏

Good morning my friends!
My rowing machine was delayed and will be here Saturday. I guess I should be thankful I don't have to drive somewhere and wrangle it in and out of a car. I really would be lost without Amazon and grocery pickup. Modern conveniences.
Rita yes I would encourage a doctor visit. You are having frequent symptoms. Hope it's a simple fix.
Carol maybe you are just used to digital clocks now?
Lisa sorry you had an eventful day. Hope it gets better soon.
Carla hugs for Sherri. May she rest in peace.
Debbie hugs for your long road to recovery after your MIL.
Heather Yay for the warranty! I will always remember the first time I ordered a pizza and went to fetch it. I felt so grown up until I realized carrying it home on my bike ruined it. Lol !
Beth hi! So frustrating to lose a post. I'm thinking it's not as common as it used to be.
Barbie you are so responsible! My mother left us with a hundred things, like brass giraffes and way too many toss pillows. I leave them to minimize change for my Dad and because I'm reluctant to just toss or donate all the stuff.
Michele we have Trugreen. I'm not impressed. Dad signed up to have the yard sprayed with way too many chemicals.
Pip my favorite is "This is Us!" Hugs for you.
Rebecca Lee is sweet to support you, just like you support your sons. Yay for family love!
Lanette Yay for strawberries!
We are going to my Aunt's across the street for ice cream. Not on my diet, but I will have a small piece.
Happy Independence Day to those who celebrate! I'm not sure how to manage my Dad and fireworks. Hmm.
May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free, and always close to a bathroom when you need one!

Heather - Sounds like you've got the mechanics of it all worked out just fine. It's interesting, like in your nap planning, that we now automatically work around our bodies' demands. I was going to say "limitations," but they're more definite than that. We can object to it, or we can accommodate it and go on and enjoy life as it is instead of how we wish it was.
After I collapsed into my own two-hour nap yesterday, I woke up and looked at how the day went and realized that my body might have been on its own mission yesterday, but it did give me time!
That sounds odd, but there was more than once in the past few years that I would have come home after the first explosion because I would have had to change clothes. Each time yesterday, I had time to find a bathroom without running, and without a massive cleanup after.
Not fun, but not… traumatic, I guess is the best way to put it.
I've decided it's the injection just clearing the decks, so to speak, so that it can push me back onto the path to normal. Nonetheless, I'll remember it for the next injection in terms of timing! 😂
Even with all the uproar, I was able to get everything I needed except the few little bits that are being delivered this morning… and then Cor's brother will be here sometime after noon.
I'm going to let them go play outside with the new tractor attachment Corey got in yesterday and I'll just stay nice and cool inside.
Happy Independence Day to those who celebrate, my dears… and for the doggies:
Love y'all!

Tree work went better than expected. When Exel came they did not have to drop the line, so no loss of electricity. They did more trimming around lines that the tree company doesn't do for safety concerns. It gave them a break too! They needed it with the heat we are having. Good to have all the tree debris Exel left behind. The ferns and other plants were flattened. It will be interesting what comes back. I am going to try and find a bleeding heart. I had one in that area but it didn't do much due to the overgrowth of ferns. The pruning of the trees was overdue. One more boxed check. I was glad the workers finished early for their health. It was a hot yesterday too!
Now just waiting on the front storm door (being repaired) and installation of new storm door in the back. I have to keep reminding myself there will be less maintenance in the long run.
I admire you who have done more major home projects than me…
We are having another Heat Alert day so other than watering gardens and walks with DrewB plan to stay in with AC today. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Oh my word! The repair man came and was a fountain of verbal diarrhoea! He went on and on about everything to do with washing machines at top volume! 😱 John had to leave the living room and go into his study. I reverted to my old habit of flirting, which did seem to help a bit. My Cockney accent also came on strong! After he left, I was laughing so much, and at John's discomfiture. 😝
The man tried everything, and eventually found it was because i had cross threaded the filter when I cleaned the filter recently. The machine had leaked a bit into the floorboards, but I hadn't seen it, as it had run to the back and disappeared. He found a new part in his van, but didn't have to insert a whole new pump. He will send the pump back and say it's missing a part! Eventually charged £139. The guarantee would have been null and void anyway, as it was customer misuse! It definitely states that on the guarantee. Oops! And I thought I was so clever, cleaning the filter! (Which didn't need cleaning) The reason I got it out to clean was because of a musty smell. He explained, at great length, that you need to run a hot, 60° c wash occasionally to kill bacteria and clear grease build up. I've got that going now.
So, it's done, I hope. Crossing fingers. I'll go down to check in a minute.
Then Waitrose came with their delivery.
Now for a nap.

