Mo - I'm so sorry π. Take care of yourself. It's needed, for you and for these kids you work for.
The home injection pushed me further sideways than I've been in quite some time. Makes me tired. Curled up watching the rain, crocheting. Corey will be home soon. He always makes me feel better

I love the medicine ball tea. Here's all I use. I use only the "good" lemon juice from Italy.π. My peach tea is a called passion peach but I forget the brand. My lemonade mix is just a cheap sugarfree kind.
I hope you get better soon!ππ₯

If you can get the bill changed to either an automatic withdrawl, so no check needs to be sent through the mail, that's easy. My son who is overseas and still pays so of the bills here has them on automatic payment. If you have to send a check put a square of tape on each side, where people normally can get a finger thru to open it. We have a couple bills that we just pay "online" so on our banks site there is a "bill pay" area. Especially the ones that are the same amount every month, its just easier. I go onto the site, hit billpay, then click the companies listed (I have already put my account numbers in when we started it up years ago), then put in the amount and click to process. Then usually the next couple of days my bank pays the bill. Easy peasy.

After work went to Food Lion to get distilled water and noodles that were on sale.
Tracey β nice looking car. Congrats!
We had to take one of Jessβ cats to the vet. He has something on his paw. She and the vet talked about it. Went right over my head. Alls I know is that his back left paw is somewhat inflamed. Honestly, to me it doesnβt look it. They gave him a shot and sheβs to give him prednisalone
Then I went in the pool. Made brownies that Jess was going to make. The real reason I made them is because the recipe calls for 2/3 cup oil. And if I know her, she would have used oil. All that oil! I used about Β½ cup applesauce and about 1/3 cup oil. We really donβt need more, and she wonβt know the difference. Theyβre baking right now so Iβm boiling chicken breasts for her. I know either tonight or tomorrow she talked about making chicken enchiladas, so while the brownies bake Iβll boil the chicken. She can shred it. Will probably want to go to the church to get the donations from the Sunday masses. Update: I did go. You know, I left some empty boxes there and do you know that someone took them??? I only hope they took them to fill them up. I know that I had one of the BK tomato boxes there, and today it was gone. Oh wellβ¦.
Bought gas for the mower the other day and you can still smell the gasoline. Iβve sort-of learned that if I have to go get gas, take everything out of the trunk and line it with a lot of towels.
Got 3 Halloween shirts that I ordered from Amazon. I swear, I looked in so many stores and all they have are fall-themed shirts. I know I ordered 4 shirts, but Amazon only sent 3. I have to go check on my orders again. Update: the fourth one is supposed to be coming tomorrow
Weβre getting our dinner-prep down. Jess plans what weβll eat on her days. I donβt mind going to the store and buying the ingredients because I realize that after working all day, it is tiring. So at least she has everything here. And I donβt mind doing some prep. Just call me the prep queen!!! :)
Beth β so sorry you need to go to a funeral
Jen β welcome. I donβt think this site will ever become a dating site. Those βfriendβ requests are generated bots. Iβve gotten ones, different name but same picture. And vice versa
Rita β happy birthday to you dh
Mo β you are a blessing from heaven to those kids. Iβm in awe of all you do
Picked up the donations from the church today. Previously, Iβd left some boxes behind the table to put things in since itβs easier for the soup kitchen to deal with boxes. Do you know that someone took the boxes? I only hope they took them to fill them up!
Allie β Iβm so glad youβre getting care.
J&C do the cooking on their days and they do wash their dishes/pans. But I do wind up cleaning the counters, the stove, running and emptying the dishwasher. Well, I guess I can handle that
Took Ganon for a walk. He pooped last night and I thought I got it, but I saw it tonight so I picked it up
Vince put on the new mower deck but it seems that when the deck split, it caused the belt to fray so we need a new belt. Vince thinks he may have bruised a rib putting the deck on.

