Worked then took Ganon for a walk. Last night Vince kept going on and on about how the tub downstairs was disgusting. Really, it just needed to be scrubbed, it really wasn’t that bad. Here I was expecting something really bad.

There was this girl who worked the register this weekend. Honestly, she wasn't doing practically anything. I remember when Miss L did it, she was constantly restocking, etc. This girl was here today (so was the store manager) and I saw her restocking things, adding ice cubes, etc. Maybe she feels she can get away with not doing much with the other manager?

SO FAR they’re scheduled to start on the deck Aug. 4. That’s SO FAR. Who knows what Mother Nature has in store?????

Lisa – I, too, have been known to get involved in something and totally miss an appointment. What I do is set my timer for a bit earlier than the appointment

    Off to bowling. Later everyone.

MFP says up 1.6 pounds, but my weekly averages show different. These numbers show a steady loss. I am happy with the changes!

Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast- Average wt  back to 131.2 from 131.8.Average steps UP to 7566 from 7230.Ps@2s habit going strong except for skipping once at the 2 am p ... AF days improved to 86%  from 71%., the aftermath of one day of super indulgence ;}10 mins step up/knee lifts, shoulder mobility and/or PT, split squats or dynamic balance every day but Friday and Sunday, oops. Hope you and the gals can keep cool and safe!

Debbie in Napa Valley, CA - up a bit but I also weighed fully dressed(forgot to weigh earlier)155.2

Sue in WA - Lost the 2 pounds I gained last week, no pizza parties. Haven't exercised as much this week, only 1 day over 7000 steps, did not make 7500 any day. Missed water exercise 1 day due to dog being groomed. Yoga cancelled 1 day. Still working on limiting choices for meals. Doing well on breakfast and eating after dinner. Lunch and snack are still problematic. I need to narrow choices down for those times.

Lanette in SW WA State- Weight not budging much, still over desired range. Average daily steps 7974 – up a tiny bit from last week. Getting in a 15 minute sunrise walk on my private road. Still carrying weights 2 or 3 times a day after meals. Doing a few 13# Farmers/Suitcase carries paying good attention to posture.

    Cars that turn off:

I get a few of those at the pay booth on the weekend. I bet it would get very annoying if you lived in the city!

It bothered me in the first vehicle I rented, but I figured it out in the most recent vehicle and it was fine.

Just ease up on the brake and the car starts again. By the time your foot is off the brake, you're rolling. 😀🚗

However, if the driver is the type of person who quickly removes foot from brake and sets it down on accelerator, then there will be issues.

    Good morning my friends!

My sister was telling me about rucking, wearing a weighted vest, for weight loss. Not sure if my knee would take that. But it's interesting.

Pip lovely painted project! I don't know what to call it.

    Evelyn Yay for son's visit!

Mo Wow pneumonia and a presentation on top of pregnancy!

My Dad is staying home from his class to visit with my sister. Not sure what we will do. Too hot outside.

Have a great day! May you all be happy, healthy, safe, and free!

MO ~ Thanks for telling us about your ADHD difficulties that interfered with your pursuit of education. I clearly understand all that you said as I have been there done that. I am also sure that I have LD regarding math. Anything related to numbers is over my head. When I took GRE my math score was at the bottom. Thank God for calculators and that my bank is online.

Lisa ~ Glad your PT exercises are helping! My lower back (sciatica) has been a real bother over the last few days so I am trying to be more active. In other words, get up off my but from the computer. LOL

Terri ~ I admire all the activities you keep going in your life. You are so wise to keep moving and learning new things.

DH bought a package of iced oatmeal cookies and they are my downfall. I have no idea how many I ate last night. Need PIP's boot. Over the last month weight has gone up more than a pound and that defeats my intentions to stay at a certain weight (168). Some of it may be the antidepressants but I just need to get my will-power back and make better choices.

I actually remembered Vicki's MFP name and tried to send her a message to let her know she is missed. I also miss Kelly checking in but know her on Facebook so just think she is really, really busy with work and her daughter's move.

