Didn't post JFT yesterday as hubby and I went to his nephew's wedding. Venue was gorgeous place on western shore of Lake Winnebago (largest lake in state 30 mi. X 10 mi.). Beautiful day, except air quality from wildfire smoke got worse as the day went on. The setting sun looked bright red, and my eyes were burning by the time we left. Drive was one hour there, another back; if not for the farmers market in the a.m. and exploring the venue, would've been a totally sedentary day. At least I got my min. 5000 steps.

FFT 8/3 Sunday ~ Air Quality Alert extended again.

    • Slept in & skipped church 😴
    • Walked dog mid-morning & stayed in neighborhood for the shade 3.15 mi 😁 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises
    • BLTs for brunch / leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets / 64+ oz water / log all food / net calories zero
    • Laundry (no line-drying due to smoke) / finish updating finance info (computer problems prevented the other day) / call Mom / read / digital declutter / other?

WOTY 2025: Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

Brought a few dresses last week for a shower/wedding in October and I'm really nervous that my favorite one won't fit. It's "my size" but Donna Karen often runs small, and this is not a stretchy material. The other will likely fit, but I'm not sold on it for the wedding as it's turquoise/black it may be too dark for a wedding. Making my weight loss a priority again. I really want to fit in my preferred dress.

Tim's dad had to be admitted to the cardiac unit Friday. None of their kids could get to the ER right away, so they called in the B Team, me and my niece. He was scared and upset but I think he was glad we were there. Later in the afternoon my husband spelled my niece and I took my leave when my SIL & MIL got there. You are only allowed 2 visitors in the ER. He has been moved to the cardiac unit and is still in A-Fib as of last night. Not sure what the plan is, but between the 4 of us, me, Tim, niece and SIL we nee to provide my MIL (24-3)/7 coverage. We have a home health care helper from 10-1 M-F which is extremely helpful. Then my mom is just my mom… delusional one day, mean the next.

Tim has been working long hours and that coupled with his family issues it getting him pretty run down. Now he is getting sick. I'm trying to get him to slow down a bit, but everything he's doing is important.

Our wild dog is getting chipped and snipped today. Hopefully, once he is neutered he will calm the kitten down. He got booted from daycare last week for being aggressive, or playing . They said he would be reevaluated once he heals.

Happy Monday, folks! Missed a few days again, but I'm getting better at remembering to hop on. I think for me it is a matter of preferring to update on my laptop, but now that I'm retired, I don't use my laptop much. I need to make it a priority because I miss it when I don't do it…and I miss you guys too!

@beachwalker99 Oh my! You had the ablation! I'm assuming it all went well and you are recuperating now. I have an ongoing battle with liver enzymes too…I have fatty liver disease. But it's early stages so it's still reversible with diet and exercise changes. Your post reminded me to get back at it…plus, I've got until mid December to try to get my cholesterol down with diet and exercise or I have to go on a statin. I didn't realize statins can cause liver problems, so that's terrific… ugh. Thanks for sharing and giving me the kick in the butt I needed today, even if you didn't know I needed it. lol

@pridesabtch I'm sorry to hear about your FIL, MIL, M and sassy pup. That's a lot to take on at one time. Good luck with the dress! I know you can do it!

@cschmitz110515 The smoke in the air has been terrible, I agree! My eyes are watering and my sinuses are screaming. Glad you had a nice time at the wedding! I've never been to Lake Winnebago and didn't realize it was the largest lake in Wisconsin. Sounds like a nice day trip I need to take… ;)

Cone of shame. I feel bad, but I can help but laugh as he tries to chew his bone.

@pridesabtch - OH my goodness, you have so many irons in the fire and all major things. I pray you get a break soon , as well as your hubby. I am glad you MIL is getting some home health. I think at the least if you can maintain a decent bedtime routine for much needed rest and minimize the alchohol/salty restaurant food, you might find you feel better too. Since being in perimenopause my evening sleep routine , even though I struggle to get good sleep, is critical . As for monster Merlin,I think you will see a big improvement once he recovers from "brain " surgery..lol

Woke up Sat morning to a text from Mom that dad had driven himself into the ER for chest pain . Great.. (seriously why did he not call us, this is so unsafe for him to do this) They found a spot on his lung and think he has Pneumonia but he really has no other symptoms. Then they told him if the antibiotics don't help him, then its probably cancer.. Our healthcare providers here are terrible. My sister remembered that he had this spot on his lungs a while ago and his oncologist has been looking at it and is not concerned. Its may be from having had pneumonia multiple times , like scar tissue. We are working on getting him a follow up with his oncologist via video call.

Follow up from the concert Sat night- A big thumbs down unfortunately.. The restaurant on site we planned to eat at, was closed. Apparently they close and have a food vendor on site. The vendor was awful, I mean really really terrible. Chicken sandwhich, burger or slice of pizza were the options. Both of the items we ordered were cold and the bun was stale. I threw mine out. It was worse than gas station food. We had to wait out a major thunderstorm before anything got started and then we just had to stand in the rain. We brough chairs and umbrellas but it was so cold we were pretty uncomfortable. We ended up leaving after a couple hours. It was a big disappointment.

I have not done a good workout in a couple days , have been eating a bit randomly with a few bad choices.. and feel like a turd.. to be honest..Need to get back into a better routine..

Countdown to the big trip in September begins.. Iceland here I come!

Dealt with things better yesterday than today. Doggo freaked out in the kennel with the cone last night, so I ended up letting him out and "sleeping" downstairs with him. FIL is being transferred about 2 hours away to have surgery today. The surgeon here that does this procedure is on vacation and they don't feel it can wait. We are working out a schedule for caring for both MIL & FIL over the next few days. Youngest SIL will go with FIL, Niece and I will tag team day coverage for MIL. Hubby is in a bad place at work to try to deal with this. Other SIL should be in town this evening or early tomorrow and she will cover MIL while hubby and I are working. My daughter is working, but will care for pup as needed. Still going to try to moderate intake and skip the alcohol.

    I'm exhausted…
