Happy Birthday Tracey!!
Okie in the TX Hill Country1 -
Tracey- Pigeon Forge...it really feels like home to me. Happy early Birthday!!!
So...I went to flush toilet this morning before we left cabin and something caught my eye through the window.
When we left she was laying down in the woods right there! Scary! She stayed laying down. At 115 she was pictured in our trail cam. Needless to say we came back yo cabin while it was still light.
Walked 16k steps today. Plenty of walking!
Much love,

Cute boot/shoes!
I could only wear them if I were sitting most of the time, but I do like cute footwear.

Happy Birthday! 🎂🍰🎁
Nice evening!
And well done Kaitlyn!
Hairdressing is so expensive here. The salons charge around $100 for a dry cut/trim. Some of them charge about $50 for a 10 minute consultation and then $100 for the cut! The "cheap places" charge between $40 and $50.
I appreciate that they get training to do this, and that the space in the shopping centre costs money, etc. but $40 for about 10 minutes hacking 2 inches off the bottom of my hair (as they did for my last cut in a "cheap place") was definitely not worth it.
The hairdressing school charged me $10 for shampoo, massage, conditioning treatment, consultation, cut and oil (on the ends). I was floored!
Can you take a bus into Edmonton? I stayed in the city where you live one or two nights a week for a few weeks when I was going to uni in Edmonton and I would drive in to a certain point, then walk or take the bus or train.

Happy birthday Tracey!!!
Took our barn cat Tootsie to the vet today. She was lethargic and not eating well. Found out to the tune of $900 that she has a kidney infection. She has had antibiotics and fluids and is home again but not very happy with us.
Getting ready to go to southern CA next week. DGS living with us is taking some getting used to. I think I will enjoy some time on my own while I am there.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA

Feeling a bit worried.
My brother texted v late last night, so I didn't see it until this morning, He suggested coming over for a 'quick visit' this Monday, or coming Sun night and staying over. There was just something in the tone of the message that made me think that maybe he was coming to give me bad news about his cancer. It could just be that they are combining it with a visit to DSIL's niece. Anyway, I said yes to Sunday night, as the suite is still pretty OK, and I've washed the bedding and towels from my son's visit. I've even ironed the pillowcases!
When the rain stops, I'll go out and get supplies to make a Spag Bol, which they can eat, or not. Flexible. Plus the flowers I couldn't get yesterday. We've had lightning this morning! Just got to make the beds upstairs.
Monday pm is busy with my cleaner coming, and a Zoom at 4 pm, but my guess is that they will be gone by then. Doesn't matter if not. They are easy guests, and the opposite of houseproud. 😉
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Kylia ~ That bear sighting was a bit scary. I don't think there is any way I could wear those shoes but hope you enjoy them.
Machka ~ Thanks for the info about making private - public. I get my hair cut at Great Clips here and it usually cost around $16 just for a damp cut. It all depends on who you end up with doing the cuttings. Some are good and others not at all. The last time I got mine cut the worker shaved the back of my neck and it was almost infected.
Debbie ~ So glad to hear that your husband has calmed down and hope it continues. My DH worries all the time about the dryer lint as our new dryer did not fit in the space well and I'm not sure it is hooked up correctly to the outside vent.
Rebecca ~ Looks like you are doing a good job of estimating how to break down the calories/nutrition in combo meals like sandwiches. The photos of you in the white sweater make a wonderful statement regarding your new way of eating.
I cannot usually eat ice cream because I'm lactose intolerant but have found that fat free Greek yogurt seems to agree. This morning I had vanilla Greek yogurt with a banana sliced into it and it was delicious.

M I just send those requests to spam. When I do it reminds me if I get any suspicious e-mails that is where they go not to trash. I notice now that I have my answering machine off I am starting to get less Robo calls too! I have caller ID so I can see who calls.
2 -
You can turn off those requests entirely - never receive them again.
Gmail's spam feature is OK (not perfect, but OK), so to my way of thinking, it's better not to receive the emails we don't want at all. Especially when it is so easy to turn them off at the source.
I prefer dealing with stuff like that as few times as possible. On the few occasions I have received those kind of friend requests here within MFP, I immediately decline them here within MFP. They never go to my email and so I don't have to deal with them in my email too. I don't have enough time to deal with stuff like that twice ... or, in your case, since you're putting them in your spam folder rather than deleting them, dealing with them 3 times!
(If you do want to read those requests, you can look at them here on the MFP site, they don't need to be in both places.)