    Best wishes for everyone!

There was a big storm on the way home from swimming ... just about had to swim home! Lightning and everything! It's right in the middle of winter here.

Pip - how exciting about Luna. Anxious to see how the meet n greet goes. Somehow I think Yogi is working something in the background putting things together. Love your latest painting project.

Tracey - I forgot to say congrats on the raise! So glad you got this job and have settled in so well.

Heather - very nice photo of your handsome son, his partner and daughter.

Lisa - somehow it was drilled into me at an early age that being 10 or 15 minutes early is a lot better than being 10 or 15 minutes late, especially for medical appointments. Traveling in an RV after Corey retires sounds like a good plan - escaping that summer heat and humidity for a while. I always liked the area in Washington near the water around where Rebecca and Barbie are living. Usually very pleasant, and interesting things to do - that evergreen scenery is beautiful. Happy for you the PT is doing the job for your shoulder.

Mo - thank you for sharing your story. You have achieved so much despite some hurdles and the patients who you interact with are so lucky you picked nursing. Actually, your DH driving an Uber sounds like an interesting prospect. Who knows, maybe could pick up a rider who is a business person and just happens to be looking for someone with DH's skills. Good that your PERS is protected. I gave in to my DH to take money from my IRA years ago so he could buy a new truck for cash. Paid the tax penalty. Thankfully the $$ that was left still grew, but looking back - I wouldn't have done it.

Annie - hope your sis arrived OK and she's getting caught up and spending time with your dad. Sounds like rucking is becoming fashionable. You might be OK starting out with light weights and building from there. I have to remind myself to start slow with this exercise stuff and work up. Used to be we could jump right in with no thought of injury - sure miss those days.

Carol - maybe if we all send "vibes" to Vicki she'll pop in. Thanks for trying. Good that Kelly is on FB - at least she's not "gone with the wind" like some of our beloved group members. Are you able to take any anti-inflammatories for your back?

Barbie - some of those chickens are very friendly. 🐓 My gals usually let me pet and handle them to a point, but they are big "mama's" so not exactly lap chickens, lol. I like that 20/20 rule, so glad you mentioned it. I've been SLOWLY discarding some things using a similar philosophy. I think the pandemic hammered into my brain to that things will be scarce so I loaded up and now have been in the mood to clean off a shelf in the medicine cabinet, for example. Go through the undies collection (again) and start tossing.

Terri - your Sole Mates group sounds wonderful. If I could, I'd teleport over and join in. 😁 I wonder how Tina is doing with her Irish vacation walking?

The gym - I stopped at the gym yesterday morning. The ladies' circuit training room was interesting - several other gals were in there but we kept out of each other's way. The treadmill worked great and there were kettlebells in various weights for doing the Farmer's carry. But the "curves" machines weren't in good shape, not adjustable, and were awkward to climb in and out of. There was no way I was going to attempt the rower. I'm not sure machines are the way to go anyhow. Maybe I'll change my mind once I check out the "big stuff" in the main part of the gym.

Anyhow, I dug out the "Strong Women Stay Young" book I got from Barbie years ago - 2017? That's when I started my SWSY routine. I kept logs of weights I was lifting and I'm amazed at the progression as I got stronger. Not sure I'll ever get back to what I was doing 8 years ago. I stopped due to various injuries and surgeries and with DH in failing mode, it just wasn't a priority anymore. I need to concentrate on the leg exercises. I'm a good walker, but I'm thinking sit-to-stands and leg extensions are a priority to help with my balance which is a little off thanks to my messed up foot.

It's cool and overcast this morning so far. Got my walk in on the road and picked another container of blueberries from neighbor's bushes next door. Might mow. The wretched imposter dandelions are starting to become fluffballs and it's tempting to just leave them alone. It's that sea of yellow that bugs me now that the grass is turning brown.

Make it a super day, ladies!

    Lanette 😎