Another water lily from my recent trip to Nature Center…I need these at the moment as I get back to my routine which has been disrupted for the past month and a half.
Heather have you tried vinegar in your rinse water. I do this in my wash to get all the extra soap out of my clothes. Keeps my towels soft without adding fabric softener. I do have a top loader. If you have a front loader I know they need more care to avoid the bacteria build up in the seal. I did get a speed queen washer and like it. It was the closest to what I already had. The dryer I would not recommend even though it looks good. Plastic door…Door that has trouble sealing properly even with a repair done shortly after I bought it. The metal is much thinner than my old dryer so I do not put anything heavy on top or it. Old dryer I could felt comfortable putting things on top of it if need be. It has a built in connection to WiFi that I could do without too! I am of the less EMF the better. As I have said before I shut my router off at night. New washer the metal is much more substantial.
Also learned from installer with new dryer don't dry things like sneakers because it will dent the drum! The wool coated tennis balls are okay. I do use them and find them helpful for some of my drying tasks.

Ladies, I would LOVE to go on a road trip with each of you! It would be a blast! We could go from one state to another visiting all our MFP friends!
Busy day today, not sure if I'm working or not. Waiting on call. Sent Happy Fourth text to family, everyone answered. DH in a mood so going to stay out of his way today. He is trying to quit drinking. But after a lifetime of drinking, it is going to be very difficult for him to do. He needs to go to doc to get anti-depressants to help with the alcohol withdrawal, but he won't. Sigh, man and doctors. It seems men think they can fix anything, including their health!
Took Wicket and Lucy for shots/checkup yesterday. Poor Lucy (and me) she threw up all over the back of the car, both ways (it is a 30-minute drive!) YUK! I cleaned the inside of the car after that. Well, I knew it needed cleaning but could have done without the extra gunk! I have to wait until Lucy goes through a heat before I can get her spayed. Something about the way her parts are shaped. I won't go into details, but now, I have to bring a copy of the receipt and orders to the pound because we had to cancel the spaying until February. It was supposed to be in September. If the heat doesn't correct it, she may need to have surgery.
Thought for today:
I'm so good at fixing things, my motto is, "If it is broke, I'll still fix it."

Happy 4th to All!
Pip ~ Love, love, love all the puppy photos. What a wonderful memory to keep.
Lanette ~ I admire all the work you do to keeping your place up as I know that it takes a lot of stamina to do so. All the mowing and weed wacking plus taking care of the ladies.
Heather ~ Glad you got your washing machine repaired and bet the repairman didn’t know what to think of your Cockney accent. We had a refrigerator that sprung a leak years ago and had to have all the floors replace in a large part of the house. Thankfully, a lot of the repairs were covered by insurance.
Margaret ~ All the repairs you are having done are interesting. What kind of dryer do you have that you can’t put anything heavy on it? We have a lot of repairs to do on our 30+ yr old house that was built in the 80’s. I have no idea when we will finally get around to having it done because I understand the time and mess a lot of them create.

I'm really glad he picked the croissant. His normal go to when he would buy me something at the bakery was a Boston cream chocolate covered donut. It weighs a ton and probably has zillions of calories. Plus after not having as much sugar these days I probably wouldn't even enjoy it! So he picked well!
Thanks for sharing your nice photos of Yogi with us.

I did the hot wash and all was well.
Feeling just a bit anxious about tomorrow, but I know it will be fine. I'm not good at the unknown. The venue is a long way out and it may be raining. My first task is to get lunch down the girls on time and make sure we are all carrying water. Their presence will calm me.

Well I was supposed to bring the ice cream cake to my aunt's just for dessert, but when I got there, it was a full meal. Pulled pork and coleslaw and potato salad. Calories everywhere! My cousins were there and we had a great time. My Dad announced that he had swum the English Channel. I told the same old Air Force stories. So maybe a little yogurt, if anything, for dinner. Meanwhile it's time to put my foot up.

Today is my birthday so went to a restaurant on the lake for lunch, sat outside with the lake breeze, had an average tasting fish sandwich (we were there for the ambiance), and then picked up a DQ treat to take to share with my mom. We may (I'm currently stuffed) make some s'mores at our fire circle later tonight while we swat mosquitoes and listen to the idiot neighbors set off one firecracker after another.
Slept on a NEW mattress that was delivered yesterday. A Sterns and Foster Estate Lux Plush Pillowtop. Take that pressure points! It will take some getting used to but I slept pretty good. Sooo much better than the last one. We did end up having to spend more … no surprise there. I got overwhelmed while trying to pick my "comfort exchange," but remembered what Mo and others said and just kept laying there until I felt like I had the right one.
Lisa … sorry your gut was misbehaving.
Flea … Yay for stable scans!
Allie … the grands are cutie patooties!
Debbie … continuing to think of you and your husband on the loss of his mother. No matter how misbehaved or rotten she was, she was his mother. Lots to deal with there.
Carla … thinking of you as you remember your friend Sherri.
Pip … the photos of Yogi are wonderful and I hope they bring you peace.
Our chocolate lab, Cecil, was boarded for the first time last weekend. He's 4-1/2 years old and let's just say it was a shock to him. The kennel owner said he had a grand time. All I know is it took him the week to recover. And I suspect some of the other doggies might have taught him how to misbehave! He is definitely being more stubborn since his stay in the kennel. The fireworks won't bother him. Last night's preliminary round of noise didn't phase Cecil at all.
Fireflies …. I think it was last year that we were discussing how we never see fireflies anymore. Well, they've had a resurgence in my area! It has been positively magical looking outside every night this week. The yards have been lit up like were in a fairy land. I just love them.

