    Just give me 8 days. After that I will be traveling for a bit. Before the 8 days are up, I will be celebrating with our whole town for our annual festival. Mixed in will be my High School 50th reunion.

    Some eagle eyed amongst you out there may have noticed that I have also posted round 309 - well in advance; this is because we get up at stupid o'clock in the morning to leave at 3 (trust me I'm not copying @Skyleen75!) for the airport for our 12 day holiday. I've struggled so much with MFP on my 'phone over the last few weeks that I've created Round 309 in advance on my laptop just in case I don't manage it on my 'phone whilst away; I would hate to let the group down. So below is the link to 309, but I will post it again (fingers crossed) on 9/17. I hope it doesn't cause any confusion.

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 308 (my 238th).

    Goals for every round;

    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
    • an additional goal for me (again) this round is to have a totally 10-day binge free round, will be difficult with hotel food all round!

    Soooh, in 5 hours we fly out for our annual holiday; in that time I want to eat at maintanence & not overindulge, but I am on holiday so will relax a tad, I can do it if I use my will power.

    Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

    Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available.This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

    I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".

    9/7 141.6 – (trend 141.8) 11.64 miles walked. Can’t say that I’m not disappointed with this number especially after Friday’s goal weight being achieved, I was under calories yesterday, but over on carbs, I’ll blame the pizza for tea. Oh well, it is what it is!

    9/08 DNW There is no scale here at the cabin on the lake. There is also no real kitchen so big meals won’t be a challenge!

    My aunt is pretty health conscious so I predict this week will not up end my progress! We’ll start each day with her four mile walking loop through the woods. Which I’m delighted for!

    Fingers crossed that there won’t be too much mindless snacking!

    8/8 – 126.2 I got through yesterday well. Was a very mixed day. It started with family visiting my mom so she could finally see DGS2 for his second birthday. She was totally blank. I have never seen her like this, to this extreme. So, the family together was fun, but mom’s condition/behavior was stressful. We’ll see what today brings.

    9/8 - 128.6. Just looking to maintain this round. I’ll be one vacation tomorrow through Saturday and plan to indulge (my favorite ice cream shop in the world is where we’re going and I haven’t been in years!). Hopefully the last 4 days of the round will be enough for damage control back to my start weight. Today is meatless Monday in our house and I plan to make a veggie-rich dinner with one last round of tomatoes from the garden (I planted 8 tomato plants but let the volunteers go wild and we ended up with way more supply than demand!). I did a Peloton ride this morning and just have trip prep the rest of the day. Happy Monday! I know, easy for me to say with a vacation starting tomorrow 😆

    🐝🐝🐝🐝09/08-183.6 ❌ (Trend Weight – 184.6) Leaving shortly for the two day medical trip. Mammogram and Oncology appointments at the University Hospital that saved my life when I had breast cancer. Routine annual check-up. I hope you all will remember to get your Mamms! I’m starting this round with a big red X and already in the negative. Lunch was on target but dinner was pasta and an ice cream treat (huge!) from the local ice cream place. My attitude was that the next two days are going to be skewed anyway so the heck with it. Not a good plan! It’s the perfect example of letting the air out of the other 3 tires, except this time I didn’t even wait for the initial flat, I did it ahead. I tried to ride the heck out of my exercise bike last night to make up for it but then, there’s that old saying that you can’t outrun the fork. Very true! Up one pound overnight.

    We've travelled to Ibiza - the party island, but the quiet side for us, no "giving it large" lol 😂, we saw enough of the youngsters doing that on the flight over - reminded me of the journeys to senior school on the bus each morning! Oh my goodness I do feel old now!!! 👵😂.

I honestly don’t know what was going on then but by the end of 2022 my husband had had both shoulders replaced, I’d had a big blow up with our older daughter, and he had been elected to our HOA board. All major stressors. and I started gaining. I need to get a firmer grip on my eating and hope and pray that he will “let go” of the board when his term is up in November. [/Spoiler]

    9/8: 182.2 🤨+0.3 from Rnd 307 EW | NSV: Went on a 1.8mi walk this morning. It felt good. Full day of lessons today. I will be wiped this evening. Planning on a strawberry-spinach salad for dinner…with chicken, of course—so I’m not so hungry after dinner! Hardest goal so far is NOT eating after 8 pm!!! Any tips? Anyone care to share your best tip for curbing that monster? I am literally hungry—not just bored. I’m busy doing things with my hands and keeping my mind busy.

    9/08 - 170.4 - Expected. This weekend was full of unexpected switches in my food plans causing me to plan for one thing and then end up with no similar options for dinner throwing my calories and macros completely off. I'm back to being on track today, though. Water was good. I missed my step goal Friday but I think that's because my watch didn't track half my steps - between being in my sling and carrying things (using my sling as a pocket) and then resting my arm on the cart while shopping, I know I walked more than my watch gave me credit for. Oh well. Walk this morning on my walking pad. Doc things I'm ready for PT but we got xrays done just in case. I should know by Wednesday otherwise I have to call in and check the status. I think he'll put in PT request after xrays are verified. Yippee!
