I guess the magician has come back but he’s making bottles of sangria appear which I don’t drink. So🤷🏻♀️

Good to see you back here! I totally get it- amazing how those pounds creep up. Well, you crushed it last time by limiting alcohol, and know you can do it again!

Nice! I always enjoy seeing your stats.

@NonnieDoiron That’s actually perfect! If I had a house full of Scotch, I wouldn’t drink it. This is convenient for you!
One drink tonight after work with my colleagues. I was having a stressful shift and invited them out. Still within my calories and macros, so win win!

@NonnieDoiron Sorry your husband bought something you don't like…LOL. Like they say, if you want something done right, do it yourself 🙂 BTW…you are doing awesome! Can you send some of that Mojo over to me?
@Womona I agree. If I had a house full of Scotch, I wouldn't drink it either. But, if it were Bourbon…well, we might have a problem!

I was almost happy with the NA IPA beers during the hot weather. But as the temperature drops, a glass of red wine while sitting outside is so tempting, and a cold beer is not so appealing. And we've been going out to eat. My September stats are looking a little heavier on the A/LA days. Even slight changes in routine can throw me. Lots of excuses - none of them valid.

Starting September with a bit more motivation and concentration. As I mentioned before, my goal is to limit the drinks I have when I DO drink versus focusing on AF days as I tend to not drink much during the week and then go overboard on weekends. This past weekend was an improvement, not great (still went over my limit and did not get my green dot in my tracking app) but less over than on recent weekends. My goal this weekend is to evaluate my limits and then stick to it, no exceptions or excuses.
Since this is the MFP community, also a little whining - having a poor body image day today and it's hitting hard. I haven't felt this down in a long time, I feel like I've been trying to lose weight my entire adult life and yet the number goes up. As we transition to a new season, I'm realizing that much of my fall clothes no longer fit and the ones that do, don't fit well. I'm experiencing trepidation because I know that the fall / winter months are when I see some extra weight after losing over the spring / summer, and yet the last 2 years I have been adding with not near as much subtracting. I have my annual physical today with a new dr, so I'm hoping to get some new ideas or even blunt truths.

I do wish I could share the mojo. I’m really not sure how I’m doing it. God must be helping me. We’ll see how things change/don’t change this weekend as I celebrate my bestie’s birthday with her.

This is harder than I imagined it would be. But I got a new scale a week ago that measures body composition, and the reality of it seems to be helping me decide to have a little more discipline. This week:
A: 3
AF: 4
An improvement from my usual habit of every evening.

@globalhiker ~ How's your Dh doing after a couple of days at home? Understood, that's a lot of stress to carry, but you immediately got back on track…a hour didn't turn into days, weeks months! That's a win!
@Michieb125 ~ take care of you too! Glad your Dh is doing well and slow is ok. How did the post op appointment go?
Still looking good @tmbg1
@WestCoastGirl_7 ~ I hope your brother takes the hint 😁
@Womona ~ I did really well last week with the scale moving in the right direction. So much that I though…good, smooth sailing…then Monday arrived….😕
Welcome back @xbowhunter ~ thanks for the reinforcement and support for NOT drinking wine. One day I will listen. Kudos for you for getting back on track and I know you will be successful!
@NonnieDoiron ~ at least there won't be temptation for you. Stay the course! Good Luck with the bestie celebration…remember, stay away from wine!!
@nbruns83 Lots of excuses - none of them valid.
Well said!!! Yes, drop in temperature, firepit outside…cool evenings…want comfort food and drink. Struggling. Tonight I want to make a fire after dinner and that means I most likely will have a glass or two of wine.
Just keep swimming." — Dory
@2timesacharmmfp ~ - having a poor body image day today and it's hitting hard. I could have written this as well. Some days I'm on top of the world and highly motivated and other days, I feel the same way that you describe. Please share any motivation/and or ideas that your doctor provides, and let's get out of this rut.
@StepWise123 ~ someone in another group wrote about 75 Hard and how it has more to do with discipline than anything else. So while I don't want to do 75 hard, I'm thinking of what else I can do to build discipline over the long run.
@SparkSpringtime69 {{{hugs}}} I see you! ❤️
Sending pleasant and positive vibes to all.