Good afternoon ladies!
Happy 4th/Independence day if celebrating.
Heather - glad he got the washer problem figured out. I always get nervous when the repairmen start examining parts. Sounds like you have a busy day coming up tomorrow.
Margaret - glad the power wasn't interrupted and the problem is taken care of. Glad you were able to tick one more box on your "to do" list. It's a good feeling. Busy summer for you, that's for sure.
Carol - I'm like you. I'm willing to put up with a lot because I don't want the mess and the bother. Unless it's a structural issue in this house, I am content with worn carpets, an outdated kitchen and everything. My house was built in the mid-90's. Some future buyer can gut the place and make it nice just like they want it.
Rita - sorry to hear Lucy got carsick. I think if we're going to have a group ride, maybe we should get a big old Caddy or Buick or something that has a lot of room and a powerful engine. We only live once, ladies.😁
KJ - nice to see you sneak in! Please catch us up when you have time.
Lisa - hope you are getting some good relaxing time in. Boys love their toys.
Annie - your meal sounded nice and it's always fun to get together with relatives like that and share stories. I don't think calories count on holidays and birthdays.😉
Vicki - hope that new job is going well for you. We miss you.
Allie - great time at the (crowded) beach. 😁 I'm sure Sean welcomes the overtime.
Kind of a laid back day here. 70, a little muggy. Got most of the strawberries put in the freezer and did a little freezer cleanout this morning. It really needs to be defrosted but that's for a fall day when the day temps are in the 50's and I have room in the fridge freezer. I have a large ice chest and ice packs but still. It's an old freezer.
I don't want to jinx it, but NO boomers yet in my neighborhood. Of course I expect them tonight; that's normal.
Have a good evening, ladies!

After work, stopped at the UPS store which was closed. See, I bought this float from Amazon and was going to return it because I thought the plug where you put the air in was bad. Well, it turns out that I have a special one that works wonderfully, so I’m not going to return it. Then went to WalMart since I want a float, the other one I have loses air all the time. I notice that Amazon no longer sells it. Wonder why.
Got dinner ready to microwave then in the pool. Now here.
Took my walk yesterday. Went into the adjoining neighborhood. It was so hot and they have A LOT of steep hills. Vince was laughing how slow I was walking back but the minute I got in the house, I ran to the bathroom. Well, it was hot and draining outside, but cool inside. Think tonight I’ll just walk around my block
The guy with the real good corn on the cob is saving a bag for me (I think it’s something like5doz) which I need to pick up tomorrow at the Conover Farmers Market. Then I get to come home, sit in the driveway and husk it, then cook it and freeze it. Don’t want those sugars to turn to starch! I’ve decided that I’ll wear my bathing suit and at intervals between husking I’ll jump in the pool to cool off
Annie – I’m so sorry the rowing machine was delayed. But at least you’re getting it.
Heather – I have a shelf that you put in the dryer and put the sneakers on it so that they don’t dent the drum. It just turns but the shoes don’t, they just get the warm air
Beth – happy birthday. So glad you got a comfortable mattress. There are lots of fireflys by me
Just got back from my walk, think I’ll take a shower and then start to work on another jigsaw puzzle.

Happy Birthday Beth! Lunch someplace with ambiance fits the bill perfectly. Your new mattress sounds perfect for you. How does your DH like it? Did you end up getting 2 twin mattresses?
Annie - I'm excited about your rowing machine. Hope you like it. There's an older gal in my neighbor who uses one of those as her only piece of exercise equipment and it keeps her in shape.
Okie - I've been watching videos about the tremendous flooding in Texas Hill Country. Hope everything is OK at your house.
Lisa - doesn't your sister live in that area? If so I hope she's staying high and dry as she can.

😱 The first fireworks noises have started. I will probably be awake for a long time playing music for the dogs to comfort them. I gave each of them a dose of calming chews. I don't know how much they'll help, but the dogs think they are tasty.
😀 Beth, Happy Birthday.
😀 Annie, your rowing machine will be here before you know it, and you'll be delighted.