Machka - I have trouble keeping my face out of the water to take that breath.
Annie - so sorry your Dadβs mind brought up memories for you that were better left in the past. Hugs to you.
Kylia - I am hoping we switch styles up here soon. Weβre at the crop top stage here again and itβs just not a good look for me!
Rosemarie - I never thought of that about how we interpret men. I think thatβs true though, I was so determined not to be my mother and to do for myself that I overdid it. The least little suggestion from Dad or Grampie when I was younger and Rodger now I get defensive.
Fall was in the air here for the last couple or three weeks. Yesterday and today is in the 30βs Celsius. Today was 34Heather - your guest room looks adorable.
I hope you have a wonderful visit.Lisa - I am a bit obsessed about my car right now.I hope that you are having a better evening after your injection.
I sat in the car for over an hour tonight learning all its features. If I use the remote start, the climate control feels the ambient temperature outside and sets the temp to heat or AC. If itβs AC it also turns my vented seats on, if itβs heat it turns the seat and steering wheel on as well as the heat for the wipers and mirrors.
Annie - I have a couple of those types of pants too, they are my dress pants for work in the Winter.
How lovely your Mom and her sister were able to connect and be so close in their golden years.Beth - the bots didnβt leave me either. I donβt think there is any defeating them. I just wish we could block them as they pop up, Iβve no issue doing that and since almost every app has that feature it canβt be too difficult to do.
Children in hospital - our youngest was in and out of the hospital a lot when she was little. I never got into see her as often as I wanted and would cry to the nurses because I couldnβt, they told me she wasnβt as upset about me not visiting as she was about me leaving. I had Lauryn at home, worked full time and Rodger drove truck. There wasnβt a lot I could do. Her grandparents and Aunts and Uncle visited her too, she usually had someone visit at least every afternoon, unless there was a snowstorm and travel was dangerous.
Carol - that is awful! Iβm so sorry that happened to you.
Lanette - I am much more confident taking them. Iβm hoping to go for a road trip on Sunday or Monday with them.
Michele - Jess keeps trying to help and then you do it. π
Is she not a vet? I thought she was, do they not treat their own pets? I just assumed they would.I donβt have a lot to say tonight. My insurance wasnβt as high as I was expecting it to be. That was a nice bonus.
I donβt know if I had mentioned about the old films that I took in to be developed. The first one came back and I stopped on my way home last night to pick it up.This picture was on the top of the stack. Itβs definitely one of Momβs photos, she was not a good photographer and she probably made a mistake and bought B&W because Dad despised it.Anyway, the man on the left walking away is my Dad, the little boy is my nephew, and the man in the forefront is my brother with his wife in front of him. I donβt know the man in the background, they were at Kings Landing NB, a historical settlement. Judging from my nephews age I think this must have been 2007-2008.
There werenβt really any good pictures except a couple taken of the property we grew up on, probably to finish the film roll so it could be developed. π
I have 3 more Iβve taken in and 17 more that I need to find a place to get developed as they are 126.I think Iβm going to sit outside for a bit, Iβm tired and itβs very hot in here.

Oh I forgot, I have a full moon roof!
11 -
Tracy, cool moon roof! Do you get a lot of snow, and will it hold a lot weight wise? Ok me asking a silly question because you know its me duh, but that where my brain went when I saw it. Of course it made out of pretty sturdy stuff, because JEEP products usually seem very tough. Do you mostly buy JEEPs or is this your first one? Since 2012 we have just had Chevys. Before our little Chevy spark, our auto we drove around, you know to the grocery store etc, was our 28 ft Winnebago!ππ. Yes kids get in the RV we're going out to dinner.

Tracey - You seem to have got a lovely car for a reasonable payment. It's not dissimilar to John's, but without the glass roof. I know you need a good car with your extremes of temperature. This car will be our last, as it just sits outside for months on end. John has to take it out for a run occasionally, or it would die. We could get a lot of taxis for the amount it costs us to keep it. I hate being driven by John, and I'm not keen on anyone driving me, to be honest. I will tolerate a professional, but I'm really, really nervous on motorways. Being driven to Portsmouth, an hour and a half away, is the worst part of my cruise.
Allie - Thinking of you. π

