Great start to the month @Mari33a . I hope you don't get too much rain.
You're doing great @chris_in_cal .
1 Oct - Walked 0.90 miles - Ran 2.35 miles - Treadmill
2 Oct - Walked 1.15 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Driveway - Doubles tennis 1h49m42s (1.28 miles)4.40/80.00 mile goal
Posting two days.
Yesterday, I got up early so I could get in a run before heading out for the day. I kept adding to my "before I leave the house" to do list, so wound up cutting the run a bit short from what I had hoped to accomplish. Avg run pace was 12:56 min/mile. Avg HR was 113 with a max of 138 bpm.
Today, I got the first service done on my Crosstrek and then mom and I did some shopping while out and about. I did a driveway walk after I got home so I could eat a bite and have time for it to settle before heading out for doubles tennis.
Tennis was fun. There were 8 ladies…we played a set and then switched partners. I think I lost all of my sets, but they were close and I played pretty good AND it was fun.

Morning all.
Got in 5.5M at 11'16 in the pouring rain
6 -
I'm getting back to running after a year of battling long Covid. Starting slow but hope to do 50 kms this month.
7 -
Great run @kgirlhart . Glad it was enjoyable.
Great running in the pouring rain for you too @tarun_yadavA . So people look at you like you are a crazy person when you run in the rain?
Welcome @BigDfromNJ . This is a great group. Glad your long Covid seems to be subsiding. We have another member suffering from Long Covid, for 2 or 3 years now. She hasn't posted here in a while.
1 Oct - Walked 0.90 miles - Ran 2.35 miles - Treadmill
2 Oct - Walked 1.15 miles - Ran 0.00 miles - Driveway - Doubles tennis 1h49m42s (1.28 miles)
3 Oct - Walked 0.75 miles - Ran 2.75 miles - Treadmill7.90/80.00 mile goal
Did a treadmill walk before heading into work this morning. Today, I decided to run 0.25 miles and walk 0.10 miles. It went pretty well, but seemed a little hard for being slower than a 2/1 min run/walk. (Slower, I'm sure because I didn't make it up to the same speed - fastest was 5.2 mph. ) Anyway, I got it done. Avg pace was 13:08 min/mile. Avg HR was 111 with a max of 130 bpm.

October Running Goal: 35 miles
4.6 lbs.weight loss (166.7 lbs -> 162.1 lbs)
————————————————————I'm Chris; I live in San Diego, California.
It's starting to cool off a bit, which makes it nicer to run and sleep. I am starting off October feeling pretty good, with only lingering left shoulder issues. I'm seeing a Physical Therapist, and though it has really not materially improved over the last few months, I'll stick with the routine for now. I signed up for an April 2026 half marathon and I'm excited its on my calendar. It's funny, I signed up and paid for this race two years ago and then deferred it a year, then last year I deferred it a second time. I contacted them and said I want to do it this time, and they had no issues, they added me and I'm now signed up for 2026. Sometime after the new year I'll start a sixteen week training block. Until then I am going to continue to do resistance training, get fit, run, and also do other active fun stuff. Good luck this month.

Irish hurricanes, eh? Are you pulling my leg here?
I'm glad to hear the storm wasn't too rough on you.
1 -
@chris_in_cal I jest not. The hurricanes take 2 weeks to cross the Atlantic & we get anything from breezy warm to like this full on storm at this time of year. September is always breezy and warm and rainy too sometimes

03/10 - 0km - Cycling - 28kmTotal = 6.55km / 4.07 miles (Goal - 125Km / 77.7 miles)
Unexpected rest day on Thursday, which was unfortunate as it would have been a great weather day for a run, but stuff happens. Today had a bunch of financial info to review so hopped on the stationary bike for a 72 min ride while I doing so.

It seems to be raining across the whole of the UK tonight and blowing a gale in most parts. Partner decided to put the heating on, which made for a hot treadmill run.
Interval run, 500m@8min/km followed by 500m@6.39min/km x5. Was fine apart from the heat.
Runs 2/18 Distance 10/110km weights 1/9

Great running @nossmf , and @username301 .
Glad you got in a run before the worst hit @Mari33a . Also glad your power outage didn't last long.
Way to multi-task @John772016 !

Welcome @nossmf I'm glad to see you are trying out adding running to your routine again.. That's great.
For me running has a bunch of ups and downs depending on how my health and life are going. The best part of this group is the consistent effort each of us puts in to keep going. Some daily, some regularly, some sporadically, some incredible impressive running streaks, and all are good. Just don't stop working your plan.

10/1: 6.02 miles
10/2: 6.02 miles

It was another nice morning. Today's run was 800m intervals at 5K pace. I ran a total of 6.25 miles.

October Goal: 120 deliberate miles walking and running (I think)
10/1: 2.12 miles RHR 64
10/2: 3.12 miles, 1.1 walk RHR 64
10/3: 4.03 miles RHR 63
10/4 RHR 6310.37 miles completed for October
Yesterday I really pushed it (for now) as a test and I was pretty wiped out the rest of the day. Probably will back off a little this weekend altho I still want to get some runs. My RHR is normally in the 50's so watching it is telling me how recovery is going from being ill.
Interesting weather overseas! wow.

Hello @BigDfromNJ sounds like you are a perfect fit for this thread. It's highly welcoming, interesting, and consistent.
Me and another regular here got covid last month and are gently trying to put it in the rearview mirror.
A beautiful thing about this thread is the consistent supportive running content. I may be the least consistent runner here and others are daily long term streakers, there is no wrong running plan, goals, hopes. This thread is for us who have occasionally seen the benefits and joy in a good run and know it's still available to us with some work and a nice new pair of running shoes. 😀 I hope this race training cycle goes well for you, and for my own selfish "I want to be inspired" reasons, you share it here.

did someone say "new pair of running shoes" ???!! (ears perk up…. eyebrows raised) I have no business buying any new shoes at the moment but those Craft Kype Pro look very interesting….
October Goal: 120 deliberate miles walking and running (I think)
10/1: 2.12 miles RHR 64
10/2: 3.12 miles, 1.1 walk RHR 64
10/3: 4.03 miles RHR 63
10/4 5.11 RHR 6215.48 miles completed for October. I kept is VErrrrrry easy and it was more a SLOG today - the weather is still better than summer but I am wanting the crisp mornings we had last week back. I decided to try to keep my hr down and just go as far as it felt ok. For most of the run I was able to keep it under 140 but of course there is creep the further you go. But overall even with more distance I think it was easier than yesterday's hard effor. Change it up. Monitor. Keep trying…. rinse wash repeat.
Welcome @BigDfromNJ like Chris says we just all do what we can.

Another beautiful sunny (?)autumn(?) day here in Toronto - about 24⁰C / 76⁰F at the moment! (it was around 15⁰C when I went out for my run.)
Had to walk up some of the uphill's during my run, normally by this time of the year I'd be able to run them🤬. Oh well, something to work on for next year!Debating if I'll sign up for another charity run, (there's a 5K/10K at a location I've never run that I thought would be fun as its through a conservation area & mostly off-road).
Guess I'll need to decide soon as it's in 2 weeks.5 -
Have not so silent silent reflux and currently can't exercise. Maybe it's under control tomorrow.

I ran 5.34M at 14'05 out at the lake.