Morning from the sunny shores of the Arkansas River Valley…
Sorry I've been largely absent - remember that slip and fall from a week ago? Did more damage than I thought, and this is the first day the pain has finally released. I must have strained every muscle from my ribs to my ankle on that side. Much, much better today, and that's a good thing. If it wasn't better by Monday, I was going to have to go see my doctor, and I really didn't want to.
Funny - it took almost three days to really get up to the point where it had such impact. Once it set in, though, I couldn't think, couldn't do much at all, honestly.
Anyway, now that's over, I hope it was a lovely week for all.
Tracey - Happy birthday, dear heart, hope it's wonderful.
Heather - Hopefully all good news from your brother, just a need to see his sis and other family. Enjoy your visit.
Kylia - Bears are amazing, aren't they? Love the boots, and love you for wearing them at all. But no, those boots aren't made for walking (couldn't resist).
Rebecca - Love your haircut, but I'm afraid I'm also more in the Twenty-Dollar-Crapshoot-Haircut Club. Waiting until I get my stitches pulled out of my neck to get mine cut, and looking forward to it! Stitches are out tomorrow at noon!
Beth - No worries, either way. I'm fading off of Facebook slowly… I've got more people blocked and snoozed than I have "friends" now, and am just moving the vast majority of social media more and more to the periphery of my life. It is just so much better for my head.
Back to my doings… Finished the carpet in the spare bedroom this morning, and working (with Corey) on the vinyl plank in the back hallway. Should be done this morning… fingers crossed!
Later, my dears,
Love,

Pip, I love it! For the record, the puppies and the wagon look so much better after you painted them. Now your babies can be with you forever!

So, my bruv is coming around 4 + tomorrow. I've made a big ragu. Trying to get a firm plan out of him was hard work! All I've got to do is make the beds and spiff up the bathroom.
When I got to the butcher today, the heavens opened! Torrents and flooded roads. I had wet feet when I got home. Luckily, I had already bought flowers from the shop opposite. I now have a sprig on the dining room table, and a nice display on the hearth.
They arrive just when the women's World Cup rugby match starts, England against Scotland. John will have to keep an eye on it on his laptop, or go in the next room.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Yep I have done all that. My diary is set to public. I just don't understand more I need to do. I guess the people that want to view my diary will just get to see it every now and then when I take a screenshot of it. No worries! Thanks for the instructions though!

Lisa, its the only high maintenance thing I got going for me!😂😁. Oh I do get a pedicure every couple of months too, but that is just self care so my feet are healthy.👍🏼
Congrats on getting your stitches out soon! Getting your haircut will be a nice thing!💖👍🏼

Thanks! I was kind of amazed that with my deli outing, with the huge half sandwich, half a pint, the pasta and the bites of potato salad (that I didn't log!), that this morning it would show up on the scale. But nope same weight. I did drink a lot of water when I got home, and also ate that meal pretty early in the day. By evening I was fine. Its nice to know I can eat like that and not really have an up tick on the scale. So totally a way of eating that I can manage out in the world.😁
I get my hair shampooed, cut, and styled pretty much every 3 months. With short hair its noticeable quicker. One day I will be like, aaack, its sticking out all over!

Kylia - that bear was a surprise. Do they normally hibernate during the winter? We have black bears out here - some have been spotted just a few miles from my house throughout the years, but they keep to themselves and I've never seen any. I have friends that hunt them and eat the meat. 😑 There have been a good number of cougar sightings in my area, but I haven't heard coyotes this summer like I usually do. Maybe that's why. 🤔
Heather - enjoy your visit with your brother and SIL. I know it will be good for you both to get together.
I've been looking at recipes cooking rice in the crockpot, and it seems to work fine. And I found a recipe that has a mix of rice, quinoa and lentils together. High protein, high fiber. I'll try it this week. I don't have rice on hand, but just the quinoa and red lentils in broth and spices should be good.

After work went to the soup kitchen, came home and took 2 of J’s cats to the vet for rabies shots, took Ganon for a walk, started to make dinner for J. When she got home from work I mentioned that she should make the salad and get the table set. What did she do? Went in the pool. Vince talked to her and she said that she thought I was doing it. Didn’t we agree on M, W, and F? I don’t think I should have to do everything. It seems that C did everything, cutting up the lasagna and serving it, cleaning up. Well, whatever works for them….
Kylia– pip has to run faster so she has time to get everything done….lol
Justcame back from taking Ganon on a short walk. He’s getting better and better about walking. Oh, he still balks, but not nearly as long and not nearly as often. I am trying giving him a good treat when we’re finished. When we get to the driveway, he has to sit, I take off the gentle leader, then give him his special treat. Tonight it was some of the pasta salad J made (it’s about a week old – not bad but it’s been here too long) and some of the terriyaki chicken she made the other day.
Speaking of kitties – remember the one J found and took to a rescue? Well, seems it’s been adopted. I’m still sad that we couldn’t keep it. But I know that there's no way we would be able to take 5 cats down to FL.
Tracey– happy birthday!
Facebook – I can’t seem to find anyone on facebook :(
Heather – I do hope it isn’t bad news from your brother
Carol – who hooked up your new dryer?
Lisa – I’m also part of the $20 cut club. Although, sometimes I get the $8 one (especially in summer, I let Mother Nature dry my hair). In winter I most of the time get the $13 cut so that they’ll dry it
Worked then came home and assembled the taco pie. I think it needs more meat and less sour cream and cheese. Next time, that’s how I’ll make it. Then made brownies. I do have to say that I’m getting better at only having a small taste. Then into the pool. I’d completely forgotten that Jess had an appt. with Ganon so I’ll take him for a walk after they get back (no, I won't since we have the theater). J&C went to the Container Store and got the tote I wanted and other things.
Kylia – at our second home, there was a family of bears that lived right up the street from us.
Going to the Hickory Community Theater tonight to see “Hairspray”. I do hope it’s not too much of a musical.