Carol - I am so so sorry that check fraud happened to you. I always thought that by mailing checks directly at the post office we had some protection. I wrote a check to a local charity that took over a month to clear and I was getting nervous. It did clear for the correct amount. I think I'm going to start hand delivering checks. Otherwise, I'm not sure what we can do about this other than pay everything online.
Pay everything online.
Cheques (checks) are rapidly being phased out here in Australia with the plan that they'll be gone by Sept 2029. Cheque usage has declined by 90 per cent in the last ten years so hardly anyone is using them anymore and most banks don't offer them to customers anymore.
I haven't used a cheque since I paid rent with one in 2008 β¦ and I used a grand total of 5 of them over 2007 & 2008.
Instead, we pay everything online including doing bank transfers to each other. If someone is collecting funds for someone's retirement at work, we transfer an amount into the account of the person collecting the funds. If we want to donate money, we transfer money to the charitable organisation.
All this reminds me of something else β¦
@Rosemarie2972 β¦ I don't know when you last travelled outside the US but if it has been a while, I just thought I'd mention that Traveller's Cheques are a thing of the distant past.
You might also want to make an enquiry at your bank about using your bank cards in Europe.
Here are a couple other clothing sites with suggestions:

Rebecca β very sorry for your sister! That's really difficult losing both dog and cat!
2 -
Machka: Yes! I just mentioned to my mother last night that I didn't even know if Traveller's checks existed any more. I did use to travel with those! I didn't have credit card until age 23 or 24. Now I understand I need to get a debit card β¦which I don't haveβ¦and also that the bank will order some Euros for me!
Heather: I need to go back and read your post about European fashion and that I will be traveling with a group of Americans anyway. I wonder if that is what will happen. There are 11 of us going and I have learned 6 people know each other. I will probably do somethings with this group.
I am friendly and not a snob. But I don't want my Europe trip to be about a lot of masking to be with others either.
I use to walk around Boston in my 20s quite a bit. I know I can't do all that anymore. But I have already asked AI what is walkable from the hotel. LOL ..I am getting a steroid shot to my knee before I go! I have the ortho appointment!
And in Rome it seems as if walking can be as fast as driving and there is some sort of Metro. So do I envision myself in Italy, having wandered from the hotel by myself before 8 am in the morning. I am afraid I do. I think it is taking awhile to reach back to this part of me. But I think it is still there.
When i went on a tour to Ireland, I broke away from the group to tour Dublin on my own. I was 22 or 23. This day in Dublin is one of my more vivid memories of the trip.
So, I hope I don't look too much like an American tourist!
I hope to catch up with the postings this afternoon!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

Healing thoughts Ladies! I haven't taken allergy meds in over a year. Have been taking last 2 days. Cant get sick before vacay!
Tracey- I am so excited for you and your new car. I love a moon/sun roof. No crop tops for me either!
Mo- Please use your vacay for you. You definitely need and deserve it. Our system is so broken especially when it comes to children and seniors. Hugs!
Carol- So sorry that has happened! I am always nervous when I have to mail checks.
I should get out of hot tub and do a few things before work.
You are all loved!

Are you flying to Rome and then getting the cruise from there?
If so, be sure to check your baggage limit on the flight to Rome. The amount of luggage you can bring on flights has diminished quite a bit over the years.
Also β¦ go light weight. The less your bags weigh, the more your body will appreciate it.
For example, you carry-on will likely be 7 kg (15.4 lbs). When you get to security, you'll have to give up the trolley you might have been using to avoid carrying your carry-on. From there to the gate, you'll have to carry your carry-on. In some cases, the distance from security to gate is not far. In other airports, it could be a kilometre or more.
You'll have two choices β¦ carry less or start lifting weights and carrying that weight on walks. π I lift weights and carry weight for a couple months before my trips.

Yesterday, I got 2 crowns ... in my mouth! Expensive!! Many thousands of dollars.
Today, my teeth feel like they're rearranging themselves a little bit.

Rosemarie - Yes, a debit card you can use abroad is good. Euros also. When we stayed in Rome we got the tram from our little apartment into the centre. But we also walked miles! I couldn't do that now. Buses are available, find out if you need an app. When we went you could buy sets of tickets from a newsagent, but that was 12 years ago. It could still be quite warm, so layers are best.
You could also use Uber I believe, but Google it. Quite useful if you are worn out.
You will love it. The city is full of.tourists, so you will blend in. Learn a few simple phrases in Italian. It makes a big difference. Always greet shopkeepers etc.

