Did Balance Ball express DVD then part of Ultimate Power Yoga DVD. Then took Ganon for a walk, then to WalMart. Also stopped at Sam’s to see if they have croutons that you can buy in just one bag, not multiples. Also needed tomatoes. Bought bananas, I don’t know how much of a bargain they’ll be.

Tracey – I guess I cook the same way Kaitlyn does. I plan my meals for the next week, mostly depending on things we have in the house. Then I go and buy what else is needed

The other day Jess bought chicken breasts at Costco telling me that we can put them in the freezer and how much of a savings that would be. Yet, the other night she had to buy chicken breasts because they were already defrosted. So where is the savings???? If you buy produce and it goes bad before you can finish it so you have to throw it out, where is the savings? She and C went out to breakfast. I just can’t understand the desire to go out for breakfast. But they do, so that’s OK. You have to wait in line to be seated, you order then have to wait for your food, you don’t really know what’s going into your food. Not to mention that it’s expensive. Oh well, it works for them. I just had the leftover soup from the other day. I don’t mind that for breakfast.

Lisa – I never really cared for Biggest Loser. I think I watched it once and then never again.

Melanie – one of the cats we had was so abused that she had air leaking out of her trachea. We had her for about 12 years (and LOTS of money to take her to NCState to have a polyp removed). She never was able to meow. Towards the end of her life she made a noise, but not a normal meow. I like that saying “live and learn...and die a fool”

Tracey – love the trees. Thanks for posting

Question for all dog walkers: I have a strong suspicion that Ganon is going to be here during the winter. Now, in the past I’ve walked even in the cold and kept my hands in my pockets with handwarmers. Well, he has one leash that I like, it just goes around my wrist and I can put my hand in my pocket. Here’s the dilemma: I’m not crazy about carrying around a bag of poop. If he goes on my street, I just pick it up and drop the bag in the road and pick it up on the way back. What do you all do during the cold weather when you have to carry a bag of poop? I really don’t want to put it in my pocket along with my hand, but I don’t know what you do with it. Is there some sort of thing that you can attach to the leash to put it in until you get to the garbage? Inquiring minds want to know.

Dog poop- we always pick it up, put it in my pocket and it’s my hand warmer til we get to trashcan. We never leave it and pick it up on the way back because we may not come home the same way.

Routine steps to keep a refrigerator working longer. Once or twice a year clean the coils. When I bought a new frig for son's house one thing I researched was how easy it was to clean the coils.

Another thing that helps is to make sure you do not block the vents in the freezer. by keeping those clear it helps the refrigerator work better and not overheat.

Keep temperature above 50 degrees where you have it. Unheated garage in cold climate will not work for a self defrosting frig.

If doing renovations if possible turn off and clear area well before turning back on.

I think part of why son's frig did not last long 5 years is the house had major renovations before he moved in. The temp got below 50 when the heat went out. I was not able to clean the coils on that one without major difficulty.

I was able to buy a basic frig with no bells and whistles for a reasonable price in this day and age. Because I went with black instead of stainless steel I saved another $100. I actually prefer the look of the black compared to the steel.
