September Goal: 165 miles
9/1: 6.05 miles
9/2: 6.52 miles
9/3: 6.25 miles
9/4: 6.35 miles
25.18/165 miles completed for September
Today's run was hill repeats. I am still loosely following the Run with Hal plan, and he suggested running 7 x hills, but to run 2 of them downhill in the fast part. So that's what I did. I felt pretty good about the workout. I was a little slow on the last hill interval, but I was too fast on the downhill segments, so I think it evened out. The weather was really nice. The temperature was up a little compared to yesterday, but the dew point was lower and it felt great. The plan was for 6 miles but I wasn't quite home so I ended up with 6.35 miles.
@Teresa502 I usually do yoga on you tube. One of the yogis I follow is Kassandra and she is doing a 30 day "yogalates" challenge. I like yoga better than pilates, but it has been kind of fun.

I ran a tarunesque 3.33M at 14'08.
The heat broke a bit and I waited until close to sunset so it was pretty shady.

Today's run was slightly slower and shorter than the last couple of days. My body was feeling a bit sluggish. And I just felt like doing an easier run today. Tomorrow will be a rest day, before my long run on Saturday.

The day before yesterday I did a 17km, 730m elevation hike over small and not very big volcanoes. I still felt this in my legs yesterday, but still tried to run. Yeah, very stiff legs indeed. Had to walk for 4 short moments, totalling about just over 3 minutes. Could have been worse though.4 -
@kgirlhart - I did Day 1 of that challenge but that's s far as I've made it!

Yesterday evening did a trail stroll feeding mozzies. Was a bit cold 16c, but at least the smoke cleared

I've somehow posted twice halfway through editing (I've asked the posts to be removed).
Anyway, 5km easy today. I mostly just wanted to go a bit faster. Rest tomorrow then a longer run Sunday.

Checking in for September.
Somehow I'm busy and distracted by real life but here are some updates from my side
30th of September I participated some run, 5km. My time was 36:12. The worst ever but Im ok with that. From this point it can only be better. I was also sick two weeks ago and had to rest so I didn't feel completely renewed for big efforts.
Two days ago, I signed up for a group training ( running), first time in my life. It's once per week. The first training was intense and it's exactly what I need: a mix of warming up, jogging, intervals, walking, stretching.
Plan is to run one more race 5km, end of September, and to complete it faster then previous time.
And then, 5th of October , race 10km race. Goal: 67 minutes or better.

I'm now reading the previous posts, where @John772016 , also said he had his worst ever race result recently 😄 Let's agree, next time we race, we'll both share news about some improvement, ok?
When is your next event?
I signed up for 5 races and the last one of them will be a half marathon, in January. I've done it before, I'll do it again.

Found a slightly better route that has a more gradual increase instead of steep, then nearly flat, then steep again. Also decided to run slower and make smaller steps. Ok, still needed 4 short walks, but overall I was more in control.

Sounds like a great, hard run today @kgirlhart .
Nice running @Zaxa2021 , @tarun_yadavA , @chris_in_cal , @yirara , @username301 .
That's beautiful @WarmJellyfish . Glad the smoke cleared and hope it get cold enough to keep the mozzies at bay soon.
Glad you found a motivating group to run with @micukica .
I say there is nothing wrong with some walking @yirara . As long as you are moving forward, you're doing good.

Yard sale all day - 7:15 - 5:00. We enjoyed meeting the people who stopped by, made $135, and got rid of some clutter. Repeat is on the schedule for tomorrow.
When I got home, I went out for a short driveway wun. Keeping the streak going and burning off a few calories.

I ran 6 miles today. The temperature was higher than yesterday, but the humidity was low and the dew point was 54°, so it was still pleasant.

I am traveling for a few days to Palm Springs, CA for a friend's 80th Birthday party.
I will probably do nothing more vigorous then slipping into the swimming pool for a few minutes to cool off.
I have been on an eating plan, and I make everything myself, but not the next few days. I am going to try and enjoy that without any stress and realize I can get right back onto my plan in a few days
@micukica You are really jumping all in!
I signed up for 5 races and the last one of them will be a half marathon, in January. I've done it before, I'll do it again.
I signed up for an April 2026 Half-Marathon. I also want to keep motivated, and make progress, maybe I'll sign up for a couple smaller race too.
See you next week everyone. Enjoy running.
5 -
@chris_in_cal Is that a first half marathon? However, signing up for smaller race before the big one, is a good decision for sure.

9/4: 4 miles
9/6: 12 milesTotal: 22/100
I got up early (at the gym by 4am) for a long run. There's honestly no good reason for going that early, I just enjoy the quietness and stillness of the early morning.
The first 10 miles went well... and then I struggled a bit. I slowed down a little and took some extra 30 seconds breaks. I was just past 11 miles and debating if it was close enough to quit when an older guy at the gym came up to me and asked how far I have ran and gave me a word of encouragement. It was brief, but enough motivation to push me the last mile.
I'm proud of the run, but I still have some improving to do before the half marathon at the end of October.

Legs were too stiff for running today. No problem. Just a very quick run. Planning a longer hike tomorrow, thus that's fine.4 -
Wow @zaxa2021 12 TM miles!! That's tremendous!
@chris_in_cal have fun this weekend! It was in the 60's this morning! So I went for a long(er) run. My right calf cramped up around 4.5 miles, so I cut it at 8 miles. Iced then heated and it feels better, but still not 💯%. It's always something 🫤

I ran 9 miles this morning on the Tweetsie Trail, a local rails-to-trail. Wasn't sure whether to wear my road shoes or trail shoes as it has tiny packed gravel. I wore my road shoes which worked okay. Two friends ran 8 miles so I just tacked another on while they were doing a cool down walk.
Hope you have a fun time away @chris_in_cal and that you made tons of money today @quilteryoyo !

Hope the calf if back to 100% tomorrow.

@Scott6255 take magnesium and vitamin B supplements, I wish you speedy recovery.

@Zaxa2021 I'm sorry it sounds like you said you went to the gym at 4am! and ran 12miles!
10km from me, at a click quicker on the treadmill. Felt some pressure in my hips, which went as soon as I was finished.

@username301 Yes, that is what I did. Looking back on my post, I see it wasn't very clear. I was excited to post about the run and wasn't thinking very clearly, apparently.
9/2: 5 miles
9/3: 5 miles
9/4: 4 miles
9/6: 12 miles
9/7: 4 milesTotal: 30/100
Relaxed 4 mile run this morning.
Tomorrow is a rest day. I'm quite happy with what I did this past week.
4 -
@Zaxa2021 You were totally clear, I was just joking badly in a post 10km haze.
Some miles people post here are incredible, but 4am miles, just wow.

Happy running everyone.
Friday was a recovery day so just a walkabout.
Yesterday was a 22k LSD day, decided to run in the late afternoon as I need to get used to the evening transition. It was a rough start. Ate tooooo much for brunch so started the wun walking, a lot. Started hot then it cooled. From clearer skies it became hazy again so had trouble getting air. Running past a picnic ground was distracting, mmmm bbqs.…willpower needed to push on. Need better insoles, left arch collapsed which made for some run hobble. Or a new shoe. This was a rather draggy one, took forever 3 hrs 41 mins, but good for time on feet, run/walk shuffles and getting used to when it starts to drag and need to shuffle even more.