π I had a successful experience with the battery powered trimmer. When I cleaned up the debris, I noticed that the lavender plant looks like it was trimmed by a beginner (like a six year old using scissors for the first time). I have more trimming to do later in the summer so I'll have the opportunity to improve my skills.
π Tracey, Your new car looks fabulous. I know you'll enjoy the features, the safety, and knowing that it will work well for you. When Jake and I bought the car we have now, my two concerns were a payment we could afford and service available nearby.
π Heather, your guest room looks great. I agree that a painting on the wall would be a good touch.
β€οΈ Allie, Oh, no, not the ER again. I hope you feel better soon.
π National Dog Day was this week. I told Annie and Bessie that it is dog day every day at our house.
π As I was reading about how to dress in Europe so you don't look like an American tourist, I was reminded of the You Tube videos I've been watching of music performances in the 1960's and how well dressed both the singers and the audience were dressed.
π Paying by check My dentist's office offers a 5% disount if you pay by check. When I went this week I had too much on my mind leaving Annie home that I forgot to bring my checkbook. When it was time to pay, the receptionist said that since I usually paid by check, she could give me a bill to take home and mail the check. Earlier in the week, I mailed a check for a grandson's birthday. When daughter was here in July, I gave her a check to cover her travel costs. Otherwise I pay my blls online.
π A bit of rain this morning which will be good for all the growing things but make the yard messy for yard work this morning. The rain should be over by the time we go out for our after breakfast walk.

Allie β¦ hope the doctors find an answer to your problems soon!
Tracey β¦ I had a vehicle with a moon/sun roof here near Buffalo. Rebecca β¦ It does indeed hold the weight of the snow. But know where those buttons are. Without thinking one morning before work, I pushed the wrong button and the sunroof opened β¦ dumping me with over a foot of snow! After the initial shock of being covered in snow, I just sat in the car and laughed and laughed. I was late for work.
Machka β¦ two crowns IS expensive! Our teeth do shift as they get used to crowns, extractions, etc. In my experience, it all settles down in a few days. Always reminds me of the years I had full "railroad track" type dental braces. Wow, but they were something.
Paying by Check β¦ I avoid it all costs, but still write checks to the church and some of my mother's medical providers. The way my mom's bank accounts are set up, she does not have a debit card. Some of her providers will accept EFTs, but others want a debit or credit card (which she also doesn't have). I tried to open a credit card in her name, but even though I am her POA found it impossible with her dementia.
Lanette β¦ husband's visit with back surgeon resulted in the need for a CT scan of an area of his back. I was unaware that for some areas in the spine a CT scan can give more detailed information than an MRI. Who knew. Anyways, they want to determine if his old fusion is failing. If it is, he will need some hardware. If the old fusion is stable, they can perform a less invasive surgery and just clean out the area above the fusion that is causing him increased pain. Either way, surgery is in his future.
Today I am focusing on cleaning the kitchen floor. I plan to get out my scrubber (very old and kind of stinky) and give it a good going over before I finish up with a crosswave multi-surface sweeper. I no longer can get on my hands and knees like I would have done in the past.