AF-10My weight loss journey is a little wonky this week. I did not meet the 1200 minimum calorie goal on Monday or today, but I’m full and definitely don’t feel like eating anymore. Yesterday, I was over 1200 but not by much, and I felt nauseous after eating some grapes with lunch because I was so full. Maybe my body is preparing for extra calories this weekend by minimizing my intake early in the week.🤷🏻♀️
Taking Friday off to clean bathrooms and bake bread. Who else do you know that uses PTO for cooking and cleaning. 🙄

Most times I feel like all of you. Body not cooperating. People in my world dragging me in different directions. I want to be in charge of me but I get pulled in different directions and lose power, energy, courage, motivation.
This past week was a major challenge but my husband is home from the hospital and his spine surgery was successful so now it's about dealing with recovery and helping out but the bad part and the waiting part is over!
What has been working for me on the diet - focusing on getting the extra 500-1000 calories burned from movement daily. That signals our bodies to relax and release stored calories. I stopped eating less and started eating more quality foods, protein and fruit - not a lot - like 300-600 cals a day - but the body stops stressing if we exercise and it lets go of the weight. I am now at a point where I count nothing, eat when hungry, stop when full and every 2 weeks a lb. drops off. And I eat a 200 calorie chocolate daily. Hate to say this, but no alcohol helps the weight loss big time.

Can you believe that September is 30% behind us?!?
Post op appointment went well so DH starts outpatient PT this am!
He is really motivated to get out of the house - me too :). I would say the past two weeks were mentally and emotionally challenging but walking every morning for 12 days has been a game changer….it’s been my own sacred time to welcome the day, appreciate what I have (or feel sad) and sets me up for a day that I create. This mama needs her space and stress busters other than wine! The scale is smiling today so I’m not complaining.Thinking of you @globalhiker and great update on husband and keeping up your wellness practices! You’re right about alcohol having no place in a weight loss program!

@StepWise123 curious about your new scale, can you share the brand? Mine is the old Weight Watchers digital — would love to track more than just pounds. Your stats are good! Be proud of what you ARE doing!
3 -
my weight is trending down, even though I’ve had wine the last two nights. I know tracking calories and macros doesn’t work for everyone, but it works for me. Also helping is getting back to exercising, which makes me feel great. Oh, and shutting my pie-hole! Haha!

@Michieb125 : This is it. Amazon or direct… reasonable price. Love it.

I’m so happy the drive was worth it!! As always, nice stats.

so far only 2 AF days this month, but that’s ok. A little over one glass of wine each day this week. The big challenge is tomorrow night when we are on the boat.
Haul out is in a month! Only a few weekends left-and then we have the fun task of taking everything out of the boat. I don’t want the season to end. Enjoying it to the fullest while I can.

Bestie let me know she has no intention to drink this weekend, so I am staying AF! Looks like sober September for me. It’ll be the first sober month I’ve had in a very long time.

Hi @chicbuc I have a feeling that you've been lurking. If you don't know who I am, I changed my username. I used to be LittleSurferGirl_7. Anyways, I'm about to stop posting too. I just wanted to say that I miss you and hope you are doing well. If you have been lurking you probably know that we lost our little baby Tinker. I've been feeling really sad. We got a couple of new kitties and they are wonderful. But, it's difficult when you lose a member of the family (almost 18 years). If you do read this, I want you to know that you were my spiritual inspiration. I hope you are well. Take care my friend!

9/11 LA ~ went to White Sox game. We tailgated, made burgers and had a glass of spumante. The seats were great, but right smack in the hot sun. It was TOO hot to drink anything but water. Some would say beer but I don't like beer so kept with my water. I had a bottle that I froze the night before, it was perfect for cooling off.
9/12 A ~ Had wine with dinner and then continued into the evening while watching a Hulu series.
9/13 AF ~ Was invited to a neighborhood party this evening but I'm not going. Too much food and drink this week, and going out to a play tomorrow, so going to just take it easy this evening and tick off an AF day.@globalhiker @Michieb125 glad both of your DH's are doing well with recovery.
@StepWise123 ~ i have the Elis Nova and I love it. I had purchased a more expensive one (different brand), and it was so inconsistent.
@Womona ~ It's hard to believe the boating season is almost over. This summer seemed to go by so quickly. And yes, you are doing well with "Less" so whether your day is AF or not, you are drinking LESS and that's a win!
@NonnieDoiron ~Well, that's a pleasant surprise for you that your bestie isn't interested in drinking when she visits. That will make it so much easier for you to stay on track and meet your goals!!

Hi everyone,
So, I broke my streak on Friday, BUT...I only had 3 drinks: An Octoberfest beer, a Jager shot and a Negroni cocktail. For me, stopping at only 3 is almost a miracle! Still, I plan to reset my count. I abstained yesterday and will continue through this week; however, want to reset my official, "Sober Time" app count on Sunday, September 21st, which is also "World Gratitude Day" and the "International Day of Peace". Every time I resist the temptation to have an alcoholic beverage, I will think of why I'm grateful and will send up a little prayer for our world.
Here we go! Next stop? Fall!🍁
I think i need to get into the habit of checking in once per day.
Now I will go to read your must recent posts.
Enjoy your day!
💞Carole