Morning, my chicksβ¦
I've got a kitty Kling-on this morning, she won't go outside as it's already raining, and now the thunder and lightning have started. One more big boom and she'll go hide under the bed.
Love seeing the rain so much, but hope the wind stays reasonably calm. The trees have already been under immense stress from weeks of heat and no water that they've already lost a significant number of leaves. And we have a lot of trees. Then again, high winds are seldom a good thing.
Tracey - Thanks for the thought, I'm feeling quite a bit better this morning. I think having the roof always there would be marvelous, but literally just forgot I had them in the few used cars I got that you had to open a solid cover to see out!
Allie - Thinking about you, kid. Check in when you can.
Machka - Two crowns sounds like a headache, just keeping your mouth open that longβ¦
Carol - I'm so sorry about the check! And right after the scam, too, it's got to be even more frustrating.
Rebecca - I keep meaning to say that my heart goes out to your sister, losing both her beloved pets has to be so hard.
Beth - I nearly spit out my coffee with your sunroof story.
Checks - I had to write a check to the lawyer (significant discount for it) and to the older gentleman who we bought the property from when we bought the little house early in the spring. It took me a LONG time to find the checkbook. First time I've written a check in a couple years, I think. My very small amount of office things are in my craft room, so it gets moved every time I rearrange my craft room - which is averaging twice, if not three times a year. Had to think about it a lot.
Physical therapy this afternoon, but there's a really good chance they'll call and ask me to come in early - a lot of the older folks cancel appointments as they don't want to drive in the rain. (Note - I KNOW I'm considered an older folk, πππ but I really still don't feel like one, so there's that. Driving in the rain doesn't scare me, but I fully approve of people who aren't good at driving in the rain staying home.)
Corey's at work today getting all the oil changes done - the mowing crews don't even go out on the big rain days. It's the perfect chance to get the maintenance work done. He said he had five trucks to change the oil, and a bunch of the big pieces of equipment. The timing's good, with him being off the next four days, but it sure makes for a busy day. I'm glad he's getting a bit of a break, but he's got plans to accomplish a lot here at the house, too.
Hope it's a good day - I just need to get the dishwasher going, but other than that, my chores are all done for the week. I could do floors, but I just really don't want to. Sometimes I really love being an adultβ¦
Later, y'all,
Love,

Its just incredibly sad. Knowing her husband that's passed, has them helps in her coping. She is the most strongest person I know besides my own husband. Yesterday she had a huge dead tree cut down with a big crane. She asked the guy if she could go up in it! So she snapped some great pics of her property, house and fields from way high in the basket.π. The guy stated that he's had that rid for 3 years and no one has ever asked for a ride up. I think she needed some perspective (physically and mentally). When she was talking to me about it, her face lit up. Nice to see. Yesterday was Tucker's 7th birthday, and she picked up the dogs ashes instead. π₯

Mo, get all the hugs and rest you need. I could NEVER do your job. HUGS! HUGS! HUGS! HUGS! HUGS!
Allie, hugs and prayers for you. I hope they find what is wrong and get you back to normal.
The ranger here called me early yesterday to ask if DH likes pizza?! I said of course, his favorite. The ranger ask if he should get a cake or something. I told him DH loves ice cream cakes and if he was going to get a cake, get one of those. Then we had a little birthday party for DH. He was surprised and didn't expect it. It was a nice time.
Thought for today:

I ATE yesterday! Oooph! My body is kind of saying to me good job, but gurllll!!
At lunch I ate 1/4 of a huge burger that I shared with husband. Then a handful of fries, maybe 6. Think of like a Wendy's "Baconator burger"! Had iced tea with it. Then dinner was celery, red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. All raw, with some Litehouse buttermilk ranch dressing to dip them. I cut up the cucumber and tossed with a new thing I bought. Crunchy garlic sweet chili oil! I added a dash of soy sauce. It was delightful tossed in the cucumbers. I ended up putting a bit in my dressing! Then main course was a repeat of Tuesday night dinner. A piece of pub battered cod in a street taco sized tortilla. A slice of havarti cheese to anchor the fish piece and 2 spoonfuls of cole slaw in it. It was good too. I drank 33 oz of sugar free lemon water, plus a can of tomato juice, the iced tea, coffee and actual water. Dessert was a protein bar.
Phew, you know I envision my body like one of those old factory machines. There's pipes wrapped, and steam spewing out in places, but she runs! My brain is like the guy that runs the machine, loyal to the core. Talks to the machine, kicks it, but is always wiping his brow with a hankie! π

Especially since these are not the only 2 crowns I've got in there. There are at least 2 more. All these crowns are the only hope for my teeth.
Lisa -- I did the open mouth for almost 2 hours thing 3 weeks ago when they were getting my teeth ready and doing the molds etc.. Came home and slept, I was so exhausted.
This time, it was only about half an hour.
Feels weird to have whole teeth back there again. I wonder if I will be able to chew things like raw carrots again now.
Not happy about the bank account being drained of funds.
